Featherbed provided care for my aunt for almost a year when she was experiencing failing health until she passed away. The live-in carer, Clara, was wonderful in every way. Compassionate, caring and often going above and beyond without any hesitation.
The service was exemplary and I have no hesitation in recommending Featherbed as a company.
You may not know in advance when you will need all-day, live-in care. Featherbed Homecare can provide care just when the need arises.
Their carers don't have a day off (they have a two-hour break every day), so you don't have the worry of what to do on their day off. The charges are very reasonable: so much cheaper than alternative arrangements.
The carers are capable and knowledgeable. The best of them can become firm friends.
My mother had lewy body dementia and parkinsons. Myself and other family members cared for her with some daycare support. Featherbed came to our aid by providing Nancy to care for mum from the evening through the night. Knowing I could leave my mums house knowing she was in the hands of a caring and trustworthy, experienced lady was a godsend. Nancy came to live with mum resting up during the day so that she could care for her properly during the night which allowed us to rest easy at night and allowed mum to stay in her own home until the very end which was her wish. Nancy was there to support us as mums needs changed right until the end and i will always be grateful to her and featherbed for being there in her hour of need.
My wife is 96 and suffers from dementia, I am 89 and have emphysema. . We have now had live-in carers from Featherbed Homecare for five months. We have been impressed by the professional way in which they have gone about their duties, whether it be caring, cleaning, cooking or generally looking after us. Surpassed expectation with my mother’s end of life care over c4 months. Company and individual carers all extremely professional, efficient and caring. Nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend.
