Best ever UK postal address and forwarding service

If you have need of a temporary UK residential address , or a job abroad this is the perfect solution. I was with Explost for 3 years and found the service invaluable. The website works and is easily adaptable to your changes in whereabouts and the scanning and and or forwarding feature are also fully adaptable to your changing needs. Highly rated.

AVOID. They will close your account,and say your account is overdue when it is not and keep your payment.

Trouble finding documents. Turns out I have not been getting documents because of , what they deemed a "glitch" as in the link did not exist for me to get additional documents.
They are expensive. £18.00 plus to scan some docs which I could have done but the link was missing.
Waste of money.
The company closed my account, keeping the payment I made for the next couple of months. Their excuse was that the account was more than 30 days overdue which is untrue as I paid for 3 months within the last month or so. They sent mail tracked which I never ever requested. Mail not forwarded due to it being on a hold which I did not place.
£33.00 per month plus all the additional postage costs adds up quite a bit.
It is dishonest to close my account, keep my money paid, and lie about it. I made screenshots, fortunately.
I would give them no stars if I could.
AVOID!!!

Thank you for your review Wynter, I will take this opportunity to defend ourselves in this instance. All of our charges are on the charges page https://www.expost.uk/fees-and-charges which states that all scans are charged at 80p per page. You were offered the option to have your mail sent out tracked 24 so to save you costs but you chose against this and still wanted every page scanned. Our protocols mean we only ever scan the 1st relevant page for you to see what has arrived and from there you can request a forwarding or scan all pages, but we only scan the 1st page to save you the costs of all the additional pages.
Your account was closed as per your request. This was done after you were given a warning for disrespectful conduct towards staff. We operate a zero tolerance policy on abuse towards staff. Any form of abusive, threatening, or disrespectful behaviour towards our staff will not be tolerated, and as you decided to shout and swear at one of our managers you were given a warning, after which you requested for your account to be closed.

CAVEAT EMPTOR ( Buyer Beware)

Anybody on here who is thinking of using expost, read this 1st.
Here is my experience of using expost.
I was looking for a way of having an address for my driving licence as i was working on a campsite, they didn't have the campsite address registered for postal services.
I contacted expost & their solution, seemed best for my circumstances.
I paid £300 for a year & was provided with an address in ottery st mary, i sent off my licence to dvla with the relevant fee using the address purchased, i received a letter off of dvla stating that the address that i had provided was an accommodation address & the only way that i could receive my licence with this address was if i could provide either a utility bill or a tax letter with the same address.
I contacted expost & they said that yes address's do get blocked, once the dvla notice an above average use of any address, they offered we the option of changing the address to one in Bristol, honestly that may have worked as they said it was a virtually new address & i shouldn't have a problem, what if i wasn't one of the 1st people to use it, then I'd have the same scenario as i had with the 1st address.
I have requested a pro rata refund as i felt that i wasn't receiving the service that they had promised.
I'm £300 down & haven't got anyway of having a driving licence at a registered address.
On their website they state that all emails are replied to within a reasonable timescale, not true, I've been waiting close to 2 months for a reply on my email requesting a pro rata refund, previously some of my emails took a week before they'd reply.
Expost are not the solution, their model is flawed as i found out to my cost.
I received a response from expost & because I had had the subscription for more than 7 days & I'd used it ( my letter from the dvla forwarded to me )
Then I wasn't entitled to receive a refund.
CAVEAT EMPTOR
Update response from expost.
I was not initially advised by expost to go for the Bristol address, if the had advised me then why !
They are selling multiple locations for their address services & indirectly they are admitting, that some addresses are more likely to be accepted by the DVLA than others.
Their version of events are totally inaccurate.
Ottery st mary was blocked by DVLA, how long before the Bristol or other addresses are also blocked.
Don't be fooled into thinking that they will be the solution to your static address woes.
I learnt the hard way, do not trust them, they are con merchants & liars.
CAVEAT EMPTOR.
So incase people aren't aware how expost work, there are multiple addreess that they sell to you, they are throughout the country, the vast majority are addresses that they pay the home or business owner to resell the address, I chose the ottery st mary address it is a computer repairshop, it was 30 minutes drive from where I was working, meaning that I could collect any parcels & it was a reasonable distance to collect, having an address in Bristol, would have meant an hour & 20 minute drive & was not convenient for me to use.
Some letters contents are scanned & forwarded to a secure portal that only you can access or you can op for a forwarding service, paying the relevant postage cost to receive your letters & small packages.
Their terms & conditions are of no help to anyone, once you've had it for 14 days & you've used it, they are not going to give you a refund even if it doesn't work.

Buyer beware!

We have reviewed your communications with us and believe that your sequence of events is inaccurate.

When you signed up for our service, you were offered a choice of available locations. We advised that our Bristol address would be the most suitable option; however, you chose the Ottery St Mary address. When this address was later refused, we offered to transfer your account to the Bristol address, but you instead requested a refund, which is not permitted under our terms and conditions.

As stated in our terms and conditions, if the address has been used and more than 14 days have passed, a refund is not available. We did provide alternative options, which you chose not to take up.

We do, however, acknowledge the delay in responding to you and apologise for this. We always aim to respond within two business days, but on rare occasions a message may be missed.

You say your transparent but where's the cost for the service,I can see the handling, scanning,forwarding mail costs but not the costs for the service,my apologies if I have overlooked this,

No apparent costing for the service? I can see the costs for scanning, handling mail, forwarding etc...but cant seem to find the costs for servicing the contract?.my apologies if I have overlooked this but you pride yourself on transparancy? I must be missing some print somewhere.

This is a great company

This is a great company, my post is sent quickly and efficiently. It takes the worry away of getting post when I am away as they can hold on to it till I get back. Parcels are always left in a secure location so are not liable to be stolen when delivery drivers just leave the outside in the open. Like with the post I can get them delivered when I am back.

Paid for account but cannot actually use it even after completed registration?

I am real customer but I think for privacy reason I should not post my DB number here.
I have updated my review from earlier post since the company rectified the issue (not being able to use the account due to verification takes so long to complete). One start removed because it took almost a month to achieve active/registered status.
This review will be updated again once actually used the service (i.e. send or receive letters).

Extremely bad - DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY

1. They didnt alert me of important mail for over two weeks after it was delivered to them. 2. Their own website states (or did at the time) that I could collect from their Dunfermline location in person. AFTER I paid fees and joined they told me this was not possible at any time. 3. ZERO email response from customer service on the two occasions I had questions / problems. 4. I asked for a refund considering they do not provide the services their website says they provide - no reply, no refund.

And if they deny, I still have the emails and screenshots if anyone wants to see.

Expost after 2 years experience

We’ve been using Expost for the last 2 years. And about to renew again for a 3rd year. Whilst we travel around Europe in our van. Without this service this life wouldn’t be possible. It’s been outstanding, we use the Telford location. And have no problems whatsoever. Everything works perfectly. Is really good value And the staff are very helpful and extremely quick to respond to any queries. Highly recommended if you want to live on the road as we do. The only downside is that the DVLA will not recognise an Expost address for purposes of vehicle registration. Which is a bureaucratic nonsense and obviously not Expost’s fault. I understand that they are currently lobbying government.

Dissatisfied to put it bluntly

Dissatisfied to put it bluntly. Mail is taking on average 12 to 14 weeks between being posted and registering as received by expost. Waited 11 weeks with still no sign. Cancelled and reordered to the local bank branch and was there in 2 days. If it was only 1 item I'd put it down to a one off but it's happening with every piece of mail. Rang expost to raise concerns to be told it was Royal Mails fault. I can't see how that can be true

- Super confusing user experience so far.
- they promise quick refund which they refuse to send and just ignore refund request.
- support reacted only after I posted review here (3 days passed).
- flags negative reviews on trust pilot for removal as a way to silence real customers.

Hi Yuriy, I am very confused by your review, you joined us yesterday, we do not lock accounts, however, they do have unvilified status until you Anti money laundering checks are completed.
Following our communication with you it appeared that you were using you email address and not your key number to login. On our login page i clearly displays key number.

I am aware just now that the team did not dispatch 7 documents in May of this year and miss 7 cars plated and 1 debit card in the last shipment on demand. The 7 documents are in the today delivery.
I am pretty upset! No words. The damage is terrifying for us. I have just contacted our Solicitors. I get all proofs of my complaint. Be careful to deal with expost!

Expost provides a generally reliable mail forwarding service across the UK, with a user-friendly dashboard and efficient branches, especially in Telford Mainland. Many long-term users appreciate their professionalism and Brodie’s helpfulness. While most experiences are positive, some customers have noticed occasional delays with mail processing and communication. Overall, Expost is a solid choice, but there's room for improvement in response times.

THREE AND A HALF YEARS OF EXCELLENT ASSURED SERVICE

I have just closed my account after three and a half years because I now have a permanent address and no longer need the service. I used the service because we lived on a boat and had no permanent abode whilst we sailed round the UK coasts. My family of 4, my Ltd Company AND my Royal Mail redirection (from our previous home) service were all included in the one subscription. When HMRC demurred on us using the Expost address, Expost customer services gave me the advice on the wording I had to use in my correspondence with HMRC in order to get HMRC to accept our new address.

I also have to say that during all that time, Expost have provided a superb, effective, efficient and courteous service that has worked pretty much 100%. The only issue I had in those 42 months is one set of forwarded mail that took 10 days to arrive. and this was probably Royal Mail's fault. My query on the matter was dealt with immediately and the information provided was accurate.

The online dashboard is simple to use and enables me to see my mail status, get it sent to where I want and to pay my account dues in a simple intuitive manner. It's not a cutting edge digital app but it does what you need to do without fuss or problems.

I got huge peace of mind as we in remote anchorages and marinas knowing that our mail was being stored and then sent to wherever we were. If we ever need a mail management and forwarding service again, I can't think why I would use anyone else. In fact, if I was in the right place, I would want to run one of their franchises!
