Erskine Veterans Charity Recensioni 

Thank you to all the staff in Erskine Hospital Pearson Hse who rolled out the red carpet of welcomes to my 96yr old mum today , after 6 months moving around hospitals following a stroke she was very warmly welcomed to Pearson House , thank you all for making the transition so easy not just for our Mum Mary but for all her family too. Mum now happily settled , fed watered and washed and enjoying her TV . Thank You all so much xxxx

It is a charity close to my heart. I have been a supporter for many years now.

So simple to donate too . I give every year at this time ,as l remember the sacrifices these people at Erskine made. Also had family who served with one staying at Erskine he was so happy and content . Thank you for all you do for our veterans.

the work that they do is extremely important/veterns are looked after day in day out.

The management at Erskine are awfull especially senior managers
When they decide something there is no compromise with them
My experience with them was awful there was no compassion when they decided to evict my dad Because they couldn’t cope with his Needs even though he was in a dementia Alzheimer’s locked unit and hardly had any mobility
We went to meetings and Derek Barron didn’t even turn up but he issued the decision
This was a dreadful time for us as a family
But when my dad need end of life care they said he could stay. He was in Rivers where the care staff and cleaners and kitchen staff are lovely
I hope no one has to go through being given an eviction notice for a loved one

Ciaran and Emma (her first night) showed up at my door in Cramond, Edinburgh last night collecting for this charity. They were an absolute credit to this wonderful organisation.

This was my late father’s charity so I carry on the tradition. Two of my Great Uncles Robert and William ARMSTRONG The Gordon Highlanders and The Highland Light Infantry died at Passchendale and Loose aged 21yrs and 25yrs. Neither body recovered.

This is one of the most worthy charities on the planet. If you can spare some extra cash, please consider this one. You will be doing a a lot of good. Thanks

My mum spent the last three years of her life at Erskine before passing away Easter weekend 2023.

We could not have asked for a more friendly, supportive or caring place. Mum was admitted from hospital during the early days of the covid pandemic, which was difficult. But even in the face of those very traumatic circumstances the staff and care were exceptional.

I have friends with parents in care. I know that both my experience and mum’s has been happier and generally easier than my friends’.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Erskine to anyone who qualifies for care there.

My dad has been a resident in Yarrow House since Jan 2023. The care he receives is fantastic. Staff have been professional, friendly and approachable at all times. Thank you

My Mum is in the Dementia unit. She is being cared for so well. They look after her physical needs fantastically well making sure she is always well dressed, comfortable, clean and well groomed. They take care of her hair and nails beautifully. These things are important but more importantly they do everything they can to stimulate her, keep her happy and occupied. She is happier now than she has been since she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 9 years ago. The staff are also brilliant at managing my Dad who struggles to accept her diagnosis and doesn’t understand some of her behaviours. They are sensitive, gentle and accommodating of his needs as well. We are kept informed of changes and developments promptly and feel involved in her care. The family is very appreciative of the wonderful care provided to both of our parents by fantastic staff who go above & beyond every day. I can’t recommend Erskine House highly enough, it is an amazing place that I am so happy both of my parents are in.

The care and attention given to both of our parents who are living in Erskine is outstanding. The layers of nursing and medical expertise in house is also outstanding. And all in such lovely surroundings. Knowing that mum and dad are in the very best possible place reduces the pressure and reassures the family.

Dad moved into erskine park care home in may. We cant fault the care dad has received. He is now living rather than existing. He enjoys all the activities and outings. Our visits with dad are quality time rather than having to do so many things and not spend the time with him. All people with dementia deserve care like this.
A model example of how a care home should run

Writing this from the point of view of a sessional worker at the activity centre. From the first time I came to the centre I could feel the community and family vibe. The members and staff make everyone feel so very welcome and the variety of activities on offer for all abilities, skills and likes is immense. Many of the veterans I know will openly say attending the centre has been a life saver for them.

I am a veteran who attends ERMAC, the activity centre.
An excellent charity who can do lots of things for veterans, keeping them active and busy doing all types of activities ie art, computing, genealogy and learning photography also Gym and cookery classes. So wide range and pleasure to go there.

Issues with in incidents which were reportable to Care Inspectorate, and care home manager did not believe the incidents were "reportable". I found this very surprising and also scary. I wondered how many other incidents had gone unreported.
I find mums personal care questionable at times and i appear to be the only person who cleans her fingernails.
The majority of staff have a rapour with mum, are attentive, and excellent carers, however, i have had to request that one named nurse is not a part of mums review due to attitude and demeanor.
I have rated 3 out of 5 due the experiences over the last year. This would be higher if things had been dealt with differently.

Rivers house is a special place and a real home from home experience for mum and the whole family .
The staff are absolutely wonderful and work incredibly hard to make each resident feel special and celebrate their uniqueness . It has been amazing to watch mum become so settled, happy and exceptionally well cared for, in such a short space of time .
It’s been a privilege to get to know the staff there . We genuinely sleep better at night ,knowing she is in the best place with a brilliant team . Day staff /night staff /activities co-ordinators/ chef/ moving in team /office staff , are all exceptional …..we feel a deep sense of gratitude to all the staff at Erskine for first class care ❤️

Our Dad was a resident in Yarrow House for just over 3 years sadly passing away just after Christmas.

Without any doubt the level of care, attention,support and medical help he received was totally outstanding-
as a family we could not have asked for more .

We knew when we left dad (JR)
after every visit we could relax knowing that he was loved by his Erskine family .

My mum recently moved to Erskine Park, it was our first choice and we were very fortunate to get the fairy tale ending, the staff are amazing, their professionalism is a given but the love and care that they all exude is a joy to behold, our family can rest easy knowing mum is in the best place and that we can have quality time with her when we visit, just excellent
