The support for ERA was fantastic. I had some difficulty fitting the lock due to existing door mechanism being old. Guys came out and supported me in resolving the issue.

I've been invited to review my recent experience of dealing with this company. I can't fault the service I received - I ordered a replacement exterior siren battery pack online and received it within a couple of days. It's installed and it works. On the downside, I only realised the old battery pack had failed when I noticed it had stopped flashing and I was under the impression that the app should have warned me. It's a cr@p app that doesn't do very much. Another criticism I have is that their product range is miniscule and whereas I'd like to have an exterior camera linked to my system, I don't seem to be able to purchase one. On the other hand, when I had logging on issues a short while ago, I telephoned them and it got sorted within a couple of hours.

Support and sales department failure
Contacted ERA regarding an existing smart lock with a fault, they never confirmed if spares are available or whether they could recommend a current product to replace it.
The lock was replaced due to lack of communication from ERA. Not very good customer service.

Smart Universal Door Handle
My Blusafe Origin Smart needed replaced but the price has doubled.
The Era Smart Universal Door Handle as all the same features and was as easy to fit
The major bonus with this lock is the geolocation unlocking -as long as I have got my phone on me the door unlocks as get close to it.
Credit card sized key cards to fit in a wallet would be great.
I would recommend this lock.

I asked the help desk to give me some basic information NOT in the user manual and all they did was to refer me back to the user manual. On further enquiry THEY IGNORED ME. It has now been nearly 2 weeks and there has been NO CONTACT. Don't bother with this company.

Please accept my apologies for the delay responding to your review.
The service you have received is definitely not what we aspire to.
In your case, if the wiring of the doorbell doesn't match the diagram in the user manual, you should have been referred to contacting a qualified electrician, as we are not qualified to give that information.
The ERA Protect Video Doorbell, needs voltage at the location of the doorbell of between 8V - 24V, however depending on your current wiring, may not be suitable as is.
Once again, I am sorry for the service you have received on this occasion. Please contact help@eraprotect.com and in the subject line add FAO of Customer Support Manager and we can look into the issue further for you.

Setting up has too many complication , i had a smart challenger before , a cheaper alternative but far easier to get working .

I am sorry that you have not received the expected level of service.
According to the information I can see, you placed an order on Thursday 12 June, for a subscription code, and this was emailed to you with instructions on Friday 13 June, from the details provided on the order.
I have found that you sent a support ticket from a different email address on 20 June 2025, and this was responded to on the same day, with an alternative subscription code.
In this instance, we have not ignored requests for assistance, and apolgise that you feel this way.

I’m not so good with sorting tek out so contacted the help line. They were straight on it sorted everything for me the alarm is first class ( brilliant) I’ve had it four years now and wouldn’t change anything. First class help
They are straight there when you need them all the cameras are very clear and being able to talk to people at the door so great when you’re out

A great product.
Fitted last weekend and did not work. Contacted support and after some discussion they sent a fitter out and sorted the issue.
Unit is now working as required and Smart. Access control by card, fingerprint and phone control.

Touchkey disappointment
I've have had a Touchkey lock for a little while, been replaced twice and possibly needs replacing again, just fails when changing batteries.
The actual product itself, few issues...
If the unit fails there is no manual locking mechanism other than removing the spindle. If you forget to remove it anyone is free to walk in.
The fingerprint sensor isn't great, doesn't like wet weather and doesn't like cold weather. Be prepared to be let down in pouring rain in winter.
There isn't an early warning when batteries are running low via the app, it just seems a no brainer. My experience is some feint audio from the handle outside as the batteries die so I can't get in without rummaging for the key opposed to changing batteries for more consistent use.
Overall feeling, looks and sounds great but a disappointment in practice.

In the majority of cases, if there is an issue with the TouchKey handle then the handle will lock while in its closed case, so it removes the ability for the handle to just be pushed down. In the event this fails, then the spindle does need to be removed to prevent the lock from being opened without the key override.
The fingerprint sensor has been tested to an extensive temperature range, like any device that uses a fingerprint sensor if your finger is wet, it may not work. In these circumstances you will need to wipe the sensor, and your fingerprint before trying again. In the event the fingerprint doesn't work, then it will be a case of using the ERA Smart Home app, or key override.
When the app is used, and the batteries are running low, and replacement is recommended we will send a push notification advising of this.
If the app is not used, and is unlocked using the fingerprint, the handle will also notify when the batteries are running low.
I appreciate that you have experienced an issue with your handle on a couple of occasions and the handle has been changed. The latest change should now resolve the issues for you.

Great system ,easy to set up, a 5 year old could do it.
Why 4 and not 5, and internal sounder is not offered in the accessories, which is a shame , I had to install a siren indoors to accomplish what I required .
