Not a reliable company. Were with them for a year and when we first went into contract they changed our bill package price multiple times before agreeing after going back and fourth for two weeks. Went to renew with them out of convenience, but again they took ages before stating that they wouldn’t renew because we used too much electricity on an unlimited electricity package!!

We’re sorry that you were disappointed with our decision, but we do need to correct some important points in your review.
We did not refuse to renew your package because you had “used too much electricity”. Your existing unlimited package was honoured for its full contractual period, and Epic continued to pay the relevant supplier charges throughout.
During the package, we had already contacted your group because the level of water usage at the property was significantly higher than expected and could potentially indicate a small or undetected leak, to which we received no response to. Although water lost through leaks would ordinarily fall outside the scope of our unlimited package terms, we nevertheless covered the supplier charges incurred under your existing package in this particular situation.
A renewal is a new fixed-price contract and is subject to a fresh review and approval. Once we received the final historic meter information requested from your group, we reviewed the actual supplier costs and circumstances of the property - including the potential leak - and decided that we were not prepared to offer a further fixed-price package for the new period.
That decision did not alter or restrict the unlimited cover you had already received under your previous contract.
We also do not believe it is fair to characterise the renewal as having been refused because we “took ages” to respond. The final information required to complete our review was received on Friday 11th September, and our decision was provided on Tuesday 15th September, within our stated 1-3 working day response period.

Extortionate Price Quotes & Poor Offering
Designed to exploit the fact students will not know the actual price of bills. Received marketing communications stating they had a “great new price”. Said price was over 50% higher than our average annual bills cost, and had slower broadband included. This was for a 3 bedroom semi detached house that is poorly insulated, and so I suspect the markup is even higher on others.
Avoid this, and just spend an hour setting these all up yourself. Evidently a parasitic acting as a middle man where not required.

We arranged our package with them in March 2025 and moved into the house in August 2026 to find there was no WiFi or hot water to start. After conversations they said they were unable to get the WiFi and that they would take it off our bill. Which should’ve taken it down to £50 a month from £78. And that we would get the first month free for the inconvenience. Throughout the year they changed the prices we were paying per month from between 60 and 80. And they then requested extra payments after our contract had expired and didn’t reimburse us for the WiFi expenses we had been paying for and not reviewed despite saying they would. Unbelievably hard to get in touch aswell and not helpful when you could either.

We’re sorry to hear you feel this way, but we do need to clarify a few points as the review does not reflect the package records.
When broadband could not be provided at the property, we removed the broadband element from the package and reduced the monthly price from £87.85 to £73.06 per person per month. The broadband charges for August and September were credited, and the October broadband charge was credited against the November invoice.
The later £73.06 monthly payments were therefore not the original broadband-inclusive price. They were the revised utilities-only package amount after broadband had been removed.
With regards to the July payment, this was not an additional charge for utilities after the package end date. The package cost was split into 12 instalments, with the final instalment due on 1 July.
We have replied to you directly by email with the breakdown and supporting contract notes. If there is a specific payment or credit you believe has not been accounted for, please reply to our email and we will review it further.

Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service - really pleased. Had an issue with an external company who set up an account in my name and told me I had not been paying bills when I was signed up with Epic Utilities. Epic decided to take on my issue and completely sort it out for me, with nothing required from me. Beyond please, and I would recommend them to anybody. Really impressed.

A really good company had absolutely no issues, - had a hiccup with a water company sending us a bill but called and explained we were with epic and called epic and they sorted it out and there were no issues, easy and reliable

Problems with Customer Service
We have tried contacting them regarding the Wifi setup, as we have now had no Wifi since the start of our contract. We have also been receiving letters from local water company and TV licensing to setup, which should be covered in our bills contract from the start of our tenancy which was approved two months before our move in. There is no phone number to contact to have a direct conversation and now can't log into our accounts.

Dealing with Epic has been... epic! I've yet to move into my new house however I decided to go with Epic as my student bills provider and they've been amazing so far.
Upon completing my application, Epic let me know the WiFi package I chose wasn't available at my place and offered to change me to a different provider at no extra cost, despite the package being a bit more expensive.
Epic has been really friendly and the whole process of setting up my bills has been super fast; also, their bill packages are defo the cheapest out there - I'd absolutely recommend! :)
