Really impressed with the quality of meals and range available. Having tried a number of similar services Chefly is way better. Delicious food and so convenient. Even a very minor issue was quickly and efficiently sorted out. Highest recommendation.
Horrendous Customer Service!
Horrible Customer Service Experience
I ordered my first batch there was no problem at all. Even delicious I must say.
On the second occasion I have received some meals and before the end date the sealed packages started swelling.
This is a health and safety issue.
I have advised the customer service. I have suggested that the packaging may be the cause of the issue.
It is to be noted that my sister who is also my flatmate did take the chance to eat healthier as well as and ordered at the same time as part of a family challenge. She experienced the same and sent photos slightly earlier.
CS instantly blamed me for the issue advising that she doesn't have shelf issues and also mentioned she received the same query from my sister and that may be we are using the same photos to get refund.
This gave me no other choice than requesting apologies and sending the photos of all the meals affected all together proving that we are not talking about the same photos and the same meals.
I found the customer service horrendous first of all 0 apologies from the business, then I had to beg to get some credit which I requested to be a refund as I will never ever order from them again.
Little advice for that business:
Hiring someone who is specialized in customer service would be great.
Second I did advise that I had two batches of your deliveries and that the packaging changed so maybe review the packaging before blaming your clients.
Stop being rude with clients. Providing a a good paying service is not a favour but a due.
Don't take me wrong I love the concept. Fresh food prepared every week is a dream however, not under these conditions. I am not paying service to be treated as a liar or a thief.
Good food, not so good communication.
The food is fine however the packaging makes no mention of the fact the food can be frozen. The customer service communication however could do with improving.The message service in the Chefly site says they will usually respond within 2hrs. I messaged daily for 3 days and finally got an email response on the 3rd day. Not long after making my initial Trust pilot review, as it happens. I have now edited that review given recent developments.

Sorry, I really wanted to like this service. Unfortunately, the tandoori chicken box came with undercooked chicken, which became extremely obvious after biting in before realising how pink and slimy it looked. Avoid if I were you

Absolutely shocking customer service…
Absolutely shocking customer service and quality control. I was initially happy with the service as meals were well portioned and food nicely prepared, but after biting into a rock the size of my thumbnail which caused damage to my tooth that needed immediate dental work I quickly changed my mind. The customer service has been shocking to say the least, extremally slow response from the chat service and when they finally did respond it was only to say they have credited 1 meal back to my account, I requested a complaint be raised but this request was ignored. I will be taking legal action as this is truly revolting to think what else might be allowed to slip into your meals if a stone this size is allowed to be sealed in. The meal was Chicken and mushroom black rice risotto.

Very impressed with our first order
Very impressed with our first order. We’re very busy people and prepping / thinking about dinner every night becomes quite stressful & just another mundane thing (even though I’m a huge foodie and I love cooking).
Chefly is a game changer, we have three nights covered now & it’s so lovely to have a bit of relief knowing we have fresh tasty food already prepped.
The food is so delicious and well prepped, especially well packed too.
Very impressed and very happy customer & it’s only been one order.

We really enjoyed the juice cleanse. The juices were great, and we hardly had any hunger.
Fantastic selection with great variety. Thoroughly recommend them.
The customer service is really poor..
The customer service is really poor... I restarted my subscription again after a few years away and it still had my old address on the system (I did forget to update it but I think if the site asked you to confirm it after restarting an old subscription, that would be an improvement).
Anyway, the only contact details they have on their website are email and online chat, I left messages on both and it took them 4 days to respond during which time the meals were just delivered to my old address, so they're lost.
I've used quite a few other meal prep companies and have always been able to sort things like this out but not with Chefly.
I've cancelled my subscription again... they are expensive enough to warrant better customer support.

I’ve been using Chefly on and off for a few years now and really like the food - and especially the fact that much of it is packed with different vegetables and all reasonably low in calories.
Recently, it has been great to see more recipes added, but my favourites remain the rosemary salmon and the tandoori chicken.
Over the years I have been using the service, the website usability has improved and it is now much easier to pause orders or unsubscribe (it’s then easy to pick things up again down the line if you decide you want to re subscribe).
Agreed that it isn’t cheap - and I’m never sure what to do with the recycled wool packaging - but I’ve found that the meals offer a great way to control calories and get closer to my 30 plants a week goal.
Quality control needs improvement
Whilst I like the meals, I am now fed up of every single delivery there being holes in the packaging meaning that the food is unsafe to eat.
They tell me it is due to seeds breaking the vacuum seal but again today, I had a meal no seeds and a hole.
You get the usual refund on to your next order but I don't want that. I want my money back especially when it is nearly £9 a meal. I keep giving them a try as I like the quality of the actual food but their quality control on packaging is dreadful.
I have also had an order where they sent it to the wrong address, the next day sent new meals but with someone else's delivery note within the box ie providing their personal details to me (not even crossed out or attempting to). Complete GDPR breach!
Disappointing
I was looking forward to trying my first Chefly box after using another service for a while. The food arrived and the first thing I want to say is that I find the packaging extremely unsustainable, huge amount of plastic and recycled fibre blanket, which I struggled to know what to do with. So on to the food, the brisket was tasty, but the portion size was ridiculously small, the kofte was rock hard and last nights moorish chicken was so unbelievably dry and herbs and spices that were crunchy at best. I have changed to try an alternative food prep brand but in all honestly I am so disappointed with Chefly, Asda ready meals taste better.

Excellent customer care AND delicious…
Excellent customer care AND delicious meals! I kicked off a trial for my parents who after long days looking after the grandkids wanted a meal that was a. nutritious and b. quick to prepare.
Kaja could not be more helpful. I set the order up and realised the next day they were going to be at a different address, even though it was too late to change the delivery on the website Kaja was accessible and quick to help me switch the address.
As it was a trial I also had help deleting my account - instead, my parents who have tried 3 of the 8 meals will take it on.
PS -I read a review that talked about the food being small and bad tasting. Taste is subjective and going on the majority of the posts, I still felt confident. My mother is a very good cook so I was still unsure they would like the meals but actually - they loved the meals! The rosemary salmon - looks delicious (I've seen the whatsapp photos... I think I need my own account)...
It's great to know that there is a reliable and nutritious meal service and Chefly provides this option - it's great to be able to support parents when you live away - nutrition is key to healthy ageing and all!

Poor quality and inedible
I'm no stranger to prepped meals but I have just received my first delivery from Chefly and have been really disappointed.
Unfortunately I had to bin all my six meals. The quality of the meat and chicken was so poor and the overall taste was worse than a very poor school dinner. I cooked one, then tried another and they were just completely inedible mush with meat I could barely cut into.
I regularly order from a different site and just fancied a change as the meals, although fantastic, can get a bit samey after a while. I looked at a number of companies and chose Chefly on the basis of the reviews I read here. So that's why I felt compelled to write this review unfortunately. This is very far from quality food and I'm not sure how others have managed to give such high ratings. I'm down the money, but also have no evening meals for the next few days. Being mostly housebound, this has a huge impact on me and I don't waste food lightly either. I would not recommend.
Edited to add that I did contact Chefly but didn't have any follow up apart from just to ask me what was wrong (again). I responded and chased, but sadly no reply at all, so also poor customer service - still 1 star (would give 0 if I could).

Fake nutrition values
How did you achieve 50 grams of protein with 60 grams of meat and 10 grams of beans? I can't believe that this is legal.
The only reason for the 2 stars is the meal was tasty and the meat was a nice cut.
