Four of us booked the Tsarengeld train package from Beijing to Moscow with an add on to St. Petersburg. We worked with Bobby at East West Tours, who was an excellent agent. He did everything including securing our visas for China and Russia. We couldn't have done it without him. Our add-on in St. Petersburg stay was great. We loved the hotel and our personal guide. There was one hiccup on a transfer and he fixed it quickly. I am a retired travel agent and have dealt with many tour operators and I can sincerely say that East West tours is one of the best.

Alex helped us plan out Honeymoon in Hawaii! He was an excellent resource considering that this will be our first time in Hawaii and we didn't know anything. Alex suggested that we should go to Maui for a true Hawaiian experince. His recommendations were extremely helpful and he worked with us to stay within our budget! He was able to find us a great rate for a hotel and a rental car! Thank you for the great service!

I am still waiting for a response to my email (more than 1 year now). I had to cancel our tour because my husband had trauma to his head and underwent a craniectomy (he was missing a part of his skull for 4 months.). I advised East West Tours on 2 occasions and sent an official letter from the hospital wanting to know our options. This was in April 2014 and the company did not have the decency to reply. Our trip was booked for late August 2014 so there was ample time given. Would I book with them again - no way!!

Trip to Moscow and St. Petersburg was excellent. Enjoyed it immensely. Never beem on a tour where I was the only participant.
HOTELS - Hotels were both modern first class establishments with English-speaking staff, good restaurants, in walking distance to major tourist attractions.
FOOD - I guess I was expecting boiled potatoes and cabbage, so I found the food delicious, especially in St. Petersburg. First time for blini, palmini, borscht, and kvass among other treats.
GUIDES - Alexey in Moscow was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, professional, very good English. My Guide in St. Petersburg, Masha, was a treasure. Very pleasant to be with. Introduced me to traditional Russian food. Made my brief stay in St. Petersburg very enoyable. Can't say enough about Masha.
OVERALL - A great trip.

I've had great experience working with Alex. He has helped me get a Russian visa multiple times, letting me know which documents are important and which ones to leave out. For those of you born in the former Soviet Union, this process got way more complicated in the last several years but they will guide you through the process with whatever documents you do have.

I've booked several flights with Alex. Prices are better than other online sites, especially when you have multiple connections and/or stops along the way.

Great service and communication, flexible when it comes to short notice trips, and very helpful.

We had a wonderful time in St Petersburg - it is such a great place, but best to see with a guide. Our guides were great but particularly Tatyana really made extra efforts to help us with things. The hotel was fantastic and well located. The folk show was very enjoyable and the palaces were amazing. The only negative was that it would have been good to know that the boat cost extra for everything, except the breakfast and that in St Petersburg it seemed only Rubles were accepted (and not Euros). It also would have been good to know other options of things to do ie. like the theatre but Tatyana helped us get tickets for the ballet which was really good.
Having said that St Petersburg was the highlight of our trip (we went to 5 other countries). Wendy B.

East West Tours arranged our trip to Russia a few years ago. We stayed at the hotel Aquamarine in Moscow and Petro Palace in St. Petersburg. Both hotels were recommended and booked by East West Tours. They were good 4* properties, centrally located, with fairly large rooms and good service, and very delicious buffet breakfasts. We took an overnight train from Moscow to St. Petersburg. At first we were hesitant about taking the night train and concerned about comfort and security but the agent from East West Tours assured us that we would like it and she was 100% right! It turned out to be quite comfortable and we were able to sleep through the night. The tour guide in St. Petersburg deserves a special mention, she was a gem! Perfect English, encyclopedic knowledge of the subject, patience and willingness to go an extra mile to keep her tourists happy. Both drives and the guide in Moscow were good too. This was a memorable trip and we were lucky to have East West Tour arrange it for us.

Our experience was uniformly excellent. First, the itinerary, itself, introduced us to a Russia we didn't know existed (the Golden Ring). The guides were warm, relaxed and friendly, with good English proficiency and wonderful depth of knowledge (art, history, practical tourist-type questions). The planned meals were very good, and the guide recommendations for unescorted meals werre superb. Tour time versus free time was well balanced, though it is busy ---there is so much to see and you wouldn't want to miss anything! Also, and maybe I should have said this first...the PLANNING process was a breeze because East-West did all the difficult paperwork. Getting the appropriate visas and permission to see what you want to see can be daunting, but East-West seamlessly took care of it all.

The tours were comprehensive, the guides were friendly and very informative. The guides took what were uninteresting facts we learned in school and made them fascinating stories about real people and provided us with a breakdown of point of views, reasons for things occurring as well as separating truth from fiction.

Every detail of the trip was well thought out and made simple to understand. The accommodations were first class and addressed every need from the smallest to biggest. And at the same time they allowed for one to have down time to relax or wander and explore on your own.

Thank you for a FABULOUS experience!!! I would highly recommend this tour to everyone I meet!!!

Our Russian vacation was one of the best of our lives. Everything went well. Everyone was on time and where they should have been. We enjoyed each guide. They were all different, which made it all the more interesting. It was hard to pick a favorite. Nobody played "my country is better than yours" and we did not play that game either. It did not seem appropriate. Still there was no topic that was off the table, so we had very many stimulating discussions with our Russian guides.

As far as Russia itself, I think we learned more in two weeks than I would have imagined. The guides were so informative. Both Moscow and especially St. Petersburg were beautiful. St. Petersburg has replaced Rome as my wife's favorite city. As you predicted, we never felt threatened. There was the expected awkwardness that comes with the language problem, but I never felt discriminated against because I asked "do you speak English." I suppose the fact that we were willing to go to Russia when others were not speaks for itself. But I now feel even more comfortable with Russia.
I should pitch Dora. She encouraged us to remain in the tour when everyone else was scared off because of Crimea. It would have been easier for her to cancel the whole tour. Organizing a tour for 2 brave people must have consumed much of her time with little financial reward. She showed no regrets or hesitations. She was always easy to deal with.

We have returned from an incredible trip to Scandinavia and the Baltic countries arranged by East West and Nordic Saga Tours in May. The trip was dedicated to my 50th birthday anniversary that I wanted to spend in my hometown. I haven’t been to Vilnius for 30 years and needless to say, this was one amazing experience. The agency planned every detail of our trip: airfare on SAS, private transfers, comfortable centrally located Novotel, private sightseeing tours in Vilnius, Trakai, Kaunas and Palanga.
Customer service was top notch, an agent was very knowledge and professional and answered all of my concerns in a timely manner.
Highly recommended.

I used East West Tours to arrange my trips to Russia several times. They are very experienced and always able to secure the least expensive airfare with good connections. They follow up with seat assignments and reconfirm my flights before departure. If there is a schedule change they will make alternative arrangements. Unfortunately they weren’t able to assign seats on my last Air France ticket but I understand this wasn’t their fault since all airlines started to charge for seats lately.

I can not say enough positive about the professionalism, attention to detail and organization plus the knowledge of the staff assembled by East West - tours for my 3 week trip to Russia. Originally I had planned to spend only 2 days in ST Petersburg but Dora pointed out that I would not do the city justice in just 2 days, I changed to 4 days and do not regret the decision for a moment, truly one of the great cities in the world with so much history. Traveled on to Moscow and than took the Trans-Siberian RR thru Russia over to Mongolia.

The scheduling and attention to detail made all go as needed, with everyone on time. The hotel recommendations were excellent quality hotels with staff that was well informed about local restaurants and bars. The hotels were typically in the heart of the city where all the action was
On the trip I had 6 different tour guides each extraordinarily knowledgeable about Russian history and Mongolia, felt very safe and having a driver in addition to the guide made travel much simpler.
