I rarely leave negative reviews, but Squarespace has been the most frustrating company I’ve ever dealt with. Google Domains forced me into their system after the acquisition, and it has been nothing but a headache.

Here’s what happened:
I bought a domain through Google Domains, planning to build my website later. When I finally logged in, I saw a 10-day suspension warning and needed to verify my email. No big deal—just click a link, right?

Wrong. The verification email NEVER arrived.

So, I tried live support, only to find out there’s no phone option. Instead, they claim to have "24/7 live support"—which is completely false. It’s just a bot with no AI or actual intelligence that can’t answer basic domain verification questions.

No real humans. No real help.

After five days of troubleshooting (on top of running my business), I emailed them directly. It took another five days AND a follow-up just to get a response—and when I finally did, it was a useless copy-paste answer linking to an unhelpful webpage.

At this point, my business launch has been delayed entirely because of them. If I had known, I would have never used Squarespace and instead gone with Namecheap, which is 10x easier and 20x faster.

I’m seriously considering moving all my domains away from Squarespace after this. If you’re thinking about registering a domain here—don’t.

Squarespace transfer disaster is a stain on the company and hopefully will be more widely reported.

They fed us to the wolves. We were transferred to Squarespace and I purchased a new domain with Squarespace. Their platform has failed to send me a confirmation email for verification. I have received no customer support for this issue at all.

Very bad service - I lost 5 domains because of them
They made me lose my domains because whenever I try to pay or change the credit card it was not accepting any new credit card.. This is really bad service. They sold to squarespace and after selling the support suddenly became very bad. I don't deny they had an awesome customer service on 2022 but in the middle of the year 2023 they started becoming manipulative.

contacted support to get access to our domain which was locked (including preventing us from gaining email acces). During the process we had one helpful support person but still required multiple reply emails for simple ETA updates. Then they changed our details to include the wrong email address which wasn't even included in the email chain which led to us being locked out for much longer than necessary. How they could make a massive mistake which put our company out of a website and email address for a week is ridiculous. It is hard to workout how much the process cost us but it was awful, every domain since has been with a different provider

whatever you do......dont !!!! if you are not technical and you are setting up an email domain for work etc stay well clear of google domains, you will receive the opposite of customer support. I have a few domains one is with Fasthosts, if you have the most insignificant issue you call them and they sort it, for anything major they take the problem off you. Google ? well basically you get to click on "help" they send you a massively technical knowledge article and if you cant remedy your problem you have to go to a 3rd party support company for help. I will never register another domain with google more stress than the small reduction in expense

This has been the worst registrar I have ever used. Terrible DNS settings, terrible integration, and an unreliable service. The DNS settings prove Google's push into minimalism at the detriment of the end-user. For any people considering Google Domains, I'd recommend Namecheap or GoDaddy for a good registrar.

If I could give 0 I would. Never use Google domains

2 years since I’ve deleted my domain and they are STILL taking payment for a workspace account linked to it yet are refusing to allow me to cancel anything.

I’ve sorted this through the bank already but they’ve somehow bypassed that and are now charging me yet again.

The support with google was a very frustrating experience due to the person refusing to give me support with someone who can better assist me. I will no longer be using them. The chat was also disabled so I can no longer continue getting help from someone else. If the worker doesn't know the answers I would recommend them giving me to someone who does instead of telling me "I need you to trust me on this and do as I say" without trying to answer the questions I asked previously. I don't recommend google because of this experience.

Google criminals.... but what do they care?
companies like thse SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO EXIST.
They have locked my domain and good luck getting to a literally nonexistent "customer services"

google domains is expensive, plus very slow support, also they suspended my domain from mere DMCA. I will not recommend domains.google to anyone!

if you have a business please do not use Google Domains, they have the worst customer support ever, Annie the Senior Support Specialist needs to be fired as she clearly doesnt know what customer support is, she was rude and just continued to blame me as the customer for issues that were clearly from their side.

Register one domain but never got a direction domain link. No customer service. Site don’t work domain. Never had experience like that

Jeg har skrevet flere gange til virksomheden om opsigelse, men de svarer bare med, at de nu foretager en automatisk fornyelse. Vi betaler vedvarende for et produkt vi ikke kan bruge og hvor vi ikke kan få lov at melde os ud.

Horrible and rude service. No one cares about your business at Google Domains. Just another money grabbing mafia product from these scumbags. GoDaddy is much better.

Totally useless. Got my domain and linked my website to it. Every time I try to find my site I get an error message. There is no email address shown to contact them directly so I can't get this resolved. They have a cr*ppy help service that just asks you to type a phrase and then it gives you a list of possible solutions that do not work. So fed up with this and I can't even contact them to get my money back. Sc*mbags!

En 10 mois je n'ai jamais réussi à connecter mon domaine à mon serveur. Je viens d'essayer avec Hostinger, en deux jours c'était fait.
In 10 months, I never success to link my domain to my server. I just tried with Hostinger and in 2 days it was ok.

Beware with google domain.While creating we didn't notice accidental special character even system doesn't warned. After a month realized we end up creating domain with small special character actual. domain already taken by some. The only solution they suggested cancel and create new domain.

No refund by showing 5 day refund policy customer support is poor. I don't recommend google domain better look for other altenative which charging much less price for first year
