We have travelled all over the world and our five days on the Discovery is one of the highlights of our years of travel. Calving glaciers, sea otters, puffins, towering mountains, fascinating history and cultural information from Hugh and Dean, and delicious food cooked by Meg made this trip truly special. Highly recommended.

We knew we were looking for something extraordinary. We'd narrowed it down to a small boat and a smaller one (Discovery Voyage), loving the idea of getting into all those quiet fjords that the big ships can't reach, and having experts make informed decisions responsive to each day's conditions and opportunities. We were a little nervous about sharing close quarters for a stretch of time - what if personalities might not mesh, etc. How glad we were to have every worry just melt away. This phenomenal experience exceeded our hopes and dreams, and my trust in the crew meant I could truly relax instead of managing every detail of our vacation as I usually do! The warmth, knowledge, and openness of the DV team just made it all even more special on top of the unique experiences and encounters with nature every day. What an unforgettable experience - it was worth every penny.

We and our family and friends had the most amazing time on the Discovery this past July 4th week. Capt Cook, aka Meg, made sure we never went hungry with the incredibly delicious homemade gourmet meals. The 2 knowledgeable and sweet guides Katie and Ashley accompanied us on every off-boat excursion, answering all our questions about flora and fauna, and when on the boat, made sure our every need was met. Capt Dean, the Prince William Sound living legend, crafted each day to expose us to the splendor of Alaska - dropping anchor in beautiful and quiet coves, and leading us on amazing hikes and kayaks where not many other people are able to go - such as following animal tracks up a river, or kayaking through the ice floes with enormous glaciers at our backs. Every day brought new adventure and jaw-dropping beauty, chock full of wildlife sightings, majestic mountain and glorious glaciers. We can't recommend this Discovery small boat voyage enough!!!

Discovery Voyages totally exceeded any expectations I may have had. From the great adventures and incredible food, this was a once in a lifetime trip. The wildlife from humpback whales and puffins, to otters and sea lions was amazimg. I would highly recommend this adventure to everyone.

Incredible experience! The entire trip was top knotch from the start to the finish. Food was awesome!! The Crew’s knowledge of the area was entertaining and informative!! Definitely recommend it!! 3 days was not enough! We will be back in 2027!

The cruise was a perfect mix of traveling through Prince William Sound on a beautiful boat and shore excursions that got us up close looks at the environment.

We hiked through an upland bog. We kayaked with sea otters and harbor seals. We even hiked to an abandoned gold mine!

Meg and Dean were fabulous hosts, and we had Katie and Carolyn as our field experts. All of their knowledge level was impressive. Deans ability to know areas is incredible and finding areas of interest accommodated our entire group. And of course Meg's cooking was outstanding bordering on gourmet. Definitely the type of experience my wife and I were up for.

Wow wow wow! What a unique and special experience. Truly a trip of a lifetime. Meg and Dean were exceptional hosts, and our trip was incredible on the simply stunning Prince William Sound, experiencing the magnificent grandeur and wildlife in a very personal way. We met new friends, and we could not fault anything at all. Shipmates Katie and Julia were equally so amazing, always attentive, and for a small boat experience, the whole team operated in synch and delivered a trip we will never forget. Thank you Meg and Dean, Katie and Julia, for your passion, deep knowledge, faultless service, and always kind and personal ways of everything you did for us. We always felt we were like your first and only trip! Keep doing what you are doing, and we hope to join you again in one of your amazing trips.

Dean and Megan and crew got us up close and personal with wildlife and glaciers in indescribably-beautiful Prince William Sound. With his decades of experience in those waters, Dean made the area come to life with his stories, and made me feel safe. The food was top-notch; I brought home several of Megan's recipes. The guides were personable and knowledgeable. Sharing this incredible experience with our adult sons was delightful beyond description.

An unparalleled experience. The crew is absolutely incredible and we went places and saw things that I don’t think other trips can offer. The food was also amazing.

The Discovery Alaska Voyage captained by Dean and Meg is definitely something worth writing home about! The whole crew and our guides Katie and Ashley made this experience unforgettable and perfect! And the great Alaskan frontier amazes with unparalleled nature and wildlife as always. Highly recommend 10/10!

We had high expectations when we decided to travel with Discovery Voyages. Those expectations were met and greatly exceeded! Dean is so knowledgeable of The Prince William Sound that he is able to take his passengers to places most people will never see. We hiked in areas that are wild and pristine and thus got to feel the land. As we kayaked we experienced the water and landscape more personally than just from the cruise boat. We also kayaked amongst icebergs. Dean was is a personable fun loving guy and a joy to visit in the wheelhouse. His wife, Meg, produces meals in a small galley that were unbelievably tasty, gourmet food that many restaurants with large kitchens wish they could produce. Our natruralist on board, Hugh, knows everything about everything!! He is also a great photographer. Julia was everywhere helping everyone whether in the kitchen, hiking, kayaking or just being there to help in any capacity. She is a happy, smiling joy to have on board.
The Discovery Voyage is the only way to cruise in Alaska. Check it out!

This was really the trip of a lifetime! We loved every minute of the trip. The boat was really comfortable and well-appointed. The crew was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They really went all out to make sure our trip was fantastic, and the food was amazing! We had really hoped to see a lot of wildlife and we were not disappointed. We saw whales, bears, otters, seals, sea lions, mountain goats, and too many sea bird species to mention (but the Puffins were really the stars). The glacier viewing was so much more than what we had expected. We went on wonderful hikes and kayaking adventures. We got great pictures and wonderful memories. We highly recommend Discovery Voyages!

I wish I could give more stars. This absolutely superb small boat adventure of Prince William Sound was the trip of a lifetime. I cannot recommend it highly enough. My daughter Sophie and I travel annually and this was our BEST. TRIP. EVER. The staff were brimming with knowledge, helpful, sensitive and all we could possibly imagine. The food was, every day and every meal, 5 star - local fare, interesting, simply delicious. Kayaking up to the glaciers, and seeing the abundance of wildlife exceeded my expectations. Be aware, as you would expect, that the accommodations are certainly "cozy" and 3 cabins share a bathroom. Pack your woolies (including wool hat, gaiter and good winter waterproof gloves). The rain gear and boots that were provided were perfect for the Alaska weather. I would repeat this trip in a heartbeat. Thank you Dean, Megan, Julie and Kate!

Fabulous 6 day, 5 night cruise. Loved all the glacier viewing from the boat. Dinner next to a glacier was such a beautiful & peaceful experience.

Loved the kayaking amongst the ice pieces, would have liked to have kayaked more.

Food and guides/crew were amazing. Lots of knowledge about the area and the wildlife in Prince William Sound.

We felt complete confidence in the captains and crew from day one: their experience on land and sea, their constant *joy* in being available to us for any questions (on wildlife, geology, history, technology) and loved hearing captivating personal stories.
Yet! we were free to indulge in bird watching, otter spotting, and a few black bear sightings at a safe distance. We enjoyed conversations w/our travel mates - we made fast friends, loved everyone! The meals were all unique, beautiful and delicious!!
Every inch was comfortably cozy.
I feared claustrophobia, but instead I felt free and safe at every moment outdoors and on board. I was relaxed even in my little bunkbed hearing the thunder of a calving glacier.

Exceptional experience including wildlife watching of otters, whales, bald eagles, hiking, kayaking in Prince-William sound. Afterwards incredible encounters with coastal brown bears (Grizzly) at Silver Salmon lake.

Discovery Voyages exceeded expectations on many levels. The crew members were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding at every meal. Switching from the Discovery to Silver Salmon Creek Lodge was seamless and accommodations in Anchorage were very nice. Loved the small group experience!

Once in a lifetime experience! Captain Dean, Chef Meg, Guides Julia, and Katie made the experience superb. Gourmet cuisine, adventurous hiking, glorious kayaking and animal sightings were among just a few of the highlights! The overnight stops superb!!! The accommodations in Anchorage were also a plus. Kudos to the crew, can’t say near enough.

The captain, the crew, the guides, the boat, the food are all as good as it gets. You will see and do things the average visitor does not get to do. if you are interested in Alaska you will learn more than you thought possible.
