We searched on line for a company who would be prepared to travel to the Lake District to supply two stainless steel handrails for a Spa building erected in our garden.
At first I was reticent to add handrails to a Lakeland stone construction. fearing they may ‘cheapen’ the overall beauty of the new building,
I really had no choice as building regulators could not be signed off without the handrails.
We decided to get the stairs measured up by Dio-Met and the surveyor was very helpful and friendly giving advice on how to errct the rails when they arrived.
The handrails arrived exactly on time and fitted perfectly.
I have to say my scepticism was unfounded the rails are of a very high quality and improve the sense of quality.
Financially Dio-Met were slightly cheaper than another quote we had but having dealt with Rob on a few queries I had would have paid much more for the help and service he provided.

Living in the Isle of Man getting hold of glass is difficult but Dio-met said yes to my order of 4 glass shelves (toughened). They arrived in due course extremely well packed and I am delighted with them.

We ordered a washing line pole and ground post
Bit of a false start with the ground post not arriving and the pole being chipped but Dio-Met did everything they possibly could and had delivered a new pole and post within 24 hours.

I had nothing short of excellent personal service; From placing my order on 01/11/2024 to the delivery of same on 07/11/2024 It arrived well wrapped and packaged by a pleasant and thoughtful driver. Communication between myself and Dio-Met Fabrications representative were pleasant, informative and personal. Nothing was too much trouble. And the telephone contact was very refreshing in this digital age.

The standard security bars were not suitable for my shed, so I dsicussed with Dio-Met and they agreed to make bespoke ones to suit. They are fitted, very robust and work perfectly - very pleased!

Nothing as grand as a walk on balcony but my experience of purchasing a washing line pole was nothing but brilliant. Sarah was amazing throughout and helped me to determine what I needed and then Matt and his guys did the rest. We needed a couple of telephone conversations to get everything just as it should be but a sense of humour prevailed and I couldn’t be happier.
Great company to transact with. Would recommend without hesitation.

After doing some research on walk out balconies, I decided on dio-met as my choice for a number of reasons. First the communication with Rob and Adam was first class…they literally held my hand throughout the many questions I had and the design process and tweaks and changes. Secondly their long standing pedigree as a company and their reviews on here. Thirdly, the price and the fact they only use steel underside supports as opposed to wooden ones that some companies still use.
I ordered a 3x2 metre infinity glass balcony, paid the deposit and from there they kept me informed and send me a test build of the balcony base to keep me in the loop of progression.
I opted for the full installation package including footings being dug out and come delivery day, Jason and Richard turned up on time and got to work. They were just brilliant, chatty, helpful and knowledgable. I even got stuck in with them by helping to dig the footings.
I really enjoyed seeing it come together and it’s bloody heavy work as these things are made to measure and solid and heavy. Bomb proof!
I’ll pop some pics up if I can/permitted but I have to say this company are just first class. I have had nothing but excellent support throughout and the installation team were just fantastic.
I’m just glad I paid the extra money to have the installation done as it’s a meaty piece of kit to put together!

Dio-Met were professional until the end. They were amazing over email, phone and face-to-face. Their communication to understand my end-to-end balcony needs were second to none and completely filled me with confidence from start to end. From the drawings, structural, engineer visit to the professional installation, it was all smooth and hassle free and I've ended up with the most fabulous balcony. They even helped me with the questions for the building inspector!

I purchased a full balcony set of glass and stainless steel fittings from Dio-Met almost 14 years ago and got a right first time delivery which we fitted ourselves.
One of the posts we fitted recently came loose which may have caused one of the panes to shatter. Typically it was the specially cut at an angle privacy pane with holes at different angles from the standard.
I called Rob at Dio-Met in the hope they may still have the plans and thankfully they had and ordered a straight replacement which arrived in due course and is now fitted.
Thanks Rob for helping out in what was a relatively small order but important for us as a family.

I wish I'd read these reviews before ordering - big mistake! We ordered a glass well cover which was was produced and delivered by Diomet and then fitted by our own fitter. The evening after it was fitted when we came to clean the glass we realised there was a mark in between the two sheets of glass that were stuck together to form the well cover. Its not a big mark but the eye is drawn to it. I informed Diomet and they said it was their sub contractor who was at fault and they would get their opinion on the matter. The sub-contractor said he wanted to see the glass before confirming that they were at fault and paying for a replacement. Diomet therefore decided to go ahead and order ta replacement glass so that they could send the sub-contractor the faulty glass and get a refund. They then informed me that the glass had been ordered. When I enquired about the removal of the faulty glass and the replacement of the new glass I was told that the costs for doing this would have to be born by us. This meant, therefore, that because of faulty goods provided by Diomet we would be over £200 out of pocket! I therefore emailed Diomet immediately and told them to halt the production of the replacement glass until I had checked whether we were in fact liable for these additional costs as we had, in good faith, purchased goods from them and due to their faulty workmanship/quality controls we were to be penalised. I then got a very aggressive and upsetting phone call from the owner who would not let me say anything, just kept talking over me and basically refusing to listen to what I had to say. His points were: he was only trying to help by going ahead and ordering a replacement glass without checking with me first ('trying to help' - isn't replacing faulty goods part of running a business). Accused me of taking an aggressive stance by stopping production of replacement glass until I had checked the validity of his claim that I had to pay for the replacement to be fitted. I kept saying please let me talk, please let me say something but he kept shouting over me a) that it was my fault for disposing of the packaging pallet; that he was trying to help and that I had only ordered a delivered, not fitted, item from him and therefore it was up to us to pay for the refitting - I finally managed to ask him how he would feel if he was provided with a £lk+ product that was faulty - paid to have it fitted and then had to pay again to have it unfitted and a new one refitted. He said "if you bought a torch online, took that torch to Australia and found it was faulty would you expect the supplier to pay for the air fare" - as I'm typing this I find it hard to believe anyone could make such an analogy? I did try and say there was no comparison but he just kept shouting, " I tried my best'. 'I have answered your emails immediately' (wow, you supply a faulty £lk+ piece of glass and you expect the customer to be grateful because you have answered their emails immediately???} Despite all my efforts to ask him to listen to me he wouldn't. In no way did it feel like a phone call to try and resolve matters; it felt like a phone call to bully and dominate and vent anger. I still suspect that if tables were turned he would not be happy if he had to pay an additional £200+ to replace faulty goods. I really wish I had read and taken heed of these reviews before ordering from Diomet!

Dio-met built our balcony for us last year and did an amazing job. We were clear in our minds what we wanted and looked through the many examples on their website and decided this was the company for us. We met with them at their factory and talked through the design we wanted. The plans we extremely detailed and these really reassured us that the final result would be exactly as we wanted and that this company really knew what they were doing. Once the balcony was made they very kindly let us pop into the factory to see it assembled and we were so impressed and very excited to get it home and fitted. We opted to fit it ourselves which I was a little apprehensive about but the plans were spot on and it all just went together like a giant Meccano set. 6 months on and we are really appreciating it as the weather turns nicer we are spending more time on it. Its like an extra room to our house and without a doubt has increased the value of our property. We are the envy of our neighbours (who have wooden balconies which they spend every summer cleaning and treating and repairing). I would recommend this company to anyone wanting to add a balcony to their property. They are amazing.

Realy good quality product. Also fantastic customer service. I have recently moved and mixed up post code so original delivery didn't happen. I spoke to Sarah who sorted out a quick turn around and delivered a couple of days late very pleased with the new Clothes line Post!

Rob provided a design for handrails which exactly met my needs and the product is top quality.

After much ploughing about on t'internet looking for washing poles I came across Dio-Met. The prices are excellent, delivery was fast and the driver really helpful. The posts are good quality (although I'll need to wait 60 years to see if they're as good as the originals:)).
I hope I have an excuse to order from Dio-Met again.

Small bespoke order, but they treated it with care and expedience. Arrived earlier than expected, bonus, great quality.

We ordered a bespoke balcony from Dio-Met which arrived on time and to the specification. When we rang to confirm some technical details, the engineer/designer we spoke with was really helpful, and when we got in touch again later, regarding some other issues, got the same excellent and timely response from the management. The fact that the building inspector commented on the excellent quality of the steel fabrication, and that the fitters also found it straight forward to install, was equally reassuring. Would definitely recommend.

I wanted a bespoke stainless steel balustrade for my house. Dio-met created a CAD drawing for my review and incorporated my comments before proceeding to manufacture.
The actual stainless steel and glass balustrade / handrail was robust and well made. I've never installed a handrail before so took my time and did it carefully - and I think that the extra care paid dividends because it looks great and really transforms and improves that part of my house.
I would definitely use Dio-Met again and would recommend them to others.

Good quality washing line posts. They were packaged very well. The courier service was great - they called 15 minutes before the delivery to check someone was in. Would recommend

Very good product, glass balcony looks fantastic. The communication from the company was great too, supplied all the technical information needed for building regulations.

An excellent company to deal with. The quality of service was only exceeded by the quality of the staircase we now have in our house. They responded to the problems we faced and expertly saw us through from start to finish.
