I've used DEU Estates once as a student and this year as a professional, on both occasions they have been nothing but exceptional.

Particularly this year, as Olivia who is very polite, professional and has gone above and beyond in helping with viewings, arranging maintenance and dealing with problems from the day I moved in, to the end of the tenancy.

I had a viewing with Stuart on both days I had showings. He was extremely helpful and showed us multiple houses that fit our criteria. After contacting them again to get more viewings he helped me find a great house that was perfect for all of my group. He was very professional and answered any queries we had regarding the property and lease.

Jasjeet gave excellent advice. He was really approachable and very funny.

I had a viewing with DEU estate and Ummar showed me around. He was very polite and gave me information I wanted to make a decision on the property.

Great letting agent, from viewing the property, to dealing with maintenance. One of the best student flats I’ve ever lived in, highly recommend DEU, easily contactable via Email and would get back to me asap on all concerns and queries. Highly recommend!!

Isobel at DEU has been extremely helpful when issues have arisen, in particular when appliances have broken. She has even gone to the lengths of upgrading the new unit, taking into account the physical limitations of the house and what would benefit us most as tenants. 5* service!

These lot are dodgy landlords. You will live in unhealthy circumstances with mould, leaks, and have a dodgy fire alarm. No idea who the landlord is but they always send people to fix things that badmouth the company (that’s saying something) they stole money out of our deposit for no reason? We have had so many problems with this estate agent. We had a mouldy sofa they sent a man with a wet wipe to clean it🤣. Our roof leaked, damaging items. Our fridge freezer broke so many times, we lost so much food and they didn’t care. They would turn up without giving a warning. Olivia one of the staff tried to instigate arguements with another tenant, thank god me and the guy spoke. Just overall drama with this company. I will be telling students and professionals to avoid them at all costs until they make changes.

From the beginning to the end of the tenancy DEU were unhelpful, incompetent and unprofessional. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

If I could give a 0 I would, honestly awful. Constantly woke up to random work men in our house and rooms whilst we were asleep, sometimes with no warning that they would even been round that day, wrong days given and never told if they needed to be in our rooms which was very frightening, especially being an all girl house. Surprise chargers put on us in person and felt intimidated into paying them. Really rude staff and awful houses, waited 6 months for them to sort our silverfish problem as they kept using the same stuff that wasn’t working for months.

Just went for a viewing with Deu Estates for a property in Grosvenor Park Gardens on Cliff Lane.

Overall, the property was not that bad, however, what really deterred me from signing a contract with the agency was how absolutely obnoxious the guy was when trying to push for me and my friend to sign. Telling me this 'Quality Place' won't be here in a couple hours 'guarantee' to sign if we think for too long. This is putting it lightly, I cannot stress the headache I developed from listening to the guy spew out all these annoying comments, trying to sell the property with so much desperation that they're willing to exaggerate every good thing and cover up every bad detail, that it makes the whole viewing pointless now that I know they're not being genuine with us.

When he was talking with the current tenants, I noticed that he was giving them an update on several problems with the flat, which they have yet to sort out, considering it's presumably 7 months into a contract, with only the boiler replaced so far. I hate these kind of viewings the most, because they add unnecessary pressure onto what they think are unsuspecting students, who don't know any better.

Word of advice, don't be pressured to sign for a property. If you don't like a place or have a bad gut feeling to the whole experience, chances are, you will be right, and you won't regret giving a bit more time, looking for a better property or estate agent. There is NOT a shortage of housing/properties in Leeds to sign for, and I know this from experience after finding a decent flat last year a literal week before I signed and moved into it from July.

I told my friend to stop looking at these gross estate agents on Unipol that prey on vulnerable students, and look for properties based more for young professionals, since they're more likely to be genuine when you go for a viewing. When I say this, I mean that they tell you the details, answer your questions, let you look around and ponder your thoughts, and then let you leave on your merry way, with clear instructions on how to sign online/ring them if you do want it. They SHOULD NOT bombard you with an endless supply of exaggerated talk and comments throughout the viewing, consistently pressure you to sign before 'it is too late', and leave you with a splitting headache, where you can't even think for a moment in peace!

We viewed a basement flat with serious problems. The estate guy said it wasn't the best but in Jan this is late in the rental season. It was obviously uninvested in for decades. Nasty walls, cracks and prison bars. He tried to rush sell on this was the only one bed flat of this quality and sell in less than a day. I got everyone to chill for a day. Just found an amazing 1 bed flat with alarm, no issues, private parking and £20 a week less than that hole. Be careful where you rent and don't believe people that push you to sign.

Absolutely disgraceful service from DEU Estates from start to finish. Shocking that they can call themselves a letting agents and go home at night feeling like they’ve done their job To the best or their ability.

They took a £350 deposit each at the start of the tenancy, which can be expected. However, upon moving out we received a check our report detailing charges that had been made against us which we could dispute. There was a £40 charge for a broken freezer draw, which was already damaged when we moved in. This had not been checked on the inventory of the property and clearly the property management team tried to add this to the check out for us to pay. I feel this is wrong and dishonest, that a company would try and take money off 4 young girls and think we would not check ourselves. They clearly thought very little of us. Also, they detailed some blue tac marks that had been left and stated the room they were found in. This again was wrong, they had stayed the WRONG ROOM and WRONG TENANT of that room. Once again, if we hadn’t have checked ourselves the cost would have been made against the wrong tenant. Finally, they tried to make us pay an extortionate £120 cleaning bill (I’ve seen on reviews that they do this for all tenants) they gave us a list of places and things to clean which was all done. However still tried to have us pay £120 for a cleaning bill. We managed to lower this to £90. Still was very displeased by the service.

Throughout all of this it took around 4 weeks to resolve. We had the displeasure of dealing with somebody called Parandeep (most likely a member of the property management team) however when I rang the company to dispute some of the charges and the poor checkout report I was told it was the company DIRECTOR that did the check outs. I am absolutely astounded as to how a director of a company can make so many mistakes just on ONE property.

The service from start to finish was appalling and such a sad end to my 3 years in Leeds. Please please please avoid this company at all costs, they will take your money and hold it from you at whatever costs they can make up!
