This review reflects my personal experience as a client of this company and its services through one of its many brands, The County Register.
I paid a substantial fee for a personalised matchmaking service. Unfortunately, I did not feel that the service represented value for money based on the results I received.
Before joining, I was informed verbally during the sales pitch, that the company had a database of more than 27,000 members. I was also assured that, as someone living approximately 10 miles from London and within what was described as a common client age range (late 50s to early 60s), I was well placed to receive suitable introductions.
I provided detailed information about the type of partner I was seeking and was encouraged to believe that there would be a good number of potentially compatible matches. However, my experience did not come close to meeting those expectations.
My main issues were:
• Many of the introductions I received were located significantly farther away than my stated preference.
• Several introductions did not appear to reflect the criteria I had provided.
• I did not feel that the service I received justified the membership fee I paid.
• I even wrote to the CEO to express my concerns but did not receive a personal response from him, which I found disappointing.
I made a formal complaint to the company early on in my membership, which was rejected. As a result, I then contacted the Dating Agency Association, of which Dating Options is a member, regarding my complaint. One aspect that concerned me was that the Chairperson of the Association, Heather Heber-Percy, is also the founder of The County Register, the brand I joined. I felt that this connection could create a perception of a lack of independence when complaints relating to that brand and other connected brands are considered.
Heather Heber-Percy referred me to a colleague within the Association, to whom I sent full details of my concerns, as directed to do so by her. Although I received an acknowledgement to my initial email, I did not receive any response to my complaint despite chasing through several follow-up communications. According to their website one of their main objectives is to seek equitable solutions for disputes which may arise.
Whilst I am not suggesting that the Association acted improperly, based on my experience and them not looking into my complaint, I was left with concerns about the transparency and perceived independence of the complaints process.
I have retained correspondence and documentation relating to the matters described above. I considered taking the matter further but ultimately decided not to pursue further action because of the time, cost, and stress involved.
My experience as a female client led me to feel that there may have been far less suitable male matches available within my age range than I was led to believe during the sales pitch.
This review is based purely on my own disappointing experience. Prospective clients should undertake their own enquiries and research and reach their own conclusions before committing to any membership.

First class service. Kerry is very professional, kind and caring. Kerry listened and gave me the confidence to look for a suitable match. This is not easy when you have experienced disappointment and heartbreak. 10/10 for Dating Options.

My first appointment with Kerry last week went really well. She was very warm and welcoming and professional, as well as extremely easy to chat with. As I was in the office it was really lovely to be introduced to the rest of the team too.

Jasmine was also lovely who was put to task of taking some profile photos.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing who I might be matched with once my profile is up and running and what the future may hold.

I cannot thank Holly enough for her incredible work. I came into this process feeling a bit burnt out by the modern dating scene, but Holly took the time to truly understand what I was looking for, even the things I hadn't articulated myself.

They didn't just find me dates; they found me a genuine connection.

I've recently joined again after being a Pi Singles member in 2021. Kerry worked with me to update my profile to keep it current and relevant. The dating scene online isn't for me so Kerry's support is most most welcome and I look forward to seeing where things go once more. 10/10

Sent me some matches not aligning with my preferences. One over 120 miles away. 8 matches received. Said yes to 4 even though none truly interested me. 0 dates. £3000 wasted. They will say anything to get you on board, but in reality, the number of suitable clients on their books is very limited.

In response to your reply. I extended my travelling distance to 2 hours after realising the options were so terribly limited at 1.5 hours when I signed up and agreed terms. I have now returned to other methods of dating having lost complete faith in your service.

After an unsuccessful attempt at online dating after my marriage failed I found dating in my 50’s terrifying. I’m now 18 months with my new partner thanks to my amazing matchmaker, Nat. We both entered into the process with serious intentions and are so happy! Amazing service and so thankful! Well done, Nat!

I signed up to this company and was not long past the 14 day cooling off period when, councidently I met the love of my life on-line. I spent £3500 with this company. When I explained my situation, they refused a partial refund I requested acknowledging the work they had done up to that point. I never really used the service and they did show me one match who was widely outside of my expectations. Don't use them, they just want your money.

My review comes in two parts - the service provided and the matches themselves.

I began happy with the service and you do have to accept that nothing is ever guaranteed. My matchmaker really seemed like she was putting in the effort to find the most suitable women available for me. I was prepared for this section of the review to be entirely positive, but then they ended the service early, backing out of their commitment and effectively stealing from me. I was told I would receive a minimum of six matches (assuming you don't find a life partner before then) with the expectation being that will happen over six months. I was assured that if we go over six months, I would still receive that minimum of six matches. Well, we arrived at number four, then I received an email saying my membership expired and the service would no longer continue. That's reason enough to give a one star review.

The second issue and the real reason I can't recommend this service to anyone is the women you get matched with. It may be that I have such a small sample size to work with, but I can only go by the experience I had and my impression is that the women you will be matched with simply aren't serious about finding a life partner. You would think that someone spending this much money to use the service would make a real attempt to get to know you and try to establish whether the two of you are compatible, but instead, they treat you identically as if you matched on Tinder.

I started my journey hoping this would be a different type of dating that could have been a positive experience even if it wasn't successful, but I've ended it having found out it's just more of the same, except a lot more expensive.

Holly has been very easy to communicate with and extremely professional.

I found Holly at Dating Oprions to be so helpful, and understanding of what I am looking for from an introduction,,! She is always contactable, and great to chat to. She fully understands the delicate nature of her job, and I hope she is valued by her employers.

Updated: they keep trying to take my review down. Now they have reported my review as defamatory so I’m having to reword it to make it less negative! It was the biggest waste of money in my life. Please don’t waste your money and trust them with your heart! All of the introductions (not matches) were completely unsuitable. They just want to tick all the boxes so that you can’t get a refund (the contract says they only have to give you 12 introductions over the 12 months). These “introductions” don’t even have to be matched to your personalised brief that you gave them. They originally replied to my first review thinking I was someone else, which just shows how many unhappy customers they have. And as they have tried to take my review down multiple times, I assume they have done the same with other dissatisfied customers..

Over twelve months, I didn't match with a single person! I was sent profiles of people with mostly no interests in common. Communication with matchmakers was poor, and unkind at times. I spent £1000s on an experience that was a huge disappointment, felt insulting at times, and was a hit to my confidence. (I have used a pseudonym here, and to be clear, my membership was with a specific dating agency within the umbrella group. I imagine quality of service varies across the different agencies, so it may be worth checking the specific agency if you're looking to get membership.)

Dating options ltd group. Very disappointed with the males they matched me with. Nothing I asked for. When challenged very sarcastic and rude and disagreable.

I went along today to have my first meeting with Holly who is absolutely amazing. I was really taken a back by the warm, friendly and professional team. The office and the general feel of the place is so inviting and you are left with the inner knowing that you are in a safe pair of hands. Highly recommend and I’m excited for this new journey ahead!!
