I had an external HDD that died on me out of the blue. I asked some friends if there is a way to save the data but they all agreed that I need proper services for this. I went online on a hunt to find the best recovery data company and I found Fields Data Recovery. I have never done this before so I didn`t know what to expect. I called them and I met a very nice gentleman who patiently listened to what I had to say, and then he told me the steps; they will send a DHL courier to my address (for free), get the HDD, analyse what`s wrong and what can be done to/with it and let me know the outcome and price. If they cannot get the data or if I don`t want to go ahead, they will just send the HDD back free of charge. I had nothing to lose so I agreed.
The next day the courier came, and picked up my HDD, and from then on, I was kept updated, by phone, about everything. I was lucky, they said my files are recoverable and they gave me the price. It was expensive (for a normal person) BUT I knew the entire procedure has to be done in a forensic lab and that work is not easy. Moreover, I wanted my data back intact and from my point of view was worth the money.
When they finished the recovery, they put the data on a cloud but I was not able to save it on my computer. I knew they would keep it there only for a limited amount of time because of the GDPR laws. I wrote them about my problem and I got a call the same day from Roger, who`s a customer service advisor, and he gave me alternatives about how to proceed. He chose the best one for me and now I have the data safe in my hands (well, on my computer) :).
Since they made me happy I want to help other people as well, so I do recommend this company because they really care about their customers.

I transferred data between a Windows and iMac but unfortunately got my timing wrong and deleted some important files. Data Recovery were able to claw back the deleted files so I now have all my work in one place on the iMac.

turn around was very quick and the person I was in contact reassured me it was not a scam. I got I would say 98% of files back. Although it cost a lot the memories on the drive was worth it. Many thanks for the service. Also speaking to one person was very reassuring.

I gave these guys a battered hard drive recovered from a defunct 10 year unused JVC camcorder. They recovered all the files and were fast and super efficient. Fast turnaround and utterly professional with great customer service - perfect!

Communication was very good throughout, including post transaction follow up. Shortly after calling, the corrupted hard drive was collected by courier and I was promised a free diagnostic. Following the free diagnostic, I would only be charged if I wanted to proceed (which I did). The cost was fixed before this decision was made. It wasn't cheap, but having our photos back was worth it. The whole process was smooth and transparent. Everything on the drive was recovered.

Having spent the last 3 years thinking my broken internal hard drive was beyond retrieval (I’d tried a few specialists), I happened upon Data Recovery Specialists in a Google search, followed their oh so simple steps, and just a couple of days later, I received a phone call confirming almost all my precious invaluable family photos and videos had been recovered. It didn’t take long for the restored data to be returned to me and all the communications were absolutely spot on all the way through. Lost all my video files from a recent trip, couldn't recover the files myself so sent this off with substantial damage to the hard drive. Recovered all of my video files no problem!

Apologies that I wasn’t available when you called but I can most definitely tell you that I was extremely pleased with the outcome of the DATA recovery from your company. From the initial conversation with Dan Rees who kept me informed every step of the recovery and also to yourself who made me at ease as I am not the most computer literate person in the world. You both talked me through what I thought at first was a difficult process but once you and Dan explained it to me it was plain sailing and I would definitely recommend your company to anyone that was in a similar position to myself.

After my own IT department couldn’t do anything for me I was getting a bit disillusioned and desperate if I’m honest. The thought that this problem had been going on for about five months with no positive outcome didn’t exactly fill me with much hope of ever recovering the DATA that I stupidly had not backed up for about seven or eight years. I guess I am lucky in a way that you guys had the experience and professionalism to deal with the situation and recover all the DATA that I needed so thank you once again. Not only did you recover the DATA, you did it within a week or so which was excellent as I know this can be a very tricky process and the turnaround time in getting the DATA back to me was far sooner than I anticipated and quicker than you predicted for the total cost I paid.

Although I thought the initial cost appeared a little on the high side but when you stop and think about the happiness and satisfaction that it has brought back to me not to mention all the detailed information I have received back which is invaluable to my day to day working environment.

Really poor experience with Data Recovery Specialists also known as Fields Data Recovery. Please steer clear and don't part with any money. They are happy to take your cash and promise they can recover your data speedily but then you have to chase them for any updates and they do not deliver. I intend to pursue them at all costs.

Highly recommended. I contacted this company after a similar company told me my drive was unrecoverable.

Not only did they save a priceless video for me, they saved 99% of the drive and reduced the price for me given the type of content.

Phone calls were friendly, helpful and really personalised.

The experience was EASY, EFFICIENT and HONEST. The people fully understood the importance of the data was to was to me! to retrieve. I felt personally that I was an VIP and not just another "target". Scammer company. Beware there are so many good reviews for them as they are PAYING customers to leave a review! Whilst they offered to look at
the hard drive, quote and send it back a for free they are obviously very pressuring for you to go ahead. The prices they charge are extortionate, expect to be charged around £600 for a corrupt hard drive data recovery, and no I'm not exaggerating! Yes they recovered the data and yes it was returned on another "free" hard drive but the price paid and customer service left a bitter after taste, almost ripped off. Never making the mistake of leaving sentimental photos on a hard drive again!

When the USB stick holding my daughter's 6th form coursework stopped functioning, I needed a swift resolution. I tried local services who looked at the problem but couldn't recover the data, I thought we'd have no way of recovering 6 months worth of work. Luckily, they recommended Data Recovery Specialists having referred customers to them previously who had success. Data Recovery called me as soon as I enquired. The process of collecting the datastick was secure and very swift, with the added benefit of knowing that I was not committing to the repair until the team had assessed the issue.
The datastick was examined and I was given a quote, a long with a transparent, detailed process of what would be required, with the option of returning the stick to me or approving the work.
Once approved the team prioritised the work for me and the file names recovered were made available to me, as a final check that the job was as I needed. I had the data back within 48 hours and a very happy 18 year old who no longer had to reproduce all her work.
The process was professional throughout and I should I ever be in the situation where I needed to recover data, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Highly recommend.
