I would have 5-starred Damira this time but without advising me they cancelled my routiine checkup and I was left to rebook an emergency app’t as one of my teeth had shed a filling - That’s the 3-star review.
The 5-star review (rendering an oversll 4-star rating) resulted from my ‘emergency’ appointment where I was shown the upmost understanding and sympathy about my cancelled appointment. The dentist very kindly completed my routine check-up and refilled not only the tooth that was worrying me, but a second tooth which had a loose filling. This was exceptional service from my usual dentist and deserving of the highest review score. Thank you Dr E. S.

Staff members were all very friendly and helpful. My new denture was produced after a very brief wait, and small alterations were made to ensure that it fitted me well. When I went to the desk to pay, I asked for a full statement so that I could arrange for payment from my insurance. This arrived by email shortly after I got home, and claim arranged.

I booked an 8am appointment. But when I arrived the receptionist told me it had been cancelled. I have no evidence that this was correct. I did get an appointment later in the day.
Very much more concerning is the poor state of the decor and the dental surgery. 10 years ago it was all new and perfect. It now looks very tired. I worry that i am having implant surgery in that environment.

Receptionist was polite and very helpful, hygienist was very good and polite, then I had check up all good and new appointment made for fillings.

My 3rd visit and still a very goid experience. Dr Joanne and nurse Helena are very good friendly dental practioners. I was so lucky to find them it’s worth a drive of over an hour to be treated proficiently and in a caring manner. Thank you ladies. This includes the receptionist!

My wife and I are in our nineties and have just been accepted as NHS patients by Damira. It was a great pleasure for us to be welcomed in, to have our initial dental examinations, and to arrange appointments for our regular future treatment. Everyone involved was understanding and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Highly recommended.

Was seen quickly as i had an absess. Was given options how to treat and decided to go for abstraction of failed crowned tooth. Was given appointment for the next day by a nice receptionist. The abstraction was quite tricky and took roughly 30 minutes but was painless. Given good aftercare advice. Azhar Sheikh is always polite and pleasant every time i see him at Oxford Brookes practice. I am NHS patient and very happy with the service i have received each time.

Very happy with the service to dentistry getting a bit overwhelmed with the constant appointment reminders and then a phone call- too much Demira!
Now asking for money up front!
Arrive for your appointment and they take the money first, this isn't ok.

Helpful reception assistance, not a long wait time and dentist that spent time to talk to me

My appointment was on time.
My dentist gave excellent service, checking that I was feeling OK as he examined and worked on my 3 fillings.
I am, since I've got older, quite nervous as my teeth have become more sensitive with 'oldage'and he always make sure that I am comfortable and don't feel unnecessary pain.
I hope that he remains working at the surgery as previously, in the past, I have had several different dentists. It is good to have someone who has got to know and understand your needs.

Amy the hygienist is friendly, efficient and very good at relaxing one.

Caron is a great dentist and I was very happy with the dental work. I am not so happy with Damira as an organisation. I booked an appointment for a filling by telephone. I was told I had to pay a deposit of over 50% in case I did not turn up. I have never had to do this before and it is out of line with many other businesses. I asked if I would be compensated if the dentist had to cancel. No, it only works one way. I asked the woman at the call centre how to access the underground car park and whether you required a ticket for free parking. Basic information but she had no idea. My appointment was at 8.00am and I arrived about 10 minutes beforehand. Many people arrive early to allow for traffic - if you are late you may not be seen and lose your deposit. However, the practice did not open until 8.00am and so I had to hang around outside. Luckily it was not raining. If the first appointment is at 8.00am, reception should open at 7.50am at the latest. All in all, shabby treatment. It seems Damira is not concerned about their patients - they just want as much profit as possible with as little risk. I will not be going back.

David and his assistant (Viola, I hope) are always kind and considerate when treating me. They are reassuring and ensure that I am feeling okay and am not in any pain at all. I have had several dentists in this practice over the last 5/6 years and David has easily been the best. Long may he remain.

I’m in my late 50’s and was absolutely petrified of dentist's. But due to having an extreme toothache my husband who has been going there for years got me an appointment. I’ve now been going there for a couple of years. I can not praise and thank Padma enough for the help and support she has given me. Due to a gum disease I had to have 5 teeth extracted yesterday, at every tooth Padma asked me if i was ok and reassured me i was doing well.

Very polite, welcoming, make you feel comfortable especially when your scared of the dentist 😬😃

The staff are very helpful and my dentist is second to none. She is beautiful in every way and I can’t recommend them highly enough. The entire premises has been meticulously and completely sanitised and maintained to a strict sterile standard. I would not want to go anywhere else now. Great job all of you.
