The Health Reports are Amazing
My wife had done a DNA test from a different company and it was both confusing and useless. I decided to try a DNA test from CRI Genetics. I'm so glad I did. No interest in Relative Finder but big interest in the Health Reports. Fascinating to find out that my strong preference for tea (never liked coffee) was genetic. Other health reports have given me direction on things I can work on. My DNA test with CRI Genetics was well worth the money.

The Cost Is Very Limiting
Your cost of more information is very limiting for senior citizens. It’s expensive to get old and our legacies are valuable! “Every time an old person dies, a library is lost.” More is lost than history. Experience in different circumstances, is an example. A lifetime of dealing with a myriad of situations alone can’t be conveyed in a book and rare is the child or adult that seeks knowledge and wisdom from an elder.

I consider it a rip-off.
Completely at variance with Ancestry, 23 and Me, and Geno 2.0. Some references make no sense at all, and the ancestries identified seem to have little or no use. Outside of the few reports in the basic package everything else is extra cost. Some reported traits are the opposite of actual ones.

Our ancestry and trait reports are based on CRI Genetics’ own proprietary algorithms and reference databases, which may differ from other companies such as Ancestry, 23andMe, or Geno 2.0. Because each company uses its own population samples and statistical models, it’s normal for results to vary between providers.
As for the traits, they are based on genetic correlations identified through peer-reviewed studies. However, genetics is only one piece of the puzzle, lifestyle and environment can also strongly influence how traits appear in real life, which can sometimes make your results seem opposite from experience.

their customer support is awesome, they solved all the mistakes were made in the label/results immediately, and in very professional matter if you ask me.
90% of the "health" results were completely opposite of what is actually true.
my main issue would be that the maternal haplo (and the reason i took the test in the fist place), is completely off. It showed that my Great grandma was (way) East Asian, and i met her, she was not...
also, the chart for the "recent analysis" is well made and easily understandably, the maternal haplo, is not (in my opinion).

1. Environment and Lifestyle
Even with a genetic predisposition, your lifestyle, diet, and environment play a big role in how those genes are actually expressed in your body.
2. Traits Are Influenced by Multiple Genes
We focus on key gene markers supported by scientific research. However, many traits are impacted by a combination of genes—some of which may not yet be fully understood.
3. Genes Can Be Switched On and Off
Through epigenetics, we know that genes can activate or deactivate over time due to stress, diet, and other life changes. This means that even if you have a certain gene, its effect can vary depending on how it’s expressed.
We also understand your concern regarding the maternal haplogroup report. These results are based on ancient DNA markers that trace deep maternal ancestry—often spanning thousands of years. Even siblings with the same parents can have significantly different results because each person inherits a unique combination of DNA from both parents. In fact, siblings only share about 50% of their DNA on average, which can lead to noticeable differences in ancestry composition.

I am sorry I spent the money I did on this tool to get more information on my DNA. I do not think it is very accurate and the reports and hard to read. I really thought this would be more tailored to the individual rather than say you may have a tendency of being allergy to xyz. I thought it was more of a scientific tool.

Only good for ancestry
I liked knowing my ancestry. That was super fun. However, I wanted to know different health data and it was interesting how they told me I was allergic to certain things like cats and I am not. I have never had a problem with cats. There was just stuff in there telling me how I supposedly like to do things a certain and none of them were true.

I enjoyed most of the reports
I enjoyed most of the reports. I had a couple of surprises and confirmed much that I already suspected. I enjoyed reading the other reports and I really like that my ID is private and not shared. The pre results messages were plenty, concise and sometimes really interesting.
On another note, I did reach out and never heard back about the possibilities of going back on my father's line, not just my mother's line. Maybe I missed the reasoning in one of the emails. Would that be possible?
