When a policy is arranged with a finance agreement, the payments and terms are set out clearly at the start of the agreement. As with any finance arrangement, the agreement must be followed in line with the terms and conditions that were accepted when the policy was taken out.

Having to cancel my policy as I was not…
Having to cancel my policy as I was not helped in any way and felt company asking for more money and finding different excuses to charge me. I have never had to give so much evidence about an insurance policy. When phoning in not helpful at all keep saying the same thing over and over again like a stuck record. Will never use them again. Hopeless

At the start of your policy, you were advised that a CUE (Claims and Underwriting Exchange) check would be carried out and that if any information provided was found to be incorrect, the policy could either be cancelled or an additional premium applied in line with the insurer’s terms and conditions.
When the policy was taken out, you provided information that was later contradictory to the information found on the CUE check. Based on this information, the underwriter initially advised that the policy would be declined.
We discussed this with you, and we relayed the conversation to the underwriter on your behalf in order to get this resolved. As a result of our involvement, the policy was able to proceed rather than remain declined.
The policy was then recalculated based on the findings from the CUE check resulting in an additional premium. The difference in price was due the differing information from the inception of the policy to the CUE database. Claim dates are a rating factor for insurers, and this directly impacted the premium applied.
We understand that being asked for supporting documentation can feel frustrating. However, when discrepancies arise, insurers require evidence to ensure the policy is accurate and compliant. We did try to assist throughout and were able to secure terms where the original outcome was a decline.
We also advised that if you wished to cancel the policy, a formal cancellation request would need to be submitted in writing. To date, we have not received this request.
If you are able to provide any further documentation, we remain happy to pass this to the underwriter for review.
