Conservice over charging!!!

My family is going through it with them. In April 2023 our bill was $99, each month since it has increased at a disgusting rate and we conserve energy in our home. May it hit $300, June it hit $500 July-September it was $600 and I just received a Nov 1 bill for $711. There is absolutely no way anyones electricity bill should be this high in the month of October. They have to be held accountable because something is not right.

Double Check Every Bill

We have been incorrectly charged a vacancy charge for a utility that has been in our name, at our address, for over a year. 10% of our monthly rent. The billing dates don't even make sense for our schedule. They're not open on weekends, and the only contact option is a form, no email, to go ahead and email them the documentation to prove it's in error.
They are apparently in the business of billing for these kinds of things with no ability to fix it within the billing cycle, so you are expected to pay the incorrect charge and hope they credit you the next month. Plus $5/month for a "service fee" that isn't something one can opt out of. Just make sure you double check every bill, because this is not the first time they've messed up, and I'm sure it won't be the last. I assume the business model is to make extra money by being unable to fix it, getting the money, and then hoping people don't stay on top of it and never get the credit. Horrible, horrible business practices that seem to just be skirting legality.

Total scam

Total scam. They add fees on top of fees with no justification just to bill you on the same water you would get from the water company. I'm FORCED to use this scam in my apt complex and its a total nightmare.

Unethical, Incompetent Company

I have lived at multiple complexes since 2015 that regrettably use CON service as their billing provider. Their fees are ridiculous and should be illegal. $20 "account start up fee" when I already had an account at multiple other complexes and could simply just add my new residence to it. Other base monthly fees that should not be allowed.
I moved into my current complex on 5/25/23. As of today, 8/9 I just received my first bill via USPS mail. The statement says payment is due by tomorrow, 8/10, otherwise the price increases $20. I immediately called my leasing office who was confused and shocked, as utility payments are always due on the 1st along with rent, and are paid to my leasing office, not CON service. I did a chat with a "Virginia" who gave me nothing but INACCURATE information. She is clearly not properly trained, or competent. I then wasted another 20 minutes calling CON service and the male I spoke with stated he would have to escalate to their billing department, because on their end it states the resident is supposed to pay them directly. There are NINE buildings in my complex with at least 500 residents. I made it clear that I am not paying .01 more than my current amount owed due to their incompetence and I will report them to multiple authorities for fraud if I have to.

Hard to believe that this is a legal

Hard to believe that this is a legal. I wonder what politicians were paid off to allow them to do this. The bills for water and other utilities are over the top ridiculously high here at the Edge Apartments in San Marcos, Texas. Complaining to the front office they say “we don’t handle utilities, talk to Conservice.” Trying to contact Conservice is impossible so you email someone and usually don’t get a response if you do it’s some canned response about here’s how we bill. That’s it. Should be against the law, but the ones who can change this have no doubt been paid off like most policy makers.

I wish my complex would find someone new...

I have lived in multiple apartments that all use different utility services and I have never experienced anything like this. The bills are always fluctuating and confusing then when you try to figure out what happened and why they just kind of hit you with the whole mentality of "well that's just how it is so I don't know what you want me to tell you.." they just have so many customers that they can't ensure that they'll actually be able to get a reading from your meter so they just estimate what it would be then back charge you for 6 months of wrongly estimated water without even saying anything.

Unreasonable Charges and Inconsistent Bills

My experience with Conservice has been incredibly frustrating. I was shocked to see a charge of $175 for common electricity, which is in addition to other common area charges. In total, common area charges alone are more than $200 per month. As a tenant, I expected to pay for certain common utilities, but I was told they wouldn't exceed $100. Now I am paying more than 200 dollars for those common area charges.

To make matters worse, the bills I have received from Conservice have been inconsistent and confusing. It feels like I am constantly trying to decipher their billing practices and make sense of the charges, which has been a huge headache.

The lack of transparency and clarity from Conservice is unacceptable. It is disappointing that a utility company cannot provide accurate and transparent billing information to their customers. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for their utility needs.

the worst corrupt utility company I sent them a check to pay for their services they say they didn't receive it I had to ask for a letter from my bank and it wasn't enough they asked me for a copy of the check I sent them a copy of the check front and back with the stamp of that it was collected and it was not enough the abuse towards the tenants is incredible they know that we are trapped in an inept community that does not help the tenants I have been litigating with these corrupt inept unprofessional fifth-rate company for 4 months and they do not intend to help now they want a copy of my bank statement no matter how much litigation i have but i am not going to let your crooked inefficient company continue abusing tenants

Excessive Charges - customer service is pathetic

Though I explained that the flat is not vacant, they insisted that the charges can't be reversed or charged as prorate as the utility wasn't transferred to my name for 4 days for Electricity and 11 days for Gas even though I occupied the flat.
Worst customer service.

Con Service doesn't deserve one star

Con Service doesn't deserve one star! There service is very SUSPECT at best. Everyone gets billed 1 month per cycle. The Cons send you 3 months because they say, "the batch was late received by them". Now, where does the savings come in? The Cons create more of a disservice and hardship with there miss representation of saving the customer money. How long before they are audited and discovered for deceptive business practices?

Conservice says Empty your pocket

Constantly getting bill of 150$ everymonth, whether you are there or not. Been on vacation in the month of November for 22 days. Still my bill is 120$ for Water, Sewer and Trash. Water is 35$ (even for whole month i used to get 40$), Sewer is 60$ and trash is 25$. This is ridiculous, not sure how they are doing the billing. Customer service simply says, we are just billing company, contact your apartment or the provider.

Biggest scam

Every month out sewer is higher then our water bill and we dont understand that at all. Every month we pay in full because we have no choice, but some how they keep making it look like we are a month behind. The sewer is the same every month, which is $81.50 it always higher then water. I've stop washing so as much seemed like it made the bill go even higher. I don't know where they are getting their numbers from but it's crazy. We don't know what company the lights nor water is under. They need to be investigated they are really scamming people out of their money. I will be doing everything i can to bring awareness to this problem as soon as the lease is up we are out of here.

I rent a property that outsources the…

I rent a property that outsources the utilities to Conservice. Part of my lease is that heat, water, sewer, trash is to be paid by Conservice. I have been renting my home since April 2022. On Monday, October 24, 2022, my heat was turned off for non-payment. I did not know this until Tuesday when we woke up to no heat or hot water. I contacted Conservice on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 @ 8:00am MST and was advised that a case is being open and marked urgent. I have been in contact with many different agents at Conservice and I have been advised that the case is being worked on and I need to be patient and let the process work. We are now on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 @ 2:00pm MST and I still have no heat. This is ridiculous and the worst customer service experience I have dealt with.

They are ripping off people on their charges. I don’t know how they calculate charges on everything. I’m a 1 person living in my apartment and I have to pay almost $150.00 for water and all charges that goes with it. That’s ridiculous high. I don’t even stay on my apartment everyday.
