****UPDATE #3--I did receive an email from Cognius, after they read this review and they did provide a refund to me for $24.95. Today (07.23.26) the refund did post to my credit card account. So, if you have any issues or concerns, I would recommend using the contact email address they have on their site. Clearly state what those issues/concerns are and indicate what your expected resolution would be. Based on my most current experience, their customer service was very attentive and very pro-active to come to a mutual resolution. I hope this helps you!
***UPDATE #2--After reading the reviews, again AFTER I got scammed, I notice some of the reviews received this (canned) message-HOWEVER, please do not believe what they stated in their response as they do NOT tell you when you are registering that you are signing up for a 3 day trial (what company does a 3 day trial anyway?) and you will be charged $39.99 a month! Anyway, I caution you, please don't register for any test and don't give them your bank/card information! Here is the response from the company:

***UPDATE: Same day: I had to contact my bank to have all charges from this company stopped. I also had to obtain a new card because this company has my credit card information. NO where on the sign up does it state you are on a 3 day trial period and will be charged $39.99/month. I only found that out thru their confirmation email. When you visit the site, there are no phone numbers to talk to anyone and the chat is AI and you can't speak with a human. When I contacted my bank, they did give me this phone number: 202-990-9615 but it too is automated and you can't speak to anyone. To cancel, their system will text you a link to follow. I did NOT use the link. I didn't want to give them anymore information than they already had. Also, when I called the number, it was listed as "Tryinnerly!" Also, when I sent an email to their "support" all I received was a "canned" letter stating my subscription was cancelled. However, I personally don't believe it. This is the reason I requested a new credit card! Please, please don't fall for this scam!!!
I would imagine this company has low life people sitting around their computers just adding up the .99 cents they are receiving for their stupid test, laughing at all of us who fell for their deceitful tactics! PLEASE, don't do it!
Okay, I got screwed! I paid them .99 cents and it was deducted out of my account, but when I tried to locate them on the internet, I can't find any information for them! I came here and now I realize I was totally scammed! I am so sorry now that I didn't trust my instincts!

I was unable to access their website to unsubscribe before my 3 day "trial" was over and could not find the website anywhere- tried various search engines. This is a scam!!! Red flags everywhere!!!

It was fine until I thought to check on Trust Pilot. Just before I put my card details to pay the 99c for the test result ! Phew! They would have started charging me monthly!!! Read ALL the small print at the bottom of the payment box.

Fraudulently trying to charge me for a…
Fraudulently trying to charge me for a subscription and app not available to cancel. I'm trying to log in and it's not accepting the password and not sending reset email.
I tried to cancel the subscription that I did not knowingly sign up to. I tried contacting them through the email, lets see the response.
The test link did not work either.
I wish to cancel whatever subscription they say i accepted, and can't!
There was nothing mentioning any subscription when I paid the 99cents of initial payment.
Update: I emailed them to ask for the cancellation, due to my bank not being able to do anything. They were courteous on the email, cancelled the movement and refunded me.
Glad I waited before cancelling the card.
Their email:
"Dear Customer,
We have initiated refunds for the charges associated with the account linked to the email .....@gmail.com.
Refunded amounts:
- X USD
These funds should be credited to your account within 5–10 business days.
If the original charge was made in a different currency, the amount will be automatically converted by your bank.
Your subscription has also been cancelled, and no further charges will occur.
If you have any other questions, we’re happy to help." It got refunded thankfully.

This Cognius company is evidently a scam! I paid for a 99 cent report & then received an email that I would be charged $39 per month for ongoing services which I did not agree to.
This Cognius company must be a scam charging people for monthly payments that have not been agreed to. I even said no I did not want any continued support. I only paid 99 cents for one report then they sent an email saying I will be charged $39 a month & only have 3 days to cancel this by clicking their link & their link does not work to cancel it! I will be notifying my bank & the Better Business Bureau. All of the other reviews are saying the same thing so it's not just me that this happened yo. This must be cancelled!

Fraudulently trying to charge me for a subscription and app not available to cancel
I tried to cancel a subscription that I did not knowingly sign up to. I tried contacting them through the support system they said was on their app. This link does not work.I wish to cancel my subscription. I had not realised that there was any subscription when I paid the 99p initial payment today. I therefore cancel this immediately and do not authorise you to take any further payments.
Please reply informing me that this has been done today.

buyers beware - something fishy about this company
I left a single star because I could not leave zero. Paid 0.99 for a report that NEVER arrived as the link does not exist. Finding contact details is extremely difficult. My fault for giving scammers my bank details. You tried to take money for a subscription that I never agreed to although you claim -in your responses to others on Trust pilot - that pricing is clear. Obviously if it was there would not be this many complaints about the exact same issue. I would like to CANCEL the "subscription" that I never agreed to!

Unexpected membership charges/ payment
UPDATE: 09/07/2026 - I received an email saying that my emails & subscription could not be found. I took a screenshot, reiterated my email address & sent it. I got a very quick reply that says now that my subscription has been cancelled & that a refund will be issued for my most recent monthly charge. This jrefund could take up to 10 business days so we shal see.

Today I was notified that a payment charge of €39,99 had been taken from my account. I was somewhat disturbed as I had ONLY authorised & expected a 1 off charge off 0.99c for a report. After reading the reviews (sadly too late as, I hadn't expected this charge) - it would seem this is a commen occurence. I have sent 2 emails to support to cancel my membership & issue a refund but have had no reply. I did check my junk folder & inbox & there was definately no emails about this charge - only one about my 0.99 report being ready & to log into the website to read it - again nowhere wa it mentioned that I would now be charged €39,99 (I assume monthly) as a member. I would advise people to be catious when filling in their details as I do NOT find this site very transparent - LESSON LEARNED.

I paid GBP1 for an initial report but…
I paid GBP1 for an initial report but then could not get into the app at all. I emailed 2 Cognius email addresses to cancel the account and stop the charge, but they did not respond and still took GBP30 without authorisation.
6 days after my second email to Cognius, they replied and arranged to refund the GBP30 that they took and this has been received, asking me to update this review if I am now happy. I am certainly happier than I was and will draw this episode to a close, but there is clearly a business model here that is prompting the same feedback from a range of people.
