Sales target priority
Took my Granddaughter for her first pair of school shoes. It felt as if their priority were to hit sales targets rather than ensuring the children had the best fitting shoe. The girl who served us was lovely but could sense the pressure she was under Also she was sitting crossed legged whilst fitting and got pulled on it, this is better for the staff than being on their knees where I noted that there is no knee protection provided for the staff . Any hows happy Granddaughter with her unicorn shoes!

I didn’t think there was too much choice for younger girls shoes though tbh and wanted to try & buy there & then as that was why we went in person .

We were left waiting for a long time…
We were left waiting for a long time with 2 young children despite being a very quiet store. Only 1 person when we arrived with children who were being served by 2 assistants. We should’ve waited no more than 5 mins.
Then other adult customers arrived and they got served before us whilst Priya (Assistant Manager) ignored us and managed the store very badly.
She was also rude and incompetent and told us to wait. She also unfairly disciplined Mae (who served us in a lovely manner eventually) in front of us asking her to tell the other children to ‘not run in the shop’.
I’ve always had very good service at this store but the experience today was below standard. Priya in particular has terrible customer service skills and is clearly in the wrong job.
The lady that did serve us called Mae, was lovely and very helpful. I felt sorry for her working under such poor management. She was doing her absolute best considering.

Extremely rude and unhelpful staff
If I could give zero stars for our experience today , I would!!
Visited the Watford Clarkes today, with my daughter and 2 grandchildren.
My daughter brought a pair of shoes for her daughter 2 months ago, she has previously brought exact same shoes for her daughter twice before, as she'd loved them so much
This particular pair, the velcro has shredded, so they don't stay fastened, so my daughter after reading Clarkes policy on faulty goods, thought she'd take them in to store to show them, and get a resolution.
Well that was a daft assumption on our part!!!
A lady called Anne,who informed us was the store manager was so beyond rude to my daughter.
Measured my grandaughters feet and said the reason why the shoes have done that is because her feet have grow. Absolute rubbish!!!
Her feet were measured in the same store only 2 months ago and even if her feet had grown, it didn't change the fact that the shoes were substandard.
Anne absolutely refused to do anything about it, just shrugged her shoulders and no apology just said" nothing I can do"
She was so incredibly rude, and kept talking over my daughter, she wouldn't listen to her!!
My daughter worked in the children's shoe industry for Gordan Scott's for many years, so knows exactly how to measure a foot,and the shoes she had for her daughter still had growing room in, but Anne refused to put the faulty shoes on to see that that was the case.
Honestly, unfortunately, I had to leave to take my grandson to the toilet, otherwise I would have really pulled up Anne's behaviour and attitude towards my daughter,.
My daughter left very upset without any resolution, she's not a confrontational person at all, but said she felt so angry.
There needs to be some serious customer training done in this store, and the staff, particularly the store manager needs to be acquainted with your stores returns of faulty goods policy, and how to speak to customers.
Frankly they have lost a customer of many years today!!! As neither myself or my daughter would ever buy anything out of that particular store again !!!
Just absolutely disappointed and disgusted with how we were treated.
Thought more highly of Clarkes than our experience today !!!!!

voucher code doesn't work
I have brought a shoe for my son last year summer and its never arrived .
I have been to Watford warehouse to collect shoe and wasted around 4-5 trips. then I called the customer service they said it was lost in transit and send me a code to use for the next purchase. went to Watford store again they said code doesn't work need and barcode to scan . I have send a email to customer service couple time no response
