Extremely bad customer service AVOID

I placed a Chop Chop order on 18 June and then received a text message saying my order couldn’t be completed. However, I was still charged, and the order was then marked as being delivered while I was already shopping in Sainsbury’s myself.

I contacted customer service around 10 times to try to get the issue resolved, but got nowhere. The support was completely unhelpful, and no one seemed able to sort out what should have been a straightforward refund.

In the end, I had to contact my bank to reverse the transaction myself. It was a huge amount of unnecessary hassle for something that should have been resolved by Sainsbury’s.

I would avoid using Chop Chop. It would have been far easier to just walk to the shop in the first place.

Terrible DO NOT USE

If they had an email address for complaints this is what I would write -

Dear Customer Services,

I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding a recent Sainsbury’s Chop Chop order and the unacceptable level of customer service I have received in attempting to resolve the issue.

When my order was delivered, I did not simply receive a few incorrect items—I was given another customer’s entire order. As a result, I was left without the groceries I had paid for, while someone else presumably received my order instead. This is a significant failure in your delivery process and caused considerable inconvenience.

I reported the issue immediately, yet it has now been nearly two weeks and I am still waiting for my refund.

During this time, I have contacted your customer service helpline on several occasions. Each time I have been assured that the matter would be resolved, but no meaningful progress has been made. I have repeatedly had to chase the issue myself, wasting a considerable amount of my time.

To make matters worse, I have been told that no email updates or confirmations can be sent to me, leaving me with no written record of the conversations or promises made. I have also requested to speak with a manager but have been unable to do so, and I have not been provided with an email address or any other means of escalating my complaint.

This entire experience has been extremely disappointing. A mistake of this nature should have been resolved quickly, yet I have been left without a refund, without clear communication, and without any effective means of escalating my concerns.

I would like the following:

* An immediate full refund for my order.
* A full explanation of how another customer’s entire order was delivered to me.
* An explanation as to why this issue has still not been resolved after nearly two weeks despite multiple calls to your customer service team.
* An explanation as to why customers cannot receive email updates or escalate complaints directly to a manager.
* Appropriate compensation for the inconvenience, time, frustration and poor customer service I have experienced.

I have always expected better from Sainsbury’s, but this experience has fallen far below an acceptable standard. I hope this matter will now be resolved without any further delay. If I do not receive a satisfactory response, I will consider escalating my complaint further.

Wrong order received

Wrong order received. When I finally got through to customer service they said ‘keep the goods and we will refund the whole amount’. 8 days later and no refund. Rang again and they refunded me 3 days later but deducted £5 off of the refund. Never using them again!!!

Absolute 💯 💩


Absolute 💯 shocking. Absolute dog turd. Ordered on Sainsbury’s app as click and collect times out / was glitchy. No problem happens

So used the chop chop service on the sainsburys app. ( what a naff name . Sounds like a barber shop ) If u call the chop chop helpine its like talking to scammers . They cant be bothered .

Prices inflated no issues was my choice . Ordered at 1pm meant to arrive by 2pm

Waited until 4pm . No worries hot weather so shop probably busy.

Couldn’t get through on telephone so called into local shop where order meant to be coming from. Thought id just pick up amd save hassle for both of us.

Helpfull staff but they didn't have order.

Called helpline and informed me it was cancelled confusing as implying like i hadnt checked out in time . Said i wasnt charged but money had left account.

They said it would be refunded within 3 hours. No problem no issues . Got shopping instore .

No refund came or even a cancelation. Called up asking where refund is and basically just argued that order was cancelled insisting i hadnt been charged or that i even recieved order email at all as my email address was incorrect. Even though i read them the email. From them.

Then said their system works and knew what they where doing and i should calm down.

Still no refund. No order cancellation and still have cash.

Its like the scam version of Sainsbury’s online. Waiting on one of the online scam catchers walking into the chopchop call centre . Thats what felt like on phone.

Not worth the agro. 😂 or sanity. Will just go in like normal people.

SCAM

SCAM - TERRIBLE SERVICE!! Order was delivered to wrong address and I never received the order. I have called 9 TIMES and been told every time “ A refund will come in 5 days” yet still no refund

Do not use this service

Do not use this service. I ordered 7 items and just one was delivered. I rang the driver who explained that Sainsbury's had told him none of the other items were in stock and I should have received an email to let me know. The email came in a minute or so after the driver left. What's the point of a rapid delivery service where there no stock check at the point of ordering? It's safe to say we'll never waste our money on chopchop again.

Scam service

Scam service - DO NOT USE. I placed an order on 9th May, it wasn't delivered and when I called the help desk after 2 hours they said they couldn't update me and that if it hadn't arrived in 3 hours I'd automatically receive a refund. I have phoned twice to chase my refund and emailed three times. Despite their assurances of processing a refund I have still received nothing.

Don't bother with Sainsbury's Chop Chop!!!

If there was zero, this is what the service deserves. Sadly, I didn't read the reviews before giving the Sainsbury's Chop Chop service a go . . . order went through OK, then got stuck on 'order accepted' with payment showing as 'pending' in my banking app. After an hour, called to ask what was happening - it seems you need to phone AS WELL as using the app, to make sure the store knows you've asked for an order!!! Assured it would arrive in 30 minutes, app showed it as 'being picked'. 5 minutes later, got an email 'your personal shopper has cancelled the order'!! At least the pending payment has gone from my banking app . . . Sainsbury's ought to stop this service as their normal online delivery is good in my experience and this is damaging their reputation.

Nightmare

Nightmare. Don't use this service. After waiting an hour and forty five minutes for the order to be picked up without an update (they say it will be delivered within 60 mins) I cancelled the order on the 11 May 26, and after several calls being promised this money is being processed for refund I still don't have it on the 27th may. Launched a dispute on Barclays app but good luck getting through to someone within sainsburys who will help. Total scammers and should be taken to court. Seems like others have had the same experience from similar reviews.

A complete joke, substitution Scam

A complete joke. Used for first time today and will DEFINITELY NOT be using again.
Placed an order, all well and good, got an email to say they had my order, then got a second message to say my order was on its way, again all well and good.
When the order was delivered they had substituted an item which I did not want the substitution, so I called Customer Service and they told me They would not refund as they had sent me an email and as I had not responded then I would have to accept the substitution.The 2 mails I have had at 12.00 and 12.33 the mail they claim to have sent was 12.13. Funny how the other 2 arrived but not the middle one.
I asked to speak to a manager and was promised a call back but NO CALL received much like the email I did not receive either.
I am now going to contact the bank to cancel the whole transaction so they get paid for nothing as opposed to just the non wanted substitution.
Bunch of Scammers….Tesco next time….

Order delivered to wrong address multiple calls still no £55 refund and rude and dismissive staff on the contact number.

Chargeback requested via my bank and formal complaint to Sainsbury’s whome I will never use again

I’m extremely upset and disappointed…

I’m extremely upset and disappointed with chop chop sainsburys
Second time using them
First time got a text saying cancelled had to spend time calling customer services to find it wasn’t cancelled
Second time was this Monday … also got a text saying cancelled but ignored it and then it said on App delivered ! It hadn’t been delivered , called customer services to find, passed to store , store cannot confirm who had picked the items even though it was 30 minutes prior, couldn’t confirm if it was handed to a driver , couldn’t confirm anything other than they could see that it hadn’t been signed for at my end, told to call Chop Chop for refund as they cannot reinstate me or refund me from store, called Chop Chop, informed someone would be in touch with refund but no one has been in touch, no refund , no groceries and out of pocket ! I’m disgusted really as imagine that was an elderly person with no more money left in their bank and no food in their cupboards to feed them and can’t get out due to health concerns, they’d have to starve , it’s unethical ! Contact me Chop Chop I want my money back ! Fuming - 0 stars from me

Nice in principle but not in practice

Nice in principle, but how I wish I'd read the reviews.

Decided to get a 60min lunchtime delivery to a family member who was dealing with a bereavement. Order went through fine, went to picking my order....then nothing. No delivery and no update. Sainsbury's live online want you to talk to their Chop Chop partners...who don't want to talk to me because I'm not the name on the delivery. Rang their helpline four times in total. First time they said they were waiting for it to be picked up, once they said they couldn't hear me, and the other two times they were unable to advise.

Eight hours later and I've given up hope. There's not even an option to cancel my order so I'm just going to let it run it's course and hope that my grieving family don't get rudely awakened in the middle of the night with stale groceries.

Shocking service -Order cancelled because they didn’t…

Order cancelled because they didn’t have a driver. Still waiting for my refund five days later. No food and no money to purchase from elsewhere. This order was for my 83 year old mum as she is house bound. Very poor service and won’t be using them again. If they can’t find a driver they shouldn’t take your money until it’s out for delivery. Very, very angry and had to ring three different numbers to make a complaint and still haven’t had a reply. This service should be removed from the Sainsburys app

When I click on the pay button again I get a message saying payment failed & to check details but where are the details?

Shocking took my money

Shocking took my money. Were meant to deliver to my 90 year old mum when someone was there to help her. Offered me free delivery next time LOL. Won't refund for 2 days. Wasted time to customer service who couldn't contact the store and suggested I did. They should delete the App.
