Not a great experience went for a specific car which could not be found had to wait an hour also took my driving licence away which I had to ask to get back after an hour and they take your part exchange car for over an hour to value it and don't tell you where they parked it.
As a car supermarket the buying experience was less personal but the sales staff were attentive and helpful. The purchasing process was very quick and organised. The vehicle was as described and good value. Aftersales help was also good. There was a delay in returning my security deposit but this was sorted when I chased it up.

DO NOT LEAVE A DEPOSIT
I left a deposit of £250 on a car when I went to view it there was scratches all over the window tint what appeared to be from a dog I asked for the scratches to be sorted and got told they would reduce the price by £200 I was not willing to spend £25000 on a car i had to have repaired so decided not to take the car after several offers of them trying to sell the car to me I kept insisting I just wanted my deposit back witch was hard work I was told the deposit would be payed back in 3-5 working days but on day 5 still no refund I have spent most of this morning on the phone trying to sort this been told several times a manager will ring back within the hour but nothing ever happens now the Barnet branch in ignoring my phone calls and holding on to my £250 BEWARE NOT A RELIABLE COMPANY

My experience with Car Planet was extremely poor.
The communication was terrible from the get-go, but I needed a car and saw one that I liked. After I paid a deposit, a representative told me it had been accidentally applied to the wrong car. After that, my calls and messages went unanswered, which was extremely stressful and unprofessional.
The on-site service was also very inefficient and, at times, rude. Before my test drive, one of the managers took my driving license. Because the experience that day was so stressful, I hurried home, leaving the licence behind. The next day, I came by to request it, and I was told it had already been posted to me. Since it never arrived, I can only assume that was not true, which reflects my whole experience of dishonesty. I had to pay £20 for a replacement licence.
Overall, the whole experience was stressful, badly handled, and completely unacceptable. Buying a car should be a happy moment and a good experience. Car Planet killed the joy!

The test drive itself was very limited providing few opportunities to really test the car. If it had been a manual, I wouldn't have got out of third gear.
I have spent a month trying to get a response from their aftersales service, with a straightforward question, but cannot get a response despite chasing multiple times.

I purchased a car and was mis sold badly from add ons. To the car. Car was 14k but my car finance has it as 17k. I asked for the mid sold add ons to be cancelled within day and was ignored. My 5000 pounds tha was not added to my car price also. After 9 long months of trying to contact someone to help and speaking to so many members of staff via email. I’ve got two different receipts. Barnet sent a fraud receipt to Watford (without my signature) Watford sent me this as they couldn’t understand my complaint as the figures didn’t add up. I sent Watford my original signed receipt and then they didn’t know what to do and kept telling me to deal with Barnet branch. Within months I had to change my cars breaks, get a major service done. (The add ons sold was sold to me that it would cover these above things too. They lied about that too) then 9month later my clutch went. I didn’t realise the clutch being heavy at purchase was an indication of clutch issue. Car planet staff are very hostile and rude. We are now on route to court and am just waiting for a date. They offered me 4.5k back but I want the full 5k. Unfortunately when do get to court it will be more than 5k too as interest and court fees will be added. I would strongly suggest NOT buying a car from this company

I recently purchased a Volkswagen Golf from Car Planet and had a very positive experience throughout the process. The team was friendly, professional, and helpful from my initial enquiry right through to collection of the vehicle.
The car was presented exactly as described, in excellent condition, and all my questions. The buying process was smooth, straightforward, and well organised, making it a stress-free experience.

I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. Car Planet Barnet handed our Kia Sportage over effectively unfuelled, and it broke down within about 4 miles in live traffic, creating a dangerous hazard at a central junction. I am 8 months pregnant (high risk) and had to attend hospital that night with elevated heart rate and blood pressure from the stress. PCP costs, including the balloon payment, were not clearly disclosed, and we had to insist on seeing the paperwork in advance. Even after we chose HP, we were repeatedly pressured to take PCP in clear breach of FCA conduct expectations. There were no proper handover checks, the boot cover was missing, and when we called for help the salesperson (Jordan) was rude and tried to shift responsibility onto us—ignoring basic consumer protections and duty of care. Management failed to call back despite multiple promises, and after‑sales lines rang out—effectively non‑existent support. I have reported this to Car Planet’s escalation email, the FCA, our HP finance provider, Trading Standards, and Kia UK due to the reputational impact on the brand and the serious safety risk at a junction where even an ambulance was impeded. Unsafe, unprofessional, unethical, and deeply disappointing.
Response: we have already emailed. We are waiting Car Planet’s response still.
