This is the third hive I have bought from Caddon Hives and I thoroughly recommend them. The quality is very good, the service is exceptional and nothing is too much trouble for them. It is such a pleasure to deal with an independent family well run business.

Very good quality hives. I ordered mine to be assembled and it was ready for collection within the week. All parts of the roof are cedar, unlike my other hive from Thornes which uses chipboard with cedar sides. Excellent value for money.

Really good hive, sensible design, easy to put together & well made. Also looks very good, i tried making my own hive recently out of red cedar & found it not so easy to get hold of, pricey & prone to splitting. Ended up costing not much less than this hive, plus my time, & being less good.
Also came very quickly after ordering- about 3 days i think- which was very welcome since the reason i wanted it was to rehouse my bees, who were crammed into their original nuc box after being moved to make way for a swarm. Very cross with me, for the first time in our acquaintance, but have now quickly settled into their new quarters.

Fast, friendly and excellent service. Recommended.

I called on the off chance that I would be able to speak to someone..on a Saturday, lockdown has meant I've lost my sense of time! I was lucky to speak to Peter who was brilliant, he explained what I needed to do and so ordered my hive. It's important to me to support a UK and family business that not only care for and about bees but also the environment.

My Hive arrived last week and its absolutely wonderful. The smell of the cedar wood as I opened the boxes was amazing, its made to such a high standard and packed with care. My next step is rehoming some fantastic bees and I know they will be extremely happy.

These were my first hives and I spent ages comparing price and quality before going with Caddon, who had been recommended by a local beekeeper. I have to say I am delighted. I bought them in kit form and they arrived within three days. Excellent quality cedar and a joy to assemble. Pete quickly answered any queries I had. A small company that is well worth supporting.

Top quality cedar brood bodies and super fast delivery - I couldn't be more pleased! I've a mix of poly and cedar hives but only ever bought cedar seconds previously, and decided to pay a bit more to replace two old brood boxes with something better quality. I've never used Caddon previously but won't be buying cedar hive parts from anywhere else now. The parts are really cleanly sawn, not a single knot to be seen and a fabulous rich red and come complete with metal runners and all the fittings - very reasonable price for the quality
