They say in Make.com that the API token is free, but then there is a paywall to access the API token. Very frustrating!

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your disappointment but you can actually access your API key for free.
To clarify: the API key is available during the 7-day free trial, which does not require any payment if canceled before it converts to a paid plan.
We do indeed request a credit card upfront to prevent misuse, as offering API access comes with significant costs for us. However, during the trial, you can access all features, including the API token, without being charged.
