Bofin had a public beta launch in three different regions - the EEA, the Middle East, and Africa. In each region, we partnered with a different regulated institution, both by regulatory necessity and by design to understand the benefits and pain points from all angles. While our partnerships in the Middle East and Africa have seen tremendous success, the same was unfortunately not the case for the EEA. Given the number of complaints we received from our userbase in the EEA, we had no choice but to phase out the public beta offering in the region.

Firstly, please accept our apologies again for the unpleasant experience you had with our platform. Even though the decision to withhold your funds was made by the regulated institution through which you purchased your account, I can see why you may have perceived the situation differently. While I understand that you were ultimately able to recover your funds, we regret that it was only after much escalation with the regulated entity through which you purchased your account.

As a virtual marketplace, Bofin connects consumers and regulated institutions on one platform to facilitate the sale and purchase of financial products and services. Any such transactions are subject to the terms and conditions imposed by the selling institution. Due to legal and regulatory requirements, Bofin is prohibited from being a party to the transaction, from accessing or holding any consumer funds, and from making any decisions regarding consumers’ access to purchased products and services or their funds. By law, regulated institutions hold all such powers and controls and Bofin's technology must be engineered to follow their instructions.

To the best of our knowledge, Bofin is the first such platform for financial products and services. Bofin had a public beta launch in three different regions - the EEA, the Middle East, and Africa. Thank you for providing feedback about your experience using the Bofin app during the platform's public beta phase. Kindly see my response to the feedback you posted on April 8, 2020. While the decision to close your account and withhold your funds was made by the regulated institution through which you purchased your account, we are truly sorry for the difficulties it caused. I can understand why you felt that Bofin did not care - however, please know that we cared enough to stop all operations in the EEA until we partnered with a regulated entity that was aligned with the experience we aim to provide for our users.
