Black Milk Clothing is both attractive and highly adaptable. Needless to say we are extremely satisfied with the results. If you aren't sure, always go for the right size. I don't always clop, but when I do, it's because of this great site.
I leave this review as someone who has been an ardent fan of BM for years. I have a sizeable collection and, in the past, whenever I had a CS issue it was resolved professionally and quickly. I’m sad to say this isn’t the case anymore.
BM recently sent me some overalls that had really wobbly stitching (it honestly looked like someone’s first time using a sewing machine). The design was meant to be symmetrical and instead it was misaligned, parts of the design cut off and the seams didn’t even line up in the centre but off at an angle. This was an item where it did not contain the “prints may look different” caveat on the sale page as many often do (as BM don’t even try to get item print to line up or look like the model items anymore for most items).
I contacted CS explaining the issue and that all I wanted was a replacement pair or repair and that I would even be happy to send the originals back. BM refused, stating this was within their QC thresholds. They genuinely consider poor wonky stitching and misaligned prints to be “up to scratch” for items costing over £70 (with shipping and taxes on top!)
They offered me a refund as a “goodwill gesture” or a small gift voucher that literally wouldn’t even have covered the cost of the item or what I paid in customs to receive the item in the first place.
BM’s prices are so expensive and while some of their items are unique and maybe worth it, if you have an issue (particularly if you are overseas and have incurred extra costs), their customer services are incredibly unhelpful. They have a tendency to blame customers were they can, or claim that dodgy design/stitching issue X is actually an acceptable product.
Maybe I will buy BM as a very rare thing in the future but honesty, for most people, the quality, price and awful, patronising customer service just isn’t worth it anymore. If you’re buying printed items, you’re taking a gamble as to whether it will look awful with how it lines up when it arrives.
Separately, their sizing is incredibly inconsistent and you basically have to ask other fans about going up/down 1-2 items in every style as they all fit completely differently. BM used to also boast being a made in Australia company but now half of what they sell is Made in China but for almost the same cost as the Made in Australia items!
Not sure what happened to this company but they really don’t care about loyal customers anymore.
The quality of the materials have gone down since I last bought a few years ago. The prints on the tights stretch and you can see the white material show though underneath. I was wearing them for the gym but not with my latest purchase because it’s not squat-prof. Shame because I was happy to support an Australian company but it seems profits have overtaken quality products and now turned BM into another cheap (but $$$) online store .
I have had none of the issues mentioned in the poor reviews below. I am new to the brand, and have a large collection of new and second hand items. All are excellent quality. I've also had cause to contact customer service a couple of times, and they have been nothing but awesome and helpful to me.
I understand this is just my experience, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the brand to anyone ! Perhaps because I am new, I can't compare what the experience is now to what it was... But as I said, it's the best online shopping experience I've ever had :)
Other than what everyone else has been saying (I too was refused a refund for an item that was basically a manufacturing and sizing fault) I also want to add that their request for feedback is constantly tokenistic. They say they care about customers but still don't use proper plus size models, or gender neutral terms, or have a Welcome to Country acknowledgement on their website, or any of the things they said they were going to do. Even when jL came back it was the same. I found their MadMax collection in poor taste given the timing. Their "Asian-inspired" collection casually racist.
Their sizes go against ACCC laws advertising an item to a size it does not and saying I have to pay return postage. My sizing would be any where from an S to XXL in their range because they refused to address this and BM Fit made it even worst and it just goes on and on. When I asked their response was "the measurements on our sizing chart are the average measurements of customers who fit into that particular size and not measurements of the garments themselves." Whaaattt? That is not how clothes sizing works... So when my clothing item doesn't fit me despite the fact I fit into their "average size chart" no problems -- it's apparently not their problem. Not ok.
I don't buy from Black Milk any more despite being a customer for years. Save yourself money and buy second hand or from companies that provide better customer service.
I’ve wanted a black milk piece for years but I’ve always been put off by the cost. I absolutely *had* to give in when I saw a recent limited edition design, space tentacles dress. As it was a LE price it equaled about £50 which isn’t too bad, especially given their long standing reputation for quality products.
I wish I’d just waited for the dupe to appear on cheap sites. It’s cool but definitely poor quality. The colours don’t look as bright, the fabric feels poor quality to the touch, and the design is printed on white fabric? I’ve since learned that this allegedly is to make the pattern more vibrant, but as it’s so badly done the white shines through with the slightest stretch, and the stitching is so bad you can see the white thread at the seams. Definitely will not order from here again.
I somehow got away without being stung for the import charges which I think must be corona related.
Not giving 1* as I still really like the design and will still wear it.

Wild designs and average quality. But, if like me you want to standout and make a statement, then their prolific editions are for you. Fabrics are so-so but I don't have their gear on for long in my game and the customers tend to be drawn to me when I wear BM leggings, so $$$'s for me and high marks for BM.
Black Milk has TANKED. But most importantly: They Do Not Care. The reviews below ring true for the entire client base that made BM Clothing such a run away success. We loved the designs and the quality was out of this world. We ordered. We told our friends. We got stalked in public by women wanting to know where we got what we were wearing. We wrote black milk clothing on more scraps of paper and handed to strangers than we could ever remember. We were called Sharkies. We loved BM. BM loved us. We were in it together. Building this brand and proud to wear it out where ever we went. We had true dedication to Black Milk and the original creator.
Then it changed. And a whole brand new bandwagon of complete beeches rolled into town and pulled the rug out from all of us. We spent hundreds and sometimes thousands on BM designs because of the trusting return policy; if a 100.00 pair of amazing tights didn't fit--we could send back. We held this return policy sacred and never abused it. Then suddenly, while we were still trusting you and still buying and making our boyfriends buy us your stuff--you pulled a fast one. Many ladies ordered and got stuck with ill fitting clothing because you took your high end designs overseas to shonky third world countries. You wouldn't accept returns. Your customer service ladies were curt, short and unappreciative of our years of word of mouth business building we'd given. They did not care about the buckling seams or the ill fitting bathing suit or the tights that had a saggy bum but cost 120.00. They could not care less about how many angry original customers were crying foul. The original owner sold out or brought in marketing partners. The quality tanked. The sizes tanked. The materials became thin, cheap and even seams became visible. Some items ran small, others large, there was no measure to order accurately because quality control and sizing was in a foreign country. And yet the prices stayed the same. 100 tights, 150.00 dresses. The original customer base felt burned and insulted, because we knew we had built your brand and you left us when you no longer needed us. Like a bad boyfriend who uses one girl to get over another then ditches her when the first look alike comes along--BM, hate to say it but like a smarmy boyfriend we trusted--you suck. This is why there's hate in them there reviews down below--because it was just too damn personal for most of us. And now we refuse to spend our money on your site--even if we want to--just due to principle of how your new customer service babes treated us. Many of us hope you fail.
I know I personally never give out the name black milk anymore when people ask where I got my cool outfit. I will not build a brand that turned on your customer base as you did.
Yes the BM site still looks cool and you may be very tempted to do some late night purchasing of these one of a kind items but know this: the quality will not be what you expected. if you are an original bm customer, the quality wont be the same as all the other stuff in your closet. the fit will run smaller on some items and larger on others, and whatever doesn't work---you'll be out the hundreds of dollars you paid for it--because BM will not honor any return for any reason--even when it's due to their own plummeting quality control. But hey if you like gambling in Vegas and losing your money then you might feel right at home buying from here--a trilling high followed by an agonizing sense of loss!
BUYER BEWARE. I have always been a loyal Black Milk customer for nearly a decade, and have spent hundreds of pounds on their site, despite the expensive import fees as an English buyer. However, their poor customer service and inflexibility regarding T&C’s means I unfortunately will never purchase from them again and cannot in good conscience recommend them to anybody else. At the end of the day, no matter how nice your products are, if your core values and the way you treat the people who make you money, aren’t good, then it lets the whole business down.
I had an incident a while back when ordering a pair of burnt velvet leggings. The first time I wore them I noticed they had a slight ladder, so I contacted CS asking for a replacement (they weren’t LE, they were regular line). They flat out refused to offer anything to fix this, instead they blamed me for not being delicate enough with the item and refused to exchange them. They didn’t even offer me a slight discount or store credit. Nothing. I should have taken this red flag and immediately stopped shopping with them but fool me twice I guess.
The latest incident is that due to the pandemic I haven’t been able to collect an item from the sorting office and so it has been automatically sent back to them. I emailed some time later and asked that once it’s received, I would like a refund. They flat out refused to do this and cited their T&C’s which state that for a Return to Sender, the buyer has only two options, you can either pay handling fees to have store credit or pay even more money to have the item sent back to you again. However, at this point as I am out of work and as my financial position has significantly changed, I would simply like a refund of my monies. Call me crazy, but what exactly is the difference between RTS and a traditional return for black milk? As long as they’ve received the item within the returns period, why can’t their consumers have a refund for said item? Both other options needlessly lose the customer money. This is a cruel and money grabbing scheme which only benefits the company. I would never recommend a brand which unyieldingly does this, especially during such difficult and unprecedented times. Good will = none existent.
i purchased a pressie for Christmas and in a matter of a few hours the item went on sale. Rather then send the item back i emailed to advise if they could refund or credit the $40 odd dollar difference. However the return email was just a standard email about their policy.
I have purchased from department stores who were more than happy to refund the difference. First and last time i will ever purchase from them!
You spend $100s of dollars and they will not provide good customer service regarding shipping and tracking. They don't respond to emails through their internal email on website. If you get your parcel/ package at all... It will take 2-3months to receive your order! Do Not Buy from this company!
I will never order from your company again. Horrible customer service, especially to a a long time customer. You're greedy capitalists. You steal money from your customers. Refusing to refund a return, or even provide a credit because of a makeup mark I was completely unaware of on the INSIDE OF THE DRESS. I seriously never saw any makeup when I tried it on ONCE, and how could I when the mark is on the inside of a garment? I hope you feel happy that you lost a good customer and that your greedy company has stolen $100 from me.

I don't know what's going on at Black Milk of late, but it's not good!
I've been a long time purchaser with a ridiculous number of pieces, however, the quality of their clothing has deteriorated of late and their customer service is abrupt, rude and dismissive.
I just get an overall sense that Black Milk think they are better than the customer and that the customer should be grateful to Black Milk for allowing them to purchase their products - Rather than being grateful and respectful to and for their customers .... Without whom, there is no Black Milk.
Cancelled for me.

They steal artists’ work and deny it. There are multiple items of clothing using Daria Latsovas work; hundreds of people confirmed that the likeness was irrefutable. Blackmilk refused to take responsibility or credit her. They don’t deserve anyone’s support.
Out of 3 items 2 are great and the other pretty good, but a little short - overall very good quality and customer service is pretty good! Could be a little better but very happy with them.
Fed up with this site. So difficult to order-always have difficulty with site crashing then, when you finally order, you get hit with a massive customs charge. Sorry to say it's just not worth it any more.
Blackmilk leggings a couple years ago used to be unbeatable. Since changing their fabric to save costs obviously its absolutely disgusting. Their fabric is now see through and they have become more expensive.. however that works. Dont waste your money here. Definately not even worth a cent. Cheap fabric and cheap service. I will never ever shop here again
