£20 for a box cake mix. You are having a laugh!
Ridiculously expensive for an underwhelming packet mix cake.
I baked the November chai cake today and it has ended up quite flat, too much cinnamon crumb and I ran out of icing despite scrimping on the middle layer.
The cake itself tasted ok, but it was so incredibly greasy, it has put me off for life!
445g in a 7 inch cake- no wonder it was dense, greasy and felt like I was eating a sweetened block of butter.
At full price you’re paying £14 for the dry ingredients + £5 in butter and extra icing sugar. This experience has left me wondering why anyone would pay £19 for a packet mix cake.
Honestly, it’s unbelievable

We're also sorry to hear that you don't feel as though the subscription is good value for money. We try our best to keep costs as low as possible and feel there is more value to the subscription than just the bakes themselves. For example, you can keep your recipe cards and re-make the recipes again and again. We also have a Facebook group exclusively for members of the club. Here you can share pictures of your bakes, discuss baking tips and be the first to know about discounts and events! :)

Not worth the money or trouble
I started a subscription and received my box it came a little over a month later and being novices at baking we had been looking forward to doing it with the kids the box came and we had to purchase multiple items costing over £5 had this been a full price box this cake would have cost way too much. We started making it with the kids following the instructions to the t but when it came to the butter cream it was extremely stiff so the recipe said to add a few tbs of milk to get the desired consistency and it just split we tryed to save it by mixing more but it didn't work and the recipe had offered no advice warnings or any mention of this possibility at all. We contacted baked in who we thought said that they would send out another kit so we purchased the ingredients again that cost over £5 and waited on the box but it never came so we contacted back to see what the delay with the box was only to be told they wanted a message back agreeing to the replacement they then proceeded to say there where none of those recipes left and put 500 brownie points on our account that isn't enough for a replacement as previously offered and now the ingredients purchased are waisted and baked in customer service couldn't care less they where extremely eager to cancel our subscription and refuse an alternative way to fix this like send out an alternative recipe as I suggested. As for offering advice via Email that's pointless if the issue needs an immediate fix as for brownie points please tell me what replacement bake I can get with those without having to spend yet more money

We're so sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience with us.
We try to keep our recipes as concise as possible. We're always happy to advise if you have any questions on what can go wrong with a bake via email or our exclusive to members Facebook group.
We will always send out another box if there is an issue from our end with a bake.
As a goodwill gesture, if something goes wrong in the baking process unrelated to an issue our end, we might offer you a chance to try a box again. We'll also make sure to send top tips from our recipe developers to minimise the chance of the issue happening again.
It sounds that this was perhaps offered to you but by the time we heard back we had ran out of the bake, so we're really sorry to hear that left you feeling disappointed. This will be why brownie points were offered so that you still had some sort of goodwill gesture.
We will only cancel a subscription if a customer has requested it.
We're really sorry again for your experience but we're happy you gave our baking club a go.

Awesome for kids!
We received a lovely package. I Can't wait to bake them this morning.

Regarding the mug cakes, we recommend that microwave baking is best, however they can also be baked in an oven. Simply put the mixture in an oven-proof ramekin dish and bake at 160 degrees (fan oven) for 15 minutes

It arrived quickly but was slightly pricey. So far have made the white chocolate and cranberry cookies and the panettone. Both lacked flavour really. Nothing that makes them any better than cheaper alternatives.

Ordered as a gift on Thursday, didn’t arrive until the following Saturday, 10 days for delivery, missed my nephews birthday. No contact number to speak to someone, so I emailed twice, eventually got a reply with updated Royal Mail tracking information. That was it! In my opinion, poor customer service, will not purchase from them again.

We're sorry to hear that you find the subscription expensive. We do find for a lot of our customers that it's a more cost effective way of baking, as they get the exact amount of ingredients they need, so they don't have leftover ingredients sitting in their cupboard getting wasted.
