I think the academy's portal and structure works well. The assignments are also in depth and allow different skills to be practiced. I feel there is a lack of assistance when completing online tasks. I still struggle with sketchup and autocad and have found that the academy has not assisted myself here. I know that many of my classmates had the same struggles, and many have had to seek external classes and help. This should be something that the academy provides as an all round service.

I have positive experience with the school. I like that the tutor and the student support are available anytime and respond to requests quickly and in a supportive way.

I like the positive feedback from the tutor even if the assignment was unsuccessful.

An extensive course, with valuable insight into the world of interior design, ranging from the basics to 3d rendering and project management. The tutors are helpful and always on hand, helping guide you through the course.

However, as I'm currently doing the HND, it can become quite costly. Despite getting an educational discount, you still need to source 2D and 3D software which range in price and need to be renewed yearly. I also had to purchase a new computer in order to keep up with rendering demands and higher graphics.

My experience so far at the British Academy of Interior Design has been enlightening, inspiring and enjoyable! Although the assignments can be challenging, I feel as though each one expands my knowledge and skills of the industry and develops my excitement to get started in a professional role once I have completed the course. I study online, from home, but I find it easy to communicate with my tutors, Joana Moriera and Catarina Viseu, who always offer the utmost guidance and assistance when I need it. I find the course materials and lessons available on the website massively helpful and aid me to achieve the best possible grades. I'm looking forward to continuing my studies and expanding my skillset!

Catarina has been very helpful and very quick in responding to my questions regarding the course and assignments. He also gives great pieces on advice on accomplishing tasks.

The course is well put together, but much harder than I initially thought it'll be. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, probably good as it's more challenging. Tutors are absolutely wonderful, and always helpful.

Half way though the pg dip at present, I have really really enjoyed it so far. I feel like I have learned a lot and am growing in confidence alongside gaining practical experience.

My tutor grades my work quickly and gives useful feedback.

I would say that it’s mainly self guided study, they introduce various topics in the modules but details are more theoretical than practical, and you need to go away and find out more, but that style of learning works for me.

The only criticism I note is that the course is a little repetitive sometimes e.g, the same section on colour theory and lighting is repeated so many times across the modules (sometimes the same module!) which is annoying to me, but if you learn by repetition then perfect for you!
