Enjoyable experience!
The on-site classes have been incredibly fun and informative and I really enjoyed connecting with the other students and tutors during that time. The online library and resources center is really helpful and the online tutors are usually very quick to respond.
If I could improve one thing I would add more on-site classes as I just think they keep the motivation going.

My recent experience of BAID has been great. My tutor and the support staff have been especially helpful over the last year, in better guiding me through interior design assignments and helping me prepare my portfolio for professional work while living overseas. Studying remotely at degree-level has been challenging, but I am thankful for the support received. BAID are especially helpful for students based on the UK, as the online course can be supplemented with classroom studies and work experience opportunities.

I am currently studying toward an HNC as a mature student, and I have to say I am loving every moment! The platform is simple and user-friendly, and my Tutor (Rita) is extremely supportive and quick to respond which helps enormously!

My teacher Rita is very supportive and answers quickly to all the questions I have.

HNC 3D/Interior Design - Fabulous!

I have been studying for around 10 months at the BAID, with Rita as my tutor. My experience so far has been nothing but great. The portal is well laid out, I find the assignment briefs very detailed and easy to understand and most importantly, the advice and responses from Rita have been really quick (usually within 2 days max), clear and very helpful. If you send a list of clear questions for advice...you get clear and detailed responses. Its simple!

The course definitely needs your full commitment and the majority of it is self learning and development, but with the portal clearly guiding you. You need to be dedicated and it be something you have the ability to really give time to. If you want to achieve high and actually learn in the process theres lots of additional learning beneficial too (like learning different design softwares), it really is what you make of it.

Lately, the course has been great. My assignments have been returned quickly (assignments should be returned to students with in 2 working weeks, and lately mine have been coming back with-in that time or even quicker) and the feed back has been very constructive. My tutor is also very quick to answer emails, usually no more than a day or two before I get an answer to my questions. However, at the beginning of my course, none of the above was true, but benefit of the doubt and all that. I will say, as someone who is working part-time and completing the HND, it is a lot of work and I personally, wouldn't be able to complete the course within 4 years if I was working full time - I am on my third year and half way through the assignments.

I’m currently halfway through my Higher National Certificate in Interior Design with the British Academy of Interior Design, and I’m really pleased with the course. The material is well-organized and easy to follow, which has made learning feel exciting and achievable.

I really appreciate the support from my tutor Rita. She's always approachable, giving me thoughtful feedback, and genuinely wanting me to succeed. Whenever I feel stuck or unsure, her guidance helps me feel more confident about what I’m doing.

The flexibility of the course has also been a huge plus. It fits well into my busy schedule, and I’ve been able to progress at a pace that works for me.

Overall, it’s been a fantastic experience, and I can’t wait to see how much more I’ll learn as I continue. If you’re passionate about interior design, I’d definitely recommend this program.

Rita M is always very quick to respond to my questions and correspondence. She answers everything in full and very clearly, along with helpful examples and extra resources when helpful

I am currently taking an online course, and I have found it to be very helpful and easy to understand. If I ever encounter any difficulties, I can always ask my tutor for assistance, and there are also live sessions available to join. I would highly recommend this course to anyone considering it.

I enrolled in the Higher National Diploma (BTEC) Home Study course. The Online Learning Centre is easy to use and has a range of resources. Tutor feedback on assignments is clear and constructive, helping to improve on knowledge of interior design principles. Lessons are interesting and engaging, diving right into practical skills in interior design.

I'm only a couple of months in my interior design course, but so far I'm quite happy with it. I'll admit that if my budget had permitted, I would have chosen the live classes version. Having said that, I have received excellent support throughout and everyone has had immense patience with me, which I truly appreciate. My tutor, Rita is always prompt to reply and she has taken so much time to help me and explain how to improve my work without judgement. Alastair in Student Services has also been exceptional in his help. He has guided me through all initial decisions and procedures, saved me money and been a total rock star.

Overall a great course and great value for money. I've learnt more than I thought I would have. The course has provided me with the confidence in pursuing my interest in interior design and working as a professional.

I'm learning so much and starting from scratch it's been really interesting. The core principles with technical and creative drawing are very useful. Looking forward to next steps with CAD and other practices.

Baid is great! All the lecturers respond to you quickly and are very helpful/ kind. One criticism I have is the content for the assignment briefs are quite long winded and could be shortened into easier explanations of what you need to do. At first glance reading assignment briefs can be quite overwhelming with lots of text.

My tutor Catarina is so lovely and helpful! The website is easy to navigate and I love the work and the help I receive.

The curriculum is well-structured, covering a wide range of topics...My tutor, Rita Marques, has been an invaluable support throughout my time in the BAID program. From the very beginning, she has demonstrated exceptional expertise and a genuine passion for interior design, which has greatly enriched my learning experience.
Overall, I am truly thankful for the support and encouragement I have received from the Student Services and the BAID staff. Their dedication to student success is inspiring, and I feel well-equipped to pursue my aspirations in interior design.

Catarina has been so quick to reply to my emails when I've had queries about the assignment and has been very helpful and thorough in her explanations.

It wasn't easy to start learning, but I gradually got into it. One of the main advantages is that the teachers and the academy team are always ready to help, answer questions and provide support. They are always in touch, which makes the learning process more comfortable and motivating.

Among my strengths, I can highlight the fact that I feel like I'm growing and developing. I learned a lot of new things, and although studying is still difficult for me, these difficulties help me get out of my comfort zone, which I consider an important part of personal growth.

At the same time, I sometimes lack specific information on topics. I often get lost in the abundance of materials on the Internet, and sometimes I just can't find what I need. It would be extremely useful to have access to examples of completed work to better understand the criteria for assignments. As a visual learner, I consider it important not only to read the text, but also to see practical examples.

Video lessons with teachers are very useful, but they are not enough - usually only one lesson is allocated for one assignment. Sometimes I get stuck because I don't understand which direction to move in. I think having more visual examples on the academy website or recorded lectures that I could watch would have made the learning process much easier.

Overall, despite the difficulties, I can see my progress and growth, and this motivates me to continue. However, learning online is incredibly difficult, especially when you have to combine learning with independent research.

I have been a student at the British Academy of Interior Design for about 13 months now.

This is a great course to do If you have an interest in interior design or are interested in a career in it. I chose to do lessons in person which were extremely valuable. My in person teacher Samuele Viola was amazing, very knowledgeable & passionate and was a big part of the course for me.

The student services are very helpful and respond quickly to you, I will say that it is a very in-depth course and will take up a lot of your time! I have been doing it whilst working full time which is manageable, however initially I thought I would be able to finish it in about 13 months, now I realise it will take me roughly two years (just be aware its not a short/quick course).

My assignment tutor Rita has been extremely supportive, she gives great feedback and thorough comments, always replying to my emails & questions promptly.

The assignments give a good mix of the history of design, practical & creative assignments, it's an accessible and user friendly platform. I will say when it comes to Sketch-up I had a couple in person lessons on it but there isn't much from the academy to teach you (YouTube was very helpful in my case).

I will say if you can afford to do the course with in-person classes its is very valuable and inspiring, the course is definitely self guided so if you want to try something new or be serious about interior design its a great place to start.

BAID is a wonderful company with helpful, responsive, and understanding staff. If you want to complete an interior design degree online, BAID is a great option.

Of course, I can't speak for other tutors in the company, but my tutor, Rita, is extremely helpful. I am working hard to get my degree completed by August 2025 so that I can start my final year at university. I am past halfway through my degree, but after corresponding with Rita about my concerns about not completing my degree in time, she has assured me we will work together to reach my goals and deadlines. Aside from this, she has been helping me throughout the past year or so with marking my assignments and providing valuable feedback, enabling me to resubmit my work with no hassle. Whenever I message her regarding my assignments or with any questions, she will typically respond within a day or two unless she is away, in which case somebody else will take her place as my tutor (temporarily).

The student services team is quick to respond to any issues or concerns and includes lots of information in their replies. If you need support immediately, you can call the number they provide you with.

It's important to mention that completing a degree, although it's part-time and online, will take a lot of effort. I am completing the HND (Higher National Diploma), in which I am studying 'full-time' (by choice) to ensure I reach my study goals. I would encourage you to properly determine whether you have the time to complete the degree beforehand. Although they give you plenty of time (up to 4 years, depending on which one you choose) to complete your degree, I have heard of other students who drop out within the first few months as they didn't expect to be doing as much work as the assignments require. If you're willing and able to work hard and have the time, I would recommend studying with BAID.

Overall, my experience with BAID has been insightful, and I look forward to completing my degree with the company. They encourage you to produce the best work possible and help you along the way. They open you up to their connections and introduce you to many opportunities after you complete your degree.
