Convenient, professional, friendly - a great grooming service
We have used Backyard Pet Services since adopting our latest elderly doggy just over a year ago. We have used their mobile grooming monthly and once used their pet sitting service. We've had good experiences with both.
Our dog is now 15 years old, blind, and going deaf. He is skittish around new people, mainly because he's lost the ability to see and hear. However, he has been comfortable around the two groomers who have worked with him because they are so gentle and patient. Before trying to bring him into the mobile grooming truck the first few sessions, they spent plenty of time allowing him to approach them at his speed. Once inside, they are so good with him, speaking in soothing tones and being gentle in their bathing and grooming. They ask lots of questions, offer various options for bathing, grooming and products, and they are flexible with scheduling. We have had to juggle schedules sometimes when a groomer is ill or a mobile grooming van breaks down; however, the communication is excellent. Their response time via text or portal is always quick and friendly.
As for boarding, our guy spent 3 days at the owner's home (they offer boarding in your home or in hers) and he was well taken care of. She asked loads of questions, had us tour her home before deciding, and doted on him while we were away. We felt at ease, knowing our guy was well cared for.
Mobile grooming is so convenient and this company does a great job of also making it enjoyable for both pets and their humans. Their additional services (boarding, pet-sitting, etc.) are the icing on the cake.
