Trip to Bury Market
Just returned from the trip to Bury Market. It was our first trip with AVSED and so well organised from start to finish.
We would definitely recommend the day trips and intend to go on more!!

AVSED is a local charity based in Rawdon (LS19), serving the communities of Rawdon, Yeadon, Guiseley, and surrounding areas on the outskirts of Leeds. Our mission is to reduce loneliness, improve wellbeing, and help older and vulnerable people remain active, independent, and connected within their communities. Since 1992, we have provided a wide range of services and activities designed to support physical, mental, and social wellbeing. These include community transport, social groups, wellbeing programmes, dementia support services such as AVSEDplus, befriending opportunities, volunteer support, information and advice, and a variety of community activities that bring people together. AVSEDplus offers specialist support for people living with dementia and memory-related conditions, providing stimulating activities, social interaction, and meaningful opportunities to remain engaged, while also offering reassurance and support to family members and carers. Our dedicated staff and volunteers create welcoming, inclusive spaces where people can build friendships, gain confidence, access support, and enjoy meaningful experiences. Whether attending a lunch club, joining a wellbeing group, taking part in an AVSEDplus session, travelling to an appointment, or participating in one of our community events, people can expect a warm welcome and a supportive environment. We are proud to have been supporting our local community for over 30 years and welcome feedback from everyone who has used our services, volunteered with us, or supported our work.

AVSED does such a brilliant job!
AVSED does such a brilliant job of looking after us old folks in W. Yorkshire. Lots of activities and social events for everyone, no matter what your tastes and abilities: fitness classes, socials, trips to the seaside, pub lunches... you name it! Doesn't matter whether you're still active or in declining health, AVSED is the place to be!

Avsed amazing asset
This has been a god send to my Mum as Im not any longer living near by. They have given her a life back getting out and about and has things to look forward to each week,meaning shes not stuck inside day after day keeping her mind and body active Thankyou to all the voluteers that ensure this valuble service to our elderly community is available to them a very grateful daughter

AVSED community champions
AVSED are a much needed and welcome organisation in the Aireborough area running daily programs for the older and vulnerable members of our community. Their home at Greenacre Hall Rawdon is also the local community hall providing a safe space for several sports and social groups 6 nights a week.
I am really happy to endorse this organisation and long may they continue to provide a great safe space for our more senior and vulnerable local residents and the wider community.
