Over priced and a bit manipulative - shop around!

I regret to say that my view of hidden Hearing is not as positive as that expressed by others.

Good points:
1. Thorough hearing test and explanation of type of hearing loss and what options I had to rectify problems - in December.

Bad points:
1. In June, recevied a call encoraging me to get re-tested. Found the person on the call patronising / talking to me as if I could not understand. Asking me to bring a family member or friend with me is not an option as we all work. Nor will it affect my decision to buy or not to buy.

2. Went for the test, which they said they could not do beacause of a wax build up in one ear, but my hearing less would not have changed in just 6 months!

So, there had been no need for a re-test, just the need to get me back in to see if they could sell me a hearing aid.

3. The hearing aid I felt would best meet my needs was £6,500. My level of hearing loss is not sufficiently high to warrant the cost (as was the case 6 months earlier). They offered me one I did not like for £3k plus. I said I would reflect and at that point their friendly manner soured more than a little. The receptionist was very offhand throughout - possibly because I had asked her not to talk to me like I was stupid in the booking call :). Change your attitude and I'll change mine.

4. Having done some research it turns out that I could get the same aid from multiple high street audiologists for £3k less (M&S, Boots to name two). Their prices are almost double everywhere else on the High Street.

Summary:
This business appears to overcharge shamelessly (and don't tell me you get in lifetime service), as your offer was much the same service as your competitors.

They are not honest in their advice that you need a hearing test - what they mean is that they need you to buy a hearing aid. Not the same thing.

There may be reasons for you wanting to hear from a family member, but there are ways of inviting me to bring someone (not expecting) me to ask someone to come and help me.

I'll save myself the time and money and buy somewhere else.

However, we are genuinely sorry to hear that your recent interactions left you feeling disappointed and that you felt pressured rather than supported. This is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide.
We understand the frustration you have expressed regarding price in our experience, hearing care varies widely in terms of clinical expertise, technology quality, and the support included, so prices aren’t always directly comparable. Although we can’t speak for other providers, many customers who try lower cost options return after experiencing the difference in hearing results, technology performance, and personalised care.
We also appreciate your comments regarding being asked to bring a family member for support and understand this may not always be practical or something that every patient feels they need. The suggestion is intended as an option, and we are sorry if you feel this was not presented as such.

Received a free hearing test to check…

Received a free hearing test to check the need for any hearing aids. Staff member was very professional and thorough throughout the process with a good explanation of exactly what the test results meant. No problems identified and refreshing to note that I wasn't recommended anything I didn't need.

Worthwhile hearing test.

The audiologist listened to my hearing issues, carried out a thorough test (explaining all the way), came up with two possible solutions and was not pushy in any way. Would highly recommend.

Thank you for your Expertise in my own home

I was aware that my hearing had deteriorated and I was pleased to have my hearing aids updated in the usual efficient manner practiced by your expert.
Over and above the technical system which I find brilliant the help and guidance from your representative was to me a most valuable experience,I wish to thank Serish for her contribution to my increased enjoyment of using my hearing aids. There is no doubt that she is a credit to Hidden Hearing.
