This was the first time I had sold a house at Auction and the process was explained to me in a very clear, concise manner, so that I totally understood after one phone call.
Sophie kept me informed throughout.
The initial call was on a Monday, I agreed to put the property up for auction on the Tuesday and Sophie had uploaded the property details and they were live on the Thursday and within a month the property had sold.

We had never thought of taking the house to auction but after three "offers" that went nowhere using the old estate agent route ("Thanks for accepting the offer but the kids have decided they want a newer house") we discussed with our agent, YourMove and they put us in touch with Sam Harris at Auctionhouse. Sam was brilliant talked us through everything and when we accepted an offer "bang" it was a confirmed deal and went ahead without a hitch. We still had solicitors so there was a bit of back and forth but the outcome was guaranteed. Joy.

We put our beloved Dad in laws house up for sale through the auction House... We were a little concerned as we hadn't done anything like this before. My first contact was Sam who advised all throughout til the house was sold. He was a never ending font of info. No question was too silly he always answered my questions no matter when I sent them. Cannot fault him at all. Everything was seamless we got more than we expected at auction and our fees to the company were very reasonable as sellers. Also liaising with their Solicitors was also a very good experience (ty Amy) . Absolutely would recommend these to anyone. Tysm for helping this family through a tough time when we were at a loss. We appreciate you all..

Having dealt with Auction House North East recently for a property sale and subsequent purchase I would genuinely recommend their reliable, fast, proactive approach to the property market.
Having used many agents and auctioneers in the past these guys know their business inside out and it was good to enjoy the selling process rather than have a frustrating sale on the open market.

Our experience with Auction House North East was extremely stressful and, in our view, deeply misleading.

The property was marketed in a way that strongly implied it was mortgageable, including references to an “8-week completion time for buyers using a mortgage.” Before bidding, we contacted the North East office directly and were told that a mortgage would be possible. However, after we committed to the purchase, no lender was prepared to offer a mortgage on the property. When we raised this, we were told that Auction House had “never said the property was mortgageable.” In our view, the property should have been clearly advertised from the outset as bridging-finance only.

Key documents in the legal pack were outdated and did not adequately reflect the property’s recent transaction history, which led to serious and unexpected funding problems. These issues had to be resolved under extreme time pressure.

Despite the scale of these problems, we were granted only a 2-day extension, far below what would reasonably be expected, placing us under significant financial risk.

We eventually completed only through extraordinary effort from our solicitor and financial adviser, and at substantial additional cost. Auction House North East offered little practical assistance and required an additional £720 for further paperwork, adding to the overall cost and frustration of the process.

The lack of flexibility or meaningful support from Auction House stood in stark contrast to the positive image presented in other reviews.

This was not a smooth or supportive process. Prospective buyers should independently verify mortgageability, carefully review all documentation, and be prepared for complications.

My advice is not to use this auction house at all.
I am interested in a property they are selling or are supposed to be selling at auction and they have refused me the right to view the property saying they do not have a key to the communal door(how did they produce the photographs?). I said that if the communal door was a problem could I have an accompanied visit, but they assured me that they didnt have a key. The solicitor I spoke to said I should be entitled to view. It should have been indicated in the Legal Pack if there was no viewing.
I asked if anybody had been able to view it and was told that one person tried but couldn’t gain access.
There is something wrong with this auction lot that nobody is being told. It raises questions from me that maybe there is something is going on behind the scenes, whatever it is it smells bad.
The first time I phoned I was actually told on the phone that if I didnt like the conditions of not viewing the property then I shouldn’t bid. However, both the blurb and the Legal Pack stated that I should view the property.
Are they actually wanting to auction this property or wanting to keep potential bidders away?
Just don’t trust them. Would you?

After a sale fell through we made the decision to sell at auction . We found the process so easy and with the helpful staff especially Roxanna who was always quick to reply and helped with everything .

Initially we had no complaints. All communication was helpful & polite. However, unfortunately we were persuaded to settle out of auction due to been informed that there was only one person that had registered for the legal pack related to our property & so they wanted to give us an offer prior to the auction taking place. Due to this information about lack of interest, we agreed to the sale under the belief that this person would have been checked prior when they requested the legal pack, to ensure they had the necessary funds available to purchase our property & be able to complete in the timeframe we were promised.

We are now 7 weeks later & on our 4th agreed completion date with the buyer! This has been due to a change of solicitor by the buyer the day before the first completion date. We then had to agree a third completion date when the buyer reported they were still awaiting their mortgage agreement on the second completion date. The latest delay has been caused by the disclosure that the potential buyer is actually awaiting a bridging loan agreement!

We are very dissatisfied that this buyer obviously did not go through the checks we were led to believe the auction house would preform. As a result it as caused my elderly mother & I further unnecessary stress.

I found the staff at Auction House very helpful in the sale of my property, Steve Tomlinson seemed to understand my situation and was a big help in ensuring the sale.

From the moment I spoke with the great people at auction house I knew I was going to be looked after and kept in the loop throughout the process
