Shared ownership

In shared ownership property generally all fine but I can never get hold of anyone ... Emails never returned, calls never answered, then passed from pillar to post when or if finally get through to someone.. on the rare occasion.
Unless it is regarding a sale nobody can answer any enquiries?

Seek legal advice & keep yourself & family safe!

Appalling support & services provided from this housing association. I have suffered countless ongoing repairs in what is supposed to be a ‘HOME’ and a safe place to live and be provided a service.

Repairs carried out on numerous occasions with the contractors not following health & safety requirements, lack of respect while attending & jobs that do finally get booked are done automatically by a system when it’s not convenient (even on plenty of occasions I have stated the availability however they do not care. Surveys carried out on behalf of other companies but then due to a lack of communication between them & staff always on leave (holidays) this prevents a service & a safe liveable building for families. Constant replacements of items / furnishings when which leaves myself out of pocket & in financial difficulty & this has been a reoccurring thing.

The disruption & impact it has on lives is so sad not to mention incidents of Anti social behaviour & not feeling safe in your own home.
Which leads to more ongoing stress on top of dealing with trying to build a home for ourselves because this is not achieved by ASTER themselves. Prior to renting their properties which leads myself & other tenants to pick up the pieces & live a NIGHTMARE!

I have actually been left with no choice but to refuse any further works / repairs which pay rent for (for a service) due to it attracting another resident on the day trying to get the housing officers number & have had incidents with this person with I have had to report to the police for mine & my sons safety.

I have been told that I will be in breach of my tenancy (however under circumstances like myself & previous experiences i have endured unless it is a legal requirement (A GAS or ELECTRIC check you are within your right to refuse)!!!!

Lack of support provided and descent homes for people to live normal happy lives.

Just don’t do it

Just don’t do it , run a mile don’t buy a persimmons home my whole roof is leaking for a long time been getting small jobs done for 2 years . I know Blackmore vale give guys marsh prisoners jobs in the community they should have skilled workman building houses . The whole insulation is wet / damp mouldy . You report to aster no one ever available . No flu in the heating system for months all the condensation went into the unit ..this was when first moved in . 😂

Out of pocket and a living nightmare

Our shared ownership has left us out of pocket and been a nightmare. We purchased a 40% share in our dream home and its turned into a nightmare. We read lots of bad reviews but were taken in by the glossy sales tactics. Since moving in our service charge has nearly doubled. We’re had issues with drains that still haven’t been properly resolved, and electrics go off when we turn our bathroom fan on. We thought these were glitches, but our neighbours have had similar experiences. Now for the nightmare. When we first moved the estate was lovely, but two month ago a family moved into the social housing and been nothing but trouble. We’ve had our car scratched, they park in our space, our daughter is afraid to play out and they stay out late in their garden and we cant sleep with the windows open. Aster response is that they can’t take any action as it’s another housing association. We now wished we have brought a property outright where we can guarantee our neighbours and not have to put up with excuses about poor quality development. Steer clear of aster homes.

My experience is not much dissimilar…

My experience is not much dissimilar from the person below, is she/he living in the same development!

I moved into my property with high hopes, but my experience with Aster Group has been nothing short of disappointing and distressing. Since I moved in at the end of November, I’ve been dealing with an upstairs neighbour whose behaviour has included excessive noise, as well as one occasion of aggression and threats, which I was forced to report to the police. Despite this, the housing association has been unresponsive and ineffective in resolving the situation.

I’ve contacted my housing officer multiple times, but on the last occasion, he didn’t even remember who I was or the details of my case. The lack of support or follow-through has left me feeling unsupported and helpless.

The block itself is full of young families with children, and while I understand that children can be noisy, the level of disruption caused by my upstairs neighbour is beyond reasonable. As a middle-aged woman, I feel increasingly uncomfortable in this environment.

I’ve also been passed back and forth between the housing association and the local council, with neither offering any concrete help or solutions. My mental health is suffering as a result, and my depression, which I had been managing, is resurfacing. Even more concerning is the impact this is having on my son, who is mildly autistic. He is now terrified to leave the house and is becoming increasingly upset by the ongoing situation.

I feel trapped and helpless, and after just a few months, I am desperately requesting to be moved to a safer and more supportive environment which they just will not allow. This has been an incredibly difficult experience for both me and my child, and I strongly advise others to consider all options before renting from this housing association.

Aster doesn't care!!

They are an awful housing association to rent from as they only care about money and not tenants at all. What's the point in having tenancy agreements and rules if people clearly don't have to follow them and get away with it as Aster doesn't investigate or even attempt to look into anything. We got neighbours who haven't got underlay with carpet above us that stomp around and slam doors, making so much noise late at night despite everyone being told underlay and carpet was not an option and must be put down. They put things up on the wall despite us all being told it's a new build and we couldn't for the first year. These neighbours above us have caused us issues for months with verbal abuse at our front door, blaming us for things we didn't do at out door or via messages, making false police reports of child abuse which is malicious and wasting police time. They have fly tipped baby stuff in the bike shed and tires outside the building which was photographed in a letter sent to all neighbours. They park their car in whatever spot they like despite all neighbours having a numbered specific spot to park. They have lied about us to other neighbours to make them hate us and generally made us feel unwelcome, unwanted and unsafe in our building. We reported the issues to the police and they said they would try to help but wouldn't be able to much but said that Aster should be doing more to help us and investigate them. We love out place but hate living here because of issues with neighbours that Aster doesn't care to help with or resolve. We gave evidence to Aster to prove some of the behaviour towards us and it still wasn't enough so we get treated poorly by neighbours that have a personal disliking towards us even though we have been nothing but nice and helpful and we have done nothing to deserve the issues we receive. Aster just doesn't care and does nothing about poorly behaving tenants that treat other tenants badly and can't follow their tenancy agreement or rules set in and around the building. If we had the money to just move we would but we don't so now we feel trapped in our building and home. We have to avoid the neighbours causing us issues and hope they will leave us alone as Aster couldn't care less. Shame on Aster!!!

Hi.just left my 94yr old mother who was…

Hi.just left my 94yr old mother who was in distress because her hot kitchen lever tap would not stop trickling water even tho it was in the off position.as she cant stand for too long off her walker she cant stand too long at the sink.i was concerned that if she uses the hot water and has an accident.she could scolding herself.i got it touch with aster and was told they could not get anyone out till the 20th of jan.disgusting and disgraceful aster.you ought to be ashamed of yourselfs treating a 94yr like this.2 wk wait.if theres any damaged to your property.then thats on you.

I have just been and visited a elderly…

I have just been and visited a elderly lady in my street she is suffering constant abuse noise and intimidating behaviour from her neighbours who think she makes noise and her floors are shaking these people can't be approached by her because of their attitude yet Aster do not address this problem with passing the buck to everyone to off set coming to their responsibility ASBO non existing independent living officer non existent phone up either off sick or annual leave this is the biggest non existent backbone useless mob I have ever come across this doesn't help a frail elderly lady who all her life has done no harm to anyone who can't rest or get help from ASTER who never reply

Breeding ground for resentment.

We neighboured an Aster property for over twenty years. We experienced nastiness. Aster's response was evasive and scandalous. Ultimately, for us, the only solution was relocation. As a private owner, there are no agencies who will fight your corner. With the benefit of hindsight, I would never trust Aster at any level.

Electrtrics inspection

Electrian James came out put a new light fitting at bottom of my stairs and bathroom was a days work as he had to put new cable in downstairs ...what a nice man went above and beyond to help and was really nice and friendly ...so pleased with all what he done thankyou James can't praise you enough

Unprofessional company

Where do I start ? such an unprofessional company they have never given my family support and they have the time to answer calls and emails when it’s to do with money and rent but never available when there’s a problem or emergency I will definitely not ever recommend this company I’ve lived there 5 months and have had nothing but trouble and can’t even feel safe in my own home !!!

Avoid at all times

What went wrong? Well everything! Awful communication especially very abrupt and no care about tenants feelings or understanding they have difficulties in life. All they want is money, money and more money. No support! My housing officer is never in and when any problems are reported they do nothing but charge the whole building instead of investigating. Can never feel relaxed at home due to constantly nagged for other peoples problems that they cause or the fact all they want is all your money no matter the circumstances.

Utterly inept customer service

About three weeks ago I received an email from Aster Group about a property visit which was clearly intended for someone else with a similar name (I've never had any dealings with Aster). This other person must have supplied an incorrect email address, or Aster themselves had got it wrong.

I immediately contacted Aster via their website to let them know that their customer wouldn't have got their email, and provided their name and the job number quoted. They replied apologetically and said they'd address the issue.

Since then, I've had four more emails misaddressed in exactly the same way, including two regarding appointment dates scheduled for the next day and the same day. Despite two further emails and a phone call from me explaining the situation, the emails are still coming. Utterly hopeless. I've done my best, and from now on I'm binning anything they send me.

In response to Aster's response, 5/11/2024: -
'We would like to investigate this further and resolve this promptly.' Well, you had your chances. I first notified you via your website on 18th October, the day the first email arrived, providing all the necessary details, which you acknowledged via email on the same day. I used that email to reply, letting you know that I'd received the second misdirected email when it arrived, on 29th October, and you again acknowledged receiving it on the same day. When the third one arrived yesterday, I phoned your Customer Support just after 3 pm in a final effort to let you know that your customer wasn't getting your messages because they were coming to me instead.

'Can you please contact us by completing our enquiry form on our website or calling us on 0333 400 8222.' That'd be a 'No' - I've already done both things, providing all the necessary details (customer's name and your job reference number) each time.

'We can then pass this to our relevant team and ask they contact you.' For the love of God, WHY?! Don't you think you've already contacted me enough?! I don't NEED you to contact me; I'm not your customer, and there is nothing you can do for me other than STOP sending me this other person's emails!

If i could leave 0 stars i would.this company is all about profit and not customer focused.i have a shared ownership property,with fees of £200 per month.just had a bill for £1000.00 to paint internal walls .it worked out to £700 to paint 1 wall and banister, £170 was also added for admin fee.
avoid synergy/aster shared ownership ,they will bleed you dry

Sick to death of complaining to this…

Sick to death of complaining to this company!
They dont liaise with one another, read your portal or bother to look at the history.
Ive just been informed by “Melissa” that bricklayers cannot do repointing/mortar. Honestly need to train their staff better!!
Ive been an escalated complaint with them on multiple occasions due to the incompetency of advisors and call centre staff.
Its highly frustrating having to explain yourself over & over. And even more embarrassing when your actually teaching them things!!!
If your role is a repair scheduler.. DO BETTER!

Nearly 3 years of this hell.
Its hasnt changed and it probably wont at this point.

Only positive thing i could say is there is a wonderful lady called Sarah who works there. Normally have crossed paths when booking larger works and she is so helpful and actually listens!

Please issue your independent living officers body cams

Please issue your independent living officers with body cams to stop them acting however they please when they visit your customers properties.It is unacceptable for Aster to employ staff who have zero people skills who visit customers homes and insult and belittle them when the staff have no idea what the customer has achieved in their lifetime.I myself do not and will not allow your staff back into my home after I have been treated disrespectfully by them.

ALL PROFIT AND DONT CARE

I live in a 1 bed assisted living accommodation, and have just become a foster carer for my great nephew who has the bedroom and I'm living sleeping and eating in the living room my bed is a recliner chair I aswell as social services have asked for a move IF POSSIBLE to a more suitable property, have not heard or seen housing officer around here for a few months,I'm on homefinder somerset due to lacking a bedroom that was in January but still not moved so now this is why I'm writing on here so they can see what I've been trying to talk to them about
CAN I PLESE BE CONTACTED REGARDING THE ISSUE/DILEMMA I AM IN
My contact telephone number has not changed or at least have the respect as not only a customer who without your customers you wouldn't have a job

Awful company

Awful company, They never do anything about anti social behaviour. Happy to rent out properties to drug addicts who party night after night with loud music night after night while openly taking drugs.

ASTER A GREAT COMPANY (don't knock them).…

Hi,I am a tenant of Aster living in North Baddesley.
I have had numerous repairs undertaken by Aster,all excellent.
Today i rang about a bunged up guttering .
The receptionist took the call and said I would be contacted soon.Half an hour later received a call from them informing me repairs would be done that afternoon.
The guy turned up and not only cleaned out and hoovered the guttering, but also realigned it.
This is above and beyond service from Asters sub contractors.
How can you expect better service.
Well done Aster. 5 Stars plus.
