Overall a great, smooth house conveyance.
I instructed Askews for buying my first property. Overall the service was great. From instructing to completing was about bang on 3 months, which is the lower end of what I was expecting so I was happy with that.
Communication could have been a little bit better, there were a few times I rang with a question or for an update and the solicitor was busy but receptionist said she would ask her to ring back, but in each case I never got a call back. However, in most cases I did get an email from the solicitor with the information I was after. Personally I'm perfectly happy with communicating via email, but I know some people prefer to speak over the phone.
The only real downside I had was a mishap with the app. 3 days before the set date for exchange I was informared I hadn't verified my ID via a link sent on the app, however the link hadn't been sent. When I looked back at the date I was told it was sent the message was reguarding confirmation to proceed which I'd already done, so it appears the wrong link was sent. This added a bit of stress at a late stage and meant I had to take last minute time off work to get it sorted, but in the end with the help of the solcitor and receptionist we got it sorted without causing any delay. The app wasn't really utilised for much, the intitial information was sent through it, but then everything else was done via email or post, so in hindsight I wouldn't bother with the app. If it wasn't for this it would be a 5 star rating.
In summary, I'm overall very pleased with the service. Aside from the bump with the app it was a relativly quick, smooth and stress free process. I would recommend Askews if you are looking for a House Conveyor, and I will likely use them for finalising my will which I plan to do soon.
