DO NOT BUY!!! It’s a SCAM!

Absolutely a scam company. I hope these knock off Chinese liars get put in jail over the amount of fraud being perpetrated here.

Ordered seeds from them. They shipped them 3 times but they never actually arrive. This process has taken months and months. Demanded they refund my money.They are now attempting to claim they won’t refund my money and also want to charge me for them to reship the never arrived seeds! I will alert my credit card company y of this scam.

Turns out they are not even in the USA resulting in the name of the company being very misleading. Do not order anything from American Seed Store.

I ordered 4 different kinds of grape seeds. It took 6 weeks to get here. Then planted them and took care of the water and soil and waited and waited and waited. Not 1 seed sprouted. When I finally got ahold of them they acted like I didn't know what I was doing. I have had grapes, muscadine, and plenty of other types of vines and plants. They offered about 1/3 of what I paid and would not replace any of the seed. I will not buy anything else from them.

American Seed Store is engaging in deceptive business practices and false advertising on multiple fronts.

First, their website explicitly states that any item can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund—no exceptions are listed. However, when I attempted to return the seeds I ordered, the company responded by falsely claiming that seeds are “perishable goods” and not eligible for return. This was never disclosed at the time of purchase and is not stated anywhere in the posted return policy. I have attached a screenshot of their policy from their website, which clearly confirms this.

Second, their product origin is grossly misrepresented. The company is branded as the “American Seed Store,” giving customers the impression that products are U.S.-grown and sourced domestically. Only after I placed my order and received the product did I discover that the seeds were actually shipped from China—a major concern for anyone trying to avoid imported or unregulated agricultural products.

This company is:

Falsely advertising product origin to appear American-made while sourcing from overseas (China)

Misleading customers by omitting material facts about return exclusions during the purchasing process

Refusing to honor their own posted return policy

Offering only a 20% partial refund instead of accepting a return as clearly promised

Stonewalling communication to delay refund resolution

This feels like a bait-and-switch operation. I would never have purchased had I known the seeds were from China or that the return policy was fictitious.

I have already filed a dispute with my bank, and I am reporting this to the Better Business Bureau and consumer protection agencies. I am also considering legal action due to the multiple layers of misrepresentation.

Desired Outcome:
Full refund issued to my original payment method, along with a return label as required under their advertised refund terms. I am also requesting that this company be investigated for false advertising and deceptive trade practices.

I ordered and paid for 50 Sorceress rose seeds on 11 April 2025. I have yet to receive my order. After numerous email complaints to this 'scam' company, all I receive is a reply saying my order is in transit and to continue to follow my tracking. This has been in transit for 17 days and now says it is being held for a 'required postage assessment' for numerous days.
DO NOT order from this site as it is surely a scam.

They took so long to get here from China that it is too late to start them guys this season. If you are going to use them, order them two months before you need them.

Still waiting for order I placed the 14th of last month. Customer service sucks!! I order 95% of my stuff online , including some items from other countries and have already got all of them. They also refuse to give me a refund for any of my order. I have worked in retail management for 50 years so I know Customer satisfaction and return business is very important to a business. Word of mouth is a very powerful thing.

Back on April 2, I rated my experience with this company a 3 because at the time I wrote the review I hadn’t planted the seeds yet and I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt until I saw the results of the planted seeds. After planting all 14 types of seeds I purchased I can attest that none of the seeds germinated. So my 3 rating is amended to a 1 rating based upon my actual results of the planted seeds.

You can draw your own conclusions from my results.

Absolute scam. I ordered 200 rose seeds after following all instructions from professional rose growers and research I did online I came to the conclusion that I got scammed. 0% germination rate not a single one grew. I’ve been gardening for several years and ordered seeds from other places before and can usually expect a 50 to 65% germination rate. With a name like American seed store I thought I was ordering from an American company. Shame on me. This place is in china. What a joke. Lesson learned.

Well i ordered $39 worth of seeds in APRIL 5th 2025. I've yet to receive my order...customer service claims there is a back order on all the stuff I ordered. Then said they have 3 days to pull the order and 14 to 21 days to ship where in America does it take 14 to 21 days to ship and then sits in customs for 10 days or more..um it's been 35 days and still NOTHING. I'd advise NOT to purchase anything for these scam artist...hopefully my post will stop atleast 5 or more people from being duped as I was...

TOTAL SCAM - as soon as I stated to complaint, immediately they told me that mine items shipped. That was weeks ago.

2 out of 40 seeds sprouted. I ordered vegetables and flowers.
I have contacted them by email twice, and have received no response. I'm out quite a bit of money.

I would give this a 0 if I could. Most of the seeds did not sprout. The ones that did were not the flowers that I purchased. I ordered thumbergia and got morning glory. Purple zinna, 4 grew and they are coral. Pink Hibisbus and I have no idea what is growing but it is definitely not Hibiscus. This is a scam and the seeds are from China, not Canada nor the US. Don't waste your money.

American Seed Store is definitely a HUGE SCAM!!! Do not buy from this company!!! I ordered thousands of wildflowers seeds and after a month, all I received was a snack bag of nothing. Sent them numerous of emails complaints. You can’t reach them by phone either. Spent $112 on purchases of seeds, will never see a refund. Hey American Seed Store 🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼!!!

Not a Canadian company at all - all seeds are sent from China and are actually not seeds - they were dust and dirt and they refused to allow a return. This is a scam!!!
(note, there is an American Seed Co in PA that is actually a seed company - the scam company has stolen their name!)

Everything went wrong with the order. I have not received anything and my emails to them are responded to as if I have ordered tee shirts. I had a feeling and should have looked at reviews before I ordered. Lesson learned. The website is great but I can not plant the website! No flowers! Two thumbs down.

This is NOT an American store ! That is not the real issue. THeir seeds do not germinate, the seeds are sent in small plastic bags identified with a number. The small slip of paper which is to correspond to the numbers on the small plastic bags is inaccurate. How do I get a small bag of medium size seeds for a "seedless" watermelon? I tried to get my money back and they refused. Also, germination was near zero and I am very good at germinating. Lastly, they have fake colors on some of their flowers NEVER buy from this store.

I will not be buying from you any more and i will review so no one else will either. you try to make it look like its in the USA or Canada when in fact everything ships from China. and it takes even longer than you say it does to arrive. terrible business.

Total rip off,,,,scam,,,, has Canada address but shipped from China,,,took a month,,,seeds in unmarked bags and look like crushed weed seeds.
