Namibia to Vic Falls - 16 days overland
Already when searching on line, AOT had one of the broadest scope of alternatives regarding itineraries, type of travel and dates.
Then during the booking process, Michelle's answers were always fast (almost real time!) and friendly, via whatsapp and e-mail, and keeping in touch even after the booking was confirmed, eg. informing about changes in visa requirements.
The local operator was Namibia Experience. The tour (16 days from Namibia to Vic Falls) involves long drives but our guide Sam was great balancing talks and stops. It also helped that we were a small group - 5 tourists + guide.
Lodges were really good and an additional unexpected experience, with wildlife just a few meters away.
This was not my first safari, and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last one.

Overland trip through Namibia
this was an excellent overland trip through Namibia. It was a great itinerary which included a drive along the skeleton coast.
The truck was well equipped and comfortable. We had an excellent guide and driver, both Namibians and very knowledgeable an helpful. there was a choice of accommodation, either camping or staying in lodges. This worked well , all the lodges and their campsites were very good and several nights the campers stayed in the lodge as well, which was nice!
I would recommend this trip as it covered so much of the country. African Overland staff were very helpful and spoke to me on the phone to explain the tour and answer questions. They also arranged something extra for me which was very helpful and worked well. The trip was also good value for money and delivered exactly what was promised!

From start to finish, the service was outstanding, but a very special mention has to go to Chemone, who was simply incredible. When the fuel crisis forced us to cancel our original booking, she went above and beyond to find us an alternative overland tour. Nothing was too much trouble, and her patience, professionalism and determination meant we still had the trip of a lifetime. We loved the personal touches of a video call and feeling like individuals throughout the process!

My wife's Bucket LIst became a reality!
My wife and I had wanted for years to visit Africa and go on safari, but not on a super-structured tour group but rather on a custom-made tour that would adapt to our ages and visit our points of interest. Perfection!
An overland safari had been at the top of my bucket list and it finally became a reality! This trip was everything I thought it would be and much much more! Not only did we see wildlife, but we got a true taste of Africa by traveling along her roads. Even on the bumpiest of roads, the drive was comfortable and our driver was very competent. Since I am a woman and had traveled solo to Africa, safety was paramount as I made the decision to take a SUNWAY safari. Not once was I afraid of anything we encountered! We explored South Africa’s Kruger Park, Zimbabwe’s many wonders (including Victoria Falls and rhinoceros tracking on foot). Botswanas Okavango Delta captivated me with its never ending sea of grasses and curious hippos. The food was amazing and plentiful, there was always clean water available and the tents we stayed in were perfect for listening to the sounds of the African Bush. I’ve only been home for ten days and I’m anxious to go back!

The east coast of South Africa camping…
The east coast of South Africa camping trip had many gems including great wildlife viewing and spectacular landscapes. The meercat experience was highly unique and Tsitsikamma a wild experience. Adding on Madagascar to see the unique wildlife there was awesome. Tammy at African Overland Tours was excellent in making travel arrangements for both trips.

African safari with African Overland Tours
I completed a 25 day overland safari from Zanzibar to Nairobi including trekking with Moutain Gorillas in Uganda and Christmas Day was spent trekking with Chimpanzees. African Overland Tours and specifically my agent Melissa was the person behind organizing all of it. At the beginning I was a little nervous about booking such a big trip with a company I was not familiar with. African Overland Tours did come highly recommeded by a friend so I decided to take a chance. Right from the beginning of booking right up to my last day on the tour Melissa was there for me and any questions I had. She was friendly, helpful, professional and extremely knowledgeable of everything related to Africa and traveling overland. Some times the information provided was overwhelming but she walked me through the process step by step. Once in a Lifetime
We could not have imagined having a better trip. Our Africa Overland tour coordinator, Ingrid Van Wyk, was ever so helpful in providing prepatory information not only about our 20 day Safari trip through South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe but also for our time in Cape Town and surrounding areas, 4 days both before and after our safari trip, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The accommodation and meals were excellent all along the way, yet somehow continued to get even better as we headed northward to Chobe and Victoria Falls.
The changing topography, villages, towns and cities of themselves would have made this a trip worthwhile. The animal sightings only added to our enjoyment.
Our group consisted of Australians, New Zealanders and Canadians, a most compatible combination. One participant set up a What's App site for posting photos and comments and to keep everyone up to date on activities and options.
The walks and hikes to waterfalls, to view fish canyon and to climb the sand dunes only added to our enjoying the trip - even for us as 84 and 89 year old active octogenarians.
Our Kiboko driver and guide, Collen, was amazing. His commentary throughout the journey was interesting and informative. He facilitated many wildlife sighings and explained local customs and traditions. He responded to any concerns we might have had and followed up to ensure all was well.
Our only wish is that as many people as possible should have the opportunity to partake in such an experience.

It takes a lot of moving parts to coordinate a month of travel, from your days bookending the trip in Cape Town to the 20 days crossing through four countries. She wanted to make sure you felt entirely prepared for the journey, and she is so happy to know her advice hit the mark.
To be completely honest, hearing that you were out there tracking wildlife, hiking down to the canyon view, and climbing the sand dunes at 84 and 89 years young is absolutely legendary. You are the ultimate proof that an adventurous spirit has no age limit! It is also fantastic that your international group bonded so well—those shared photo groups are such a special way to keep the journey alive long after returning home.
We are also very grateful for your kind words about Collen. We partner with Kiboko because of their exceptional standards on the ground, and we will gladly ensure their team passes this beautiful tribute along to him. He clearly went out of his way to share the true heart and customs of the region with you.
