REFUND DISGRACE - Breaking Law EU261

Due to the war our flights were cancelled and we were informed to get a refund. That was when it stopped being a positive experience.

They say they comply to European law and process the refund within 7 days.. It is now more than 35 days.. I had to find alternatives that cost much more..

They sent me to my agent and the agent sends me back.. both avoiding and keeping the money on interest deposit..

Luggage destroyed

I am a person that travels approximately 5-8 times per year with different airlines. All these years, I have never had any issue with my personal luggage and once I travelled with the "prestigious" Aegean Airlines, my luggage was broken and because I did not see it in the airport at 22.20 in the night and after a long day, although I made a claim within 7 days from my trip, they are rejecting my claim for reimbursement for the luggage they completely destroyed. So this is what you pay for. For this trip "low cost airlines" charge 1/3 of the price and they deliver your luggage untouched - Aegean charges much more, they destroy your luggage and then you are responsible for it. Thank you Aegean!

You are absolutely unacceptable! We are stranded in the United Arab Emirates and you keep canceling our flights one after another without ANY notification whatsoever! You’ve left us in the middle of nowhere with 4 canceled flights, and when we call your call center, the response is simply “yes, it was canceled.”
No updates via email, SMS, or app, no alternative solutions, no assistance! How do you expect us to trust your company again? 100% disappointment - don’t choose Aegean if you want reliability.

Absolut sämsta tänkbara resa

Absolut sämsta tänkbara resa. Stenhårda stolar, mycket varmt, gick inte att få kall luft.
Dålig organisation vid mat och dryck.
Endast en gång kom dryckesvagn. Maten som vi hade förbeställt var oätlig bara brödet gick att äta . Ingen dryck till maten.

What an excellent airline

What an excellent airline, it puts BA to shame. Just flew back to London Heathrow from Cyprus via Athens. It was a fairly cheap flight even with hold bags added and great flight times.
We were very surprised when food and drink were served on the short flight to Athens, totally unexpected, how scheduled airlines used to be. On the Athen to London leg we had a full meal with drinks and a further snack and drinks, amazing. The service was also great.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with this airline. I was about to board when an assistant denied my boarding, claiming I didn’t have a Schengen entry stamp, even though I had been in the Schengen area for over a month.

Instead of calmly checking, she loudly yelled at me in front of other passengers, mishandled my passport, and spoke to me in an unprofessional and insulting way, even saying I shouldn’t be allowed to set foot in Greece and that I would now have to explain myself to the police.

Minutes later, she found the stamp in my passport, something that could have been avoided if she had taken a moment to look before berating me. By then, I had missed my flight. To make matters worse, the airline did not rebook me on the direct flight I had paid for. Instead, I was given a cheaper, non-direct flight at an inconvenient time, and I ended up arriving home 14 hours late.

THIS COMPANY

THIS COMPANY - NOT PROFESSIONAL AL ALL!!

I RECENTLY TOOK A BUSINESS NUMBER. I CALLED AEGEAN AND GAVE THE NEW NUMBER TO SEND ALL NEW FLIGHTS INFO - BORDING - DELAYS - GATES.

IS 2:20AM AND I AM HAVING A MORNING COFFEE AT CHANIA AIRPORT WERE I CAME FOR A FEW DAYS VACATION.

WHY?

BECAUSE FOR THE SECOND TIME. 2 TIMES I FLIGHTED WITH AEGEAN AND NEVER AGAIN - I USE THIS COMPANY SINCE CHILD, THERE “SYSTEM” CONTINUED SENDING THE SO IMPORTANT NOTIFICATIONS TO THE WRONG NUMBER!

PS: I EVEN CALLED THEM WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO LOSE THE FLIGHT FROM CYPRUS THAT I WAS THERE LAST WEEK.

I ARRIVED AT THE GAME IN TIME.

THEY ONLY TOLD ME THAT I CANT STAT AT THE GATE AND THEY HAVE TO “ GUIDE” ME OUT BECAUSE THE NEXT FLIGHT WAS AT 6:00 AM

I DONT THINK THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE TO ADD TO THS REVIEW.

Aegean cancelled part of my flight…

Aegean cancelled part of my flight Itinery and I received no compensation for it. Additionally, as I had booked my flights through Expedia, no one would take accountability -- both just saying, contact the other. The Expedia online chat service was appalling.... I must have had 20 messages with them and every time I looked for hrlp, they would say that the could not find my booking and would force me to re-start the thread all over again. Dreadful experience.

E tickets Athens-Mytilene

We had tickets for Athens-Mytilene. I had checked on line for the 7:00 am flight for my 4 friends and I.
Upon Arrival to the airport we were told checking had closed!!! We had no baggage to check in and there was still more than 45 minutes to departure. Aegean made no effort to accommodate us! They put us on the next flight which was 3:30 pm which meant we had to hang out at the airport for almost eight hours! And if that is not enough, they charged us another €350! Totally unfair! I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior to a customer and I have traveled a lot in my life. Aegean truly ruined our vacation this time.

Awful It’s now just Ryanair

Awful It’s now just Ryanair, very uncomfortable, can’t fit three people in a row. Extra leg room on the a320 neo is non existent so don’t pay extra. Get an idle seat so you can lean out. They purposely allocate you a middle so you have to pay to select. EasyJet are marginally better now.

Awful Experience with Aegean Airlines – Compensation Practically Worthless
Our experience with Aegean Airlines has been extremely disappointing, primarily due to continuous flight delays and a compensation process that feels deceptive rather than fair.

After enduring a delayed flight, we received a compensation ticket that, according to Aegean’s terms, entitles us to a confirmed seat—subject to availability. However, our attempts to actually use this ticket have proven that its usability is more theoretical than real.

Since August 2024, we have repeatedly tried to redeem this ticket on various dates, without success. Strangely, Aegean’s own booking system showed available seats for purchase on those very same dates, contradicting the claims of their representatives. This raises serious doubts about the transparency of the process.

A particularly alarming discovery was when an Aegean representative informed us that the only available date for using the compensation ticket in March and April was 31/03. Yet, when we checked, the price for a regular ticket on that date was just €36. Meanwhile, when using the “free” ticket and adding taxes, the actual value of Aegean’s compensation amounted to only €6.

Even more concerning, the representative admitted that the availability of compensation seats is entirely at Aegean’s discretion—meaning that some flights have zero free seats, while others are arbitrarily limited to just two. This is a serious violation of the fundamental principle of fair compensation.

As loyal customers who have already spent over €4,000 on Aegean flights for 2024-2025, it is unacceptable that we are given a compensation ticket that is practically unusable.

The delay of our original flight severely impacted our schedule, leaving us exhausted and struggling at work the next day. Compensation that cannot actually be used is equivalent to no compensation at all. This experience has seriously damaged our trust in Aegean Airlines, and we strongly urge them to reconsider their approach to customer service and fairness.

Customer service and website are a JOKE

I recently requested a password reset due to login failing - why does the password reset THIS OFTEN? After successfully resetting, the system repeatedly refreshed, ultimately locking me out of my 14 year old account. Great.

Now the ONLY available customer support channel is a phone call. As I live in Sweden, international calling costs are a significant barrier to resolving this issue. An issue caused by Aegean.

In 2025, I expect a company like Aegean to offer alternative support channels, such as email or online chat. This is RIDICULOUS.

Like a bad Xmas sale…..

Boarding the flight in Berlin was like a really bad Xmas sale. Everyone pushing and throwing their bags all over the place, my neighbour got a bag sports bag in her face.
Aegean was really good years ago.
Now, they gone really low cost and are just utter rubbish.
The only difference between Ryanair and Aegean is that you get a free drink with Aegean.

When things go wrong.....

I've just had a fantastic experience with Aegean. I had a cancelled flight and they reached out by sending me an email indicating that I might be entitled to compensation attaching the relevant form. Less than 24 hours later the claim was agreed and settled. As a goodwill gesture they also gave a voucher for a free flight. Hotel accomodation was also arranged by the airline. I've heard of other airlines trying to wriggle out of paying compensation but when things really go wrong you find find kind of company you're flying with.

Wundervoll

Wundervoll. Die Gepäckaufgabe ging schnell und problemlos. Der Flug war sehr angenehm. Der Service in einwandfrei. Alle Passagiere bekämen sogar einen Snack und ein kostenloses Getränk. Das einzige was zu bemängeln wäre ist, dass bei uns der online check in nicht ging, aber ich weiß nicht in die Airline dafür etwas kann, daher trotzdem 5 Sterne.

Arrogant and uncaring

Flown Aegean many, many times over the years. Too many to count. I’ve noticed recently the staff - especially the flight crews - have been less friendly and far more arrogant. Quality has definitely declined.

Forget converting your Aegean Airlines Miles+More fflyer points to EKO fuel vouchers...total failure!
Even EKO service stations do not care nor want to participate. I just get a stupid automated generic response from an airline that once was the greatest! Now it has gone the same way as other mediocre airlines. SHAME! KRIMA!

They lose and/or kill your cat or any…

They lose and/or kill your cat or any other kind of pet if you fly with them, mishandle them, mishandle your luggage, lose your luggage, scam you into paying more money for your carry on luggage, employees are horrible, will scam you, deny boarding for made up reasons and of their own volition. Do not fly with them. Do not trust them with your luggage, nor pets. Highly recommend steering clear of this "company". They also do not take accountability for anything and the customer service is non existent. Justice for Monty, the cat they killed, justice for Rodri, the blind cat they lost, and justice for all the people that had their luggage lost and never returned, or got scammed for their money in any way the employees could think of.
