These people engage in fraudulent business practices. An employee of theirs made promises he shouldn't and engaged in blatant deception. They listened to the tapes of our calls and promised a refund in writing. I've been waiting for over three years and they keep making excuses. They need to be put out of business.

£4,200 Unauthorised Withdrawals, 15 Months On and Still Unresolved
I do not like giving negative reviews and have held off doing so for a long time, hoping that Actuate would resolve this matter. Unfortunately, they have left me with no choice.
Since June 2024, Actuate has taken more than £4,200 from my account through multiple unauthorised drawdowns. I was repeatedly told that these withdrawals were the result of a "computer system glitch". Despite notifying the company on numerous occasions, the withdrawals continued. The issue only stopped after I cancelled my bank card.
What makes this particularly concerning is that Actuate positions itself as an organisation advising on boardroom behaviour, business ethics and corporate responsibility. Based on my experience, the company's own conduct falls far short of the standards it promotes.
Most concerning is that, despite Actuate acknowledging the mistake, agreeing the amount due, providing repeated written commitments through its CFO, and more than 15 months having elapsed since the issue was first reported, the matter remains unresolved. Each promise of repayment was followed by further delays, and on several occasions only a small amount was paid before communication ceased again. This pattern repeated itself despite my legal representatives being involved.
I made every reasonable effort to resolve the matter amicably and gave Actuate ample opportunity to correct the situation. Unfortunately, after more than a year of delays, excuses and unfulfilled commitments, I have now had to instruct my lawyers to commence legal proceedings.
Businesses can make mistakes. What matters is how they respond when those mistakes are identified. In my experience, Actuate failed to take responsibility, failed to honour repeated commitments, and failed to resolve a matter that should have been straightforward.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend doing business with Actuate and would urge others to exercise caution.

Just completed my ILM Level 7…
I have just completed my ILM Level 7 with Actuate, having started in Dec 2023. It was a tough course to complete, but I guess it's supposed to be at this level. The majority of the course is independent study, so do be prepared for that. The classroom-based sessions were good, and Actuate took on suggestions for improvements when we hit some snags. The ongoing support from Gwyn Thomas was outstanding. He was supportive (especially at 8am on the Tuesday Task support sessions) and he helped me see the wood for the trees when completing my tasks. Also the support team (especially Nicole Malkin) were responsive, helpful and often worked outside of office hours to respond to my queries.

NED course is well run and CV writing is excellent
Doing the NED course and really impressed with Actuate so far. The first 4 modules were interesting and led by highly experienced experts in their field. The onboarding and 1:1 support has been great and Nadia did a very good job of drafting my NED CV and she is clearly very experienced.
