Before my filing window opened they also sent regular check ins to make sure I understood the timeline. In the end I saved $1,437 in taxes and another $815 on insurance. I've used Abode for the last 2 years and have saved $800-$900 both years. The process is super easy! They need very little information upfront and then take care of everything from there. Firstly, we reduced the value of your apartment by $33,187, which saved you $664 this year. On our flat fee plan of $99, you're netting $565 back in your pocket. Of all the tens of thousands of appeals filed in your county, the size of your tax reduction places you solidly in the 86th percentile. By this I mean that only 14% of people in your county will see a bigger reduction than you this year; the rest will save less money or save no money at all.
Second, your appeal was filed and protested by one of Texas's best property tax experts. She holds a rare "Senior" Property Tax Consultant license, an MBA, and has won thousands of appeals over her 20 year career. Finally, it's important to remember that the final verdict is entirely out of our control. We make our case to the appraisal review board, and hearings are not an apolitical process. Abode provides property tax protest support and they do this at a significant discount compared t other local and nationwide providers (like fivestone, ownwell) I was skeptical as their $99 flat fee is unbelieveble. Other firms charge between 35% to 55% of what they save you, which can be in over $1K or more. They did a great job on 2 properties they represented me for and saved me a lot of money.
