We visited today at the Leek Rd Hanley store. Our experience was second to none by Jonathan, he was very knowledgeable and was more than happy to assist myself and my husband.
A credit to Ableworld.

My parents have used Ableworld on numerous occasions to purchase equipment to make my farther’s life easier as his health declined. This included a mechanical chair, bed and numerous other items.
On two occasions now, I have found Ableworld staff to be unhelpful and unsympathetic towards my parents.
As my father’s health deteriorated and he became less mobile. The time came to purchase a wheelchair or motorised scooter.
My father was a proud man and it took some convincing on my part that he needed one of these items to make life easier for himself and my mother.
We headed to Ableworld on Leek road to see what was on offer.
I firstly asked the assistant who helped us about wheelchairs, at first she was quite helpful. We tried a couple of chairs in different sizes at various price levels.
When we found one that seemed appropriate and that my father was comfortable in, I asked the assistant if she could put the foot rests on the chair for my father to try as he sometimes had difficulty lifting his legs.
At this point, she actually asked us, if we were serious about buying the chair, as the foot rests could be difficult to fix and she didn’t want to do it, if we weren’t serious about purchasing.
Personally, I wanted to leave then and there. However, I knew I wouldn’t then get my father into another shop after the experience here. We left after I convinced him to buy a motorised scooter at the cost of £900.00. I told him to forget the wheelchair.
A few weeks previously, whilst my father was in hospital, my mum had purchased a mechanical bed in anticipation of his return home. The bed was installed downstairs as my dad could no longer manage the stairs. She paid for the bed to be installed and was told, as part of the service, if she wanted the bed moved to another room at anytime. This could be done at a cost of £20.00.
Unfortunately, my dad’s health deteriorated very quickly and he passed away a few weeks after the purchase of the bed and scooter.
My mother telephoned Ableworld to request the bed be moved to another room in the house, she explained my dad had passed away within a month of the purchase. The price had now escalated to £70.00. She became extremely upset and asked why she had been told it would be £20.00 and now they were demanding £70.00.
I told her to hang up the phone and I would move it myself.
In my opinion this particular branch of Ableworld, are focused on sales targets, not the individual people, who through no fault of their own, need a little help, understanding and time.
Absolute shame on you Ableworld.

We had a brilliant service at Stoke on Trent Ableworld
We went in to look for a chair for my elderly mother, we were able to look and try most of the chairs out and was not put under any pressure to buy. Dawn the manager was very helpful and made my mum feel at ease when trying the chairs out for size.
We eventually found one that suited her , and bought it.
They helped us put it in our car and we took it home the same day.
Dawn was a great help and we couldn't fault her in anyway , she is a great asset to the shop.

I took my parents to the Hanley branch of Ableworld in order to view and try motorised wheelchairs. Sales Assistant Jonathan was extremely helpful, he listened to our needs and advised us on potential solutions, whilst also focusing on giving my parents some of their independence back. He is knowledgeable and informative, answering all questions satisfactorily. We spent almost 2 hours viewing and trying different equipment and at no point did I feel we were under pressure to make a decision to buy. Having said that my parents made their choices and purchased what they wanted. I felt that Jonathan explained everything we needed to know in store and he also ensured we knew how to get back in touch if we needed further help. Highly recommend a visit to this branch of Ableworld to anyone looking for help to live independently in the Stoke on Trent area.

Very friendly helpful staff especially Dawn. We were looking for a boot scooter. The store was extremely busy with only 2 staff. Dawn was patient didn't rush us into a decision. Allowed my mum to try all the scooters while also dealing with 5 other customers. Bubbly, cheerful staff. We came away with the scooter. Dawn deserves a pay rise.

What a joy to go into a shop where the staff actually ooze enthusiasm for what they do.
I was after a specific walker for my father that unfortunately was not in stock.
Charlene couldn't possibly be more helpful in locating one from another branch which was available the next day. Excellent service thank you.

A big thank you to the very helpful Jonathan. We were looking for a mobility scooter for my wife who has chronic back pain. From entering the store with a very polite greeting from a female colleague of Jonathans to the very courteous and helpful experience with Jonathan the whole process was very enjoyable. nothing was forced on to us and all our needs were listened to and taken on board. My wife was not to keen on the idea at first but due to health issues it is something she needs and with Jonathans help and guidance she is now happy and confidant enough to use her new scooter. He listened and understood and seemed to be very knowledgeable of all products, he was confident and understanding but not hard selling. All the staff we met are a credit to both the company and the industry they represent. we would have no issues with going back to them if needed in the future and would defiantly recommend to any one looking for anything to do with mobility use this company. you will not go far wrong.

Tried to scam my elderly parents out of £750 for a part on there stair lift they did not need.
Able world in Stoke sent there engineer out after the stair lift started struggling to climb the stairs, Everything pointed to the batteries failing the engineer replaced the battery's which he said made no difference so he swapped them back and said to replace them would be pointless then diagnosed it needed a gearbox at £750.
My father run this past me and I was sceptical with the diagnosis so I ordered new batterys myself and replaced them which fixed the problem immediately.
I am of the opinion that he deliberately deceived my father for financial gain they also charged him £80 for the call-out.

Supported my elderly mother in visiting the Hanley store - looking to invest in a walker and strolley trolley. We received excellent/friendly support and advice from all the staff, in particular, from Jonathan. He patiently availed us of the relevant product choices, endeavouring to find the most suitable equipment for my mother's needs. His empathy and understanding of her situation was brilliant. I am pleased to say we eventually found the best equipment and my mother went home feeling good about her experience in the Hanley store. Access to the store is very easy.

Fantastic experience at the Stoke on Trent branch . Chair ordered then delivered the next day .We were served by Jonathan who took the time to demonstrate many chairs to us . Really very pleased.

Just purchased a mobility scooter from Ableworld Hanley, Stoke on Trent and am more than happy with the whole experience
The lady (Helen) who served us was so knowledgeable and answered all the queries and reservations we had
Her demonstration was brilliant we hadn’t got not much idea with regards to mobility scooters but feel that Helen certainly matched us to the best one for our requirements
Helen was so friendly, made us feel at ease and we would certainly recommend Ableworld to our friends and family

I went into the store today with little to no idea what I wanted or even needed beyond the very vague description of "chair" as I've been told that I can't rely on crutches anymore due to my increasingly frequent falls.
Charline was the one who led me through the decision making process and she did it with so much grace and compassion. There was no upselling or rushing. Just facts and advice. I was talked *with* rather than talked over or talked down to. Healthcare workers could learn a thing or two from the employees of this store.
I was given the opportunity to try the desired product for as long as I needed to and Charline explored all the alternatives with me as well as supporting products that I asked about. Couldn't help but notice that the store has quite a large variety of products on offer and at very fair, competitive prices. Will be switching to buying my medical supplies from here.
After making my purchase and rolling off into the proverbial sunset my pre-booked taxi suddenly cancelled on me and I was struggling to get another on such short notice. The wonderful people of this store saw me sitting outside looking a bit lost and not only asked me if I'm okay but after I explained my predicament they helped arrange for alternative transport, made me coffee, and chatted with me while I was waiting. I'm immensely grateful for the kindness and hospitality.
Thank you everyone who was with me today and I'm looking forward to visiting in person again!

We took Mom in to look at the boot scooters. Dawn served us and nothing was too much trouble. She knew the products inside out and answered any questions with confidence and solid product knowledge. She fully explained and demonstrated the ease of putting the scooter into the car and had us complete the process too. The checkout process was quick and she explained the insurance and guarantee on the product we purchased. Very satisfied customer.
