Most of my albums are fine. I paid 6.99 each for 2 Y&R Mookey albums that were so sensored I could barely hear the songs. They refuse to refund my 14 dollars and that is very bad business in my eyes. Edit: they agreed to give me a credit so all is well.
Listen to the samples first to make sure it is what you want.

"Buyer beware" is the phrase to think about when purchasing from 7digital. They basically sell only FLAC albums that are just transcoded MP3. That means you're using a compressed file as the base. Then they don't tell you that iTunes doesn't recognize FLAC so it would have to be transcoded again. Plus you can't use this on an iPhone unless you change it from FLAC. The download time is also fairly long. Yeah, I know I should have checked this out beforehand so it was my $10.99 learning curve mistake. I won't be buying anything from them again and will be telling my friends of my experience so they can make an informed decision.

Pay for music a few months later its dissapeared . They say the have lost the licence to download it . I've paid for it therefore its mine . Shocking service

In sharp decline. I've been a customer for several years, but the last few months suddenly no new releases on the site. Going bust? Suggest avoid.. although you probably can't find anything to buy 😂

I was looking for a new place to purchase songs and did a google search, one of the top 10 was for 7digital. So I signed up and wondered why I did. I am a DJ and looking for the top 40. 7digital had none of the top 40 that I could download/purchase as it came up with an error. Back to Amazon!

Like many other reviews here have observed, the catalogue is paltry. If you heard a song somewhere and want to purchase it, whatever it is, whatever genre, odds are 7Digital doesn't have it.
This is unfortunate, because I don't like being funneled to mega-corporations like Apple or Amazon, but 7Digital seems determined not to be competitive and shows no interest in meeting consumer demand.

I have always used 7Digital because they had such a huge catalogue. I could get my rare tracks, usually in FLAC, and they were reasonably priced.
Very recently I have noticed that hardly anything that I seek is available. What makes it doubly depressing, is that if you search for a specific track, you'll see it - but when you try to access it, you get Error.

Based on service in NZ, 7Digital is complete garbage.

Their catalogue is tiny, they have next to no high quality content, and their Android app (not updated in 3 years) simply doesn't work.

Don't even bother.

Back in the day I would have recommended 7 Digital, but now their catalogue is slowly disappearing. For example it is no longer possible to find Depeche Mode or Erasure (other than on a handful of compilations) - nothing there and previous purchases are no longer available to download. Luckily I keep my downloads backed up.

While I appreciate that the nature of downloads is that this can happen from time to time due to licensing issues, but this is an awful lot of catalogue to disappear in one go.

I paid for a MP3 album that just did not work. Impossible to unzip... They said they would contact Paypal to have me refunded. No refund after a few months. Contacted them again, they said they would get back to me. After another few months, still nothing. Now they won't even answer my emails... Very unprofessional.

Production company contacted me on behalf of a project they were working on for the BBC.

They completely wasted my time, failed to attend appointments, that I had to book time off work in order to attend.

Avoid.

As others have also said, sometimes your purchased albums will not be able to be downloaded after some time. I doubt that this is legal. To be clear, you don't get a refund when this happens. This behavior is unlike any other online store I've ever seen. In any case, it's not what you would expect from a large company like this. This really needs to be fixed. It defies all expectations of customers.

If you use this website, make backups of your downloaded music on your own storage devices. Just assume it won't be available for download next time you try, because it could be pulled at any time.

On the positive side, it has a reasonably large library and I've been able to find most albums I was looking for. Also, the files are DRM-free, which is what I was looking for - the freedom to copy my music to whatever devices I want, and play it with any program I want. Unlike other music services.

Just remember, you are responsible for keeping your music safe from data loss once you have downloaded it.

Some are True CD Quality and Some are just up sampled MP3 or less than CD quality and both sell under the 16bit CD price. Fraud! They all sell under the same CD banner so you cannot tell until you have purchased if you are getting Real CD Quality less.

Brilliant. Used the website, not the app. No trouble at all. Did everything perfectly and in no time. Lots and lots of music. All safely downloaded. Used this because Amazon would not work for me.
Website was clear (on the New Zealand site) and easy to use. Zipped my songs into MP3 format, opened them in my laptop and sent them to my plugged in device no trouble.
Music is great quality and a reasonable price. It worked for me, and like a previous reviewer I had to write a review to say how great I found it. A very satisfied customer

They only accept payments via PayPal, they don't allow you to use your VPN (which I always use for safety reasons, when I closed my account they told me that "we require your personal data to facilitate the purchase of downloads and report to the music rights holders", I would have appreciated it if they had informed me about that when I created the account. So I take my business elswhere.

I downloaded an mp3 that was defective and company refused to refund me my money. Customer service was also rude as hell, lady had an attitude.

Bought a 24 bit flac album. Windows Media Player will play it but I can't burn it to a CD. Roxio doesn't support the format. So I can't edit file information or convert to other formats for compact use. Seems they may have protected the content. I can copy it but if the player I'm using can't play 24 bit flac then it's useless. Should have bought the CD from my other service (one of the big guys). If I buy the biggest format at the highest price, then why can't I get lower res files also (like other services offer).

So bloody annoying. Track no longer available to download after purchase. How about a refund then.

As others have stated. They are a fraud and sell inferior quality recordings. I just purchased the entire season of WandaVision soundtrack on .flac and it sounds terrible. Do not buy anything from this company, they are a fraud!
