“I’m disputing my final bill From British Gas

“I’m disputing my final bill — no one from customer service is responding. Please contact me to resolve this.”


In the early of this year I had been constantly pushed by British Gas to install a smart meter. In March 2025, after they did it for me I found that they refused to provide half price for night usage which was contradicted with the agreement I signed when the old meter was in use. So I was very disappointed, angry and switched to E.on.

Last week ( after 7 months when I switched) I received British Gas’s final bill which indicates that I have to pay £340 around, the statements are incorrect and very difficult to understand. This makes us very anxious!

Moreover when I called its billing team the phone line is always busy. So I had to send a complaint email. So far nobody contacted me.

Meanwhile we have to prepare £340 for them to deduct from my bank account.

Life is so hard when we chose British Gas as a supplier. I used to call its customer service line, the staff based in South Africa answered the phone and worked actively but never could solve any issues I had by British Gas.

We are still waiting.

Avoid B&Q if you don’t want to have troubles in home decoration

I have bought a basin with cabinet from B&Q and installed in the bathroom. After about one year the skin of cabinet is peeling off. In addition, a button in the lower drawer of the cabinet is also broken. After few months waiting, B&Q customer team started to deal with my issue and forwarded the pictures I provided to their quality team, then the quality team says the cabinet has no quality issue, but the damages were caused by water running into it. Actually, we just use it as every people do. Sometimes there might be a bit of water splashed from basin to it which the cabinet should be designed to prevent it.

Furthermore, A kitchen tap bought from B&Q also has been dripping water all the time. I did read bad customer reviews about it before I bought it. But I didn’t believe it because the tap looked so beautiful in the B&Q store. Silly me!

B&Q seems to have set up few teams to resolve the after-sale problems but they never want to solve them properly. To instead, they just send many emails traveling from one team to another team.

We have a new beautiful bathroom, but now with damaged cabinet. To repair it we have to spend another several hundred pounds to buy new basin, cabinet, tap and pay labourers. Really awful shopping experience!

Here again I would remind all customers to avoid buying anything from B&Q, but if you like to have troubles then you do it!!

Very customer service is getting worse.

Very customer service is getting worse.
I and my daughter tried to place an order for a fridge recently. Because of the website error, we called the customer service team to help. A staff in South Africa took more than 1.5 hours still couldn’t solve the issue, but held me on phone line all the time. Then I made a complaint about this. After few days another staff called me for the complaint. At the moment I was walking on the street and told her please call me back after 20 minutes. She agreed. Since then she never called me back, but sent me an email, saying: “your complaint has been resolved. Your case is closed now”.
Such customer service is ridiculous!!
I’ve bought few things from Very and quite happy before. But now their customer service has been moved to South Africa, where the service team/call centre isn’t qualified to do customer service. I’ll stop buying anything from Very, especially some items need strong customer service support.

Slow and delayed delivery

The plants delivered to me are very small and delayed, and replacement plants have not been delivered yet since 2nd June ( over one month and one week). I have called them many times regarding this replacement but customer service staff always gave me different answers.
