A company that undermines freedom of speech
ZenFEED and its comment moderation service undermine the right to freedom of speech. While claiming that they prevent hate and hate speech, the service removes comments that merely express opinions on a given subject.
Research conducted by Mandarin Media indicates that the leading moderation tool owned by this platform disproportionately moderates profiles that document activists’ activities or present actions that may disrupt social order. Comments under these posts can be controversial, but to a greater extent they simply express opinions on the subject.
Unfortunately, after appropriate configuration, the platform does not allow these opinions to be expressed. This was verified on September 24, 2026, on posts under the profile facebook - konfiturak. Unfortunately, 12 out of 30 comments were removed within 10 days of publication.
These comments did not contain hate speech; they only expressed opinions about the actions of the activist shown in the materials.

Thank you for the feedback. We take the freedom-of-speech concern seriously, so we checked our records for the date you mention, September 24, 2026, on the page in question.
On that day, no account posted anything close to 30 comments. The five most active commenters wrote 44 comments in total (12, 9, 8, 8 and 7), and only 6 of those 44 were moderated. We cannot reproduce the "12 out of 30" figure from our data.
The timeline in this review is also internally inconsistent: a check performed on September 24 cannot show what happened to comments "within 10 days of publication" unless those comments were published well before that date, and we found no such pattern in our data.
ZenFeed does not decide what opinions are allowed. Moderation is configured by the page owner: a toxicity threshold. Hidden comments are not deleted. The page owner can review and restore any of them at any time.
Mandarin, could you please point us to the specific comments that you believe were removed for merely expressing an opinion? A link to the post and the text of each comment would be enough. We will review every case, and we would welcome your input on where the line should be.
Below is a sample of the most toxic comments moderated on that day (author names of private individuals removed), so that readers can judge for themselves whether this is censorship or protection from abuse.
