After spending days trying to organise our family’s Umrah ourselves, I honestly wish we’d found Yuusr sooner.

Like many people, I initially thought booking independently would save money. I had countless browser tabs open comparing flights and hotels, even creating a spreadsheet to work out the cheapest combinations. We couldn’t decide whether to start in Makkah or Madinah, which hotels to choose, how close we wanted to be to the Haram, or how to get everything to line up. It quickly became overwhelming.

A friend mentioned Yuusr after seeing them on Instagram. I’ll admit I was sceptical at first. I assumed using a travel company would simply cost more, and if I wanted an agent I could have found one myself. I only visited their website to get some ideas.

Within minutes, my opinion completely changed.

The booking process was incredibly intuitive. Everything followed a logical flow: Makkah or Madinah first, how many nights in each city, preferred walking distance to the Haram, transport options, visas and more. The website is exceptionally easy to use, especially on a mobile phone.

The biggest surprise? The total package price was actually less than the total I’d calculated myself by booking flights and hotels separately. That made the decision very easy.

Although Yuusr is a relatively new brand, I soon discovered the team behind it has many years of experience organising Hajj and Umrah journeys. They’re also ATOL and ABTA protected, which gave us additional reassurance.

Then came the real test.

Just weeks before we were due to travel, the conflict involving Israel, the US and Iran escalated, causing disruption and flight cancellations across the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia. Naturally, this was an anxious time for our family.

Throughout it all, the Yuusr team were outstanding. They kept us informed with proactive WhatsApp messages and phone calls rather than leaving us wondering what was happening.

Alhamdulillah, we completed our Umrah, but on our return journey our Wizz Air flight from Madinah was cancelled due to the conflict with no clear indication of when flights would resume.

Without us having to chase anyone, Brother Ahmed from Yuusr immediately contacted our hotel and arranged an extra night’s accommodation. When it became clear the flights from Madinah weren’t restarting, he went even further and booked replacement flights home from Jeddah to London using his own funds, telling us he would sort out the reimbursement with Wizz Air himself. That level of service and care is incredibly rare.

It’s difficult to put into words just how grateful my family and I are. Throughout the whole experience, we genuinely felt looked after, especially during what was an uncertain and stressful situation.

Yuusr truly lived up to its name by making the whole journey one of ease.
