We recently rented a car from Zezgo/Right cars/zoom rentals (all are the same company btw, which does NOT match the company who charges you), and have since learned that they have structured their businesses to scam tourists.
They rented us a car that had all sorts of issues, not just on the outside that you could see. The outside had multiple dents, two broken taillights, and severe scratches on the side. I asked about the broken taillights and getting pulled over and he would not give me another car but just said "if you get pulled over call me."
The inside also had a ton of issues: rear view mirrors would not stay in position, lock buttons and window buttons didn't work, it had an aftermarket console that didn't work right, and there were scratches all over the dashboard, almost like claw marks.
While cosmetic issues are one thing, it also had some serious issues with the mechanics of the car. It literally would not make it up the hill to our Airbnb (didn't have enough power even in first gear to make the hill and started slipping backwards in traffic) and had a rattle sound coming from under the car when we picked it up.
When that rattle got worse and turned into a dragging/scraping sound, we contacted them to come and get the car because it didn't seem safe to drive -- they refused and told us we had to drive it back. Then of course they claimed that we ruined the car and claimed it had been hit while we were driving -- which it absolutely had not.
They then charged $1300 to my credit card for which they refuse to provide any paperwork explaining the charges or repairs done. They also refuse to give me the vin of the car, or even the year of the car so that I could look up parts or value of the car independently.
I'm not a certified mechanic, but I've worked on cars my whole life and know quite a bit about auto mechanics. Based on what I saw underneath the car, what happened is that the heat shield (piece of metal between the exhaust system and car) was loose and already damaged when we picked it up. (Which is why it had a rattle to start with) It then suddenly got much worse, making me believe they padded it somehow or poorly secured it back up in a way that would fall off soon so they could charge us for the damage. Then when they made us drive it back, it obviously got much worse because it was dragging the ground the whole time.
They're now ignoring any calls from me or my insurance company, refused to give me any sort of information on the car itself, and are still refusing to provide any documentation about the $1300 charge.

They nickel and dimed me then tried to make ME pay for a tire they planned to keep for their car?! They charged my card for a tire for THEIR car. I caught a flat, they sent someone to put on a spare on....he put on a FLAT spare and told me it was okay to drive to the other side of the island. Thank goodness a security guard at the beach caught me and told me, I was heading DOWN hill. I called to let them know and three hours later the guy arrived with a "new" tire that, get this - needed MORE air. I can't make this stuff up. It was another incident too but Jevon and Jeffrey are THIEVES at SXM - never EVER trust a company who allows such unethical practices. If I had agreed to pay for the tire, it would have been on that flight back home with me. I reported the FRAUD to my credit card company.
Overall great experience. Rental shuttle was waiting on arrival. Smooth pickup and was on my way in no time. Staff were great. Drop off was smooth and shuttle was there for quick drop off at the airport. Only recommendation would be more Zezgo signage to find your drop off.

Car struggled a bit getting up hills but managed.

We were in and out of the car rental place in less than 30 minutes and that was being 3rd in line behind other customers. Friendly, helpful service and cheap!

Great experience. Shuttle from the airport to the garage (5 minutes from the airport). Good service and same car as I rent.

The car was old and dirty, front window glass was cracked, it is not well maintained. I guess with the quality of roads it is not surprising but it was definitely over 15 year old car, not much to choose from.

Simple, basic and cost effective rental…we got a basic Nissan Versa with 82000km…not a new one at all but did the job nicely for our week on the island…we explored the whole island and the car was perfect for our simple needs. Thanks!

Our car was in perfect condition, easy to drive and at a great price for 19 day rental. Pickup and dropoff at the airport was prompt and friendly. The office is just outside the airport. Very satisfied with my experience.

This company is a rip off. The car they gave us was very very old( (over 60,000 miles on it) . Transmission was on its last leg. Air conditioning not working. Fuel gage not working properly. It was all scratched up and missing a rim cover on one tire. And when we returned it they found tiny scratch( that was there before) and want to charge us $258 dollars for it. Most likely they will never fix that scratch, just wash the car and turn it around for next unlucky renter. We have full coverage through Expedia. But they don’t want to go through it. They are itching to charge our credit card.

Everything went well. Shuttle to the renting place was fast. We had no problem with the car. With the low price, we kinda expected a beat up car. Aesthetic wasnt good but the car ran great so we didnt worry about that part

The service was basic at best. We had a late flight that came in at 830 p.m. due to a medical emergency on the flight. I called them earlier that da to let them know. They basically laughed and said we should pay them to stay late. So we had no car the first night. Took a cab at our expense the next day to get the car. We found the place in kind of a back alley almost (not on main strip). They gave us the worst car we’ve ever had on a rental. But the engine worked and it got us from A to B. We had a great vacation though.
