Y1 Hockey and Padel…….. simply just leading the way 👌

This company and its mission are just amazing as are the products and the staff team supporting it all…… can’t commend them high enough if I’m honest. Every query I have had or question has been answered and or managed with such approachable and professional staff it’s just so impressive and customer focused it’s how it should be and better 👌
I do have to mention my last issue which related to a padel racket surface and what I thought was an issue but instantly resolved and a new racket dispatched….. WOW was really taken aback in the best possible way , just such amazing customer care from a company who so clearly values its loyal following and customer base but also has such incredible trust and confidence in the products they produce and market….. just so incredible and refreshing in today’s climate 👌👌

My first stop for anything padel

I have purchased a number of padel items off Y1 but my latest one was a kit bag for storing and carrying my rackets, balls etc. The order process was easy and I was kept informed the whole way from order to delivery, which was quick and in keeping with my previous orders. Thanks Y1 :-)

Great customer service

I recently got in touch with Y1 regarding a stick purchase. The follow up coms with Alexandra were very quick and efficient. The service and delivery were prompt, and my son was playing with his new stick the following weekend. Great service, thanks.

UPDATE: After leaving this review Y1 reached out to me and to be fair to them provided the kind of CS I would have anticipated in the first place for a growing Premium brand. Not only did I receive email responses but also appropriate telephone contact. Within a few days the stick was replaced. I can confirm that the replacement is of significantly better quality than the unit initially bought. My son is now very happy with his replacement.

After only three uses on a water-based hockey pitch, my son’s new Y1 stick has already started to flake and expose the carbon substrate. Y1, who can only be contacted through chat or email, have been indifferent at best. Having recently bought sticks from other brands such as Osaka — all 70–100% carbon — we’ve never experienced issues like this.
Several performance coaches have looked at the stick and all agree it should not be deteriorating in this way. Y1’s customer service has been frustrating and unhelpful, dragging the process out by repeatedly requesting order numbers, photos, and then more photos across separate emails — seemingly to dissuade customers from pursuing a resolution.
Y1 appear more interested in taking money than standing behind their product. If the guarantee only lasts as long as it takes to take the stick out of the bag, we’ll be shopping elsewhere.
If any friends ask for my opinion, I’ll tell them to avoid Y1. Poor product, even worse customer service.

Update: After my previous feedback, George reached out to me. His courteous and helpful nature ensured he gathered all necessary feedback and resolved my issue entirely. It's not uncommon for orders to experience hiccups, but the true measure of a company is in its problem-solving. George at Y1 addressed the situation exceptionally, leading me to happily adjust my rating. This is a prime example from which many businesses could benefit.Delivery times fell short of expectations, with an order taking over three weeks to arrive. Despite the club's choice to use this supplier, the delayed delivery and a missing item—not even listed on the packing slip—were disappointing. Reaching out to customer service proved difficult, with no phone contact available and only a cumbersome online form with mostly irrelevant queries. The company's registered address claims to be in Cheshire, with returns directed to Bristol, a LinkedIn listing in London, and one part of the incomplete order sent from Latvia via airmail. Though the received items were of high quality, they seem overpriced for what they are. Based on experiences and shared feedback from others, I wouldn't recommend this company to any club or organization, as unresolved process issues could deter any potential customer loyalty.

Prototype and Clothing

Recently bought prototype NMF stick and glove (this is my 4th and all have been fantastic!), mystery bundle as well as fleece and a quarter zip. All great quality, service A plus and delivery spot on as well. A company that delivers not just to the professional but to grassroots players. Very approachable and amazing customer service.

Amazing Customer Service & Perfect Products

Y1 Hockey is my Daughters favourite Hockey Brand, The sticks are classed by her as ‘simply perfect’ she really feels at one with the stick.

We have purchased a lot of Y1 equipment and clothing and can honestly say the service and quality of the products are A*

After making a bit of an error myself over a Xmas present I contacted Chris at Y1 to see if I could expect the parcel before the 24th!!!

Chris went out of his way (not an ideal time especially in the holidays!) and looked for the order details and tracking and was 100% honest about my chances of receiving the package - which I respected and thanked him for being honest instead of feeding me **** like some other companies would.

What can I say - the package arrived this morning (24th) and my Daughter is super happy with the clothing which is comfortable and non restrictive.

Once again an experience that will keep us loyal to Y1.

Great Hockey Kit and Top Performing Sticks

I play for Wayfarers hockey club - the process of ordering kit through the Y1 club shop was seamless with reasonable and accurate delivery timelines.

I’ve also just picked up a new prototype stick on Black Friday; can’t wait to test it out.

Easy Design Process and Superb Performance

Y1 have been brilliant to work with over the past few years, they have designed multiple playing kits for our school such as; Netball Dresses, Rugby Tops / Shorts, Hockey, Cricket, Atheltics Vests and Tour Kits.

The design process is allways very easy and very customisable. Which is brilliant when designing multiple kits for School Sports.

The Personalised section on the Website makes it very easy for Parents / Pupils to order, and when a few mistakes have been made they rectify and fix them very quickly and with little hassle.

The wide range of ' in-stock ' colours and kit makes it quick to order and easily printed on which has allowed for some very quick deivery times, overall the quality of the kit has been brilliant and we have built a brilliant partnership over the years with many kits being designed and many more kit designs to come.

Would highly reccomend using them as a kit supplier.

Great Hockey Kit

Comfortable lightweight playing kit. I especially like the shorts, which have been very comfortable and have easily lasted into their 3rd season.

The best

Y1 do everything well. Great sticks and kit, elite customer service, top notch bespoke kit design and plenty more. I have used their kit for many years and these guys are the best for your day to day hockey needs. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Things swiftly put right when they initially went a little wrong

Update:
Following my review below I was contacted by George. He was extremely polite and very helpful. Really keen to get feedback and resolved my issue fully. Occasionally orders don't quite go to plan but how a company deals with it when it happens says a lot - the way George at Y1 has dealt with it has been superb. So I'm more than happy to re-adjust my star rating....many other companies could learn from this company.

Delivery times NOT as advertised. Waited over 3 weeks for an order. Unfortunately had to order from here as this is where a club has decided to use. Order has taken over 3 weeks to get to us and item missing when it arrived and completely missed off the packing label too. Thought I'd contact company - no phone number. No actual address, other that returns address given on website there's a ridiculous 'contact us' form on the website but which only allows you to go through a series of pop-up questions...most of which a irrelevant. The registered company address is in Cheshire, returns address is in Bristol....LinkedIn says they are London.....and one part of our, as yet incomplete, order came via airmail from Latvia! The stuff that arrived did look good, but I do think expensive for what it is. If your club or organisation haven't decided to go with this company, I'd advise them not to (judging by other comments so would others) and I won't be buying from them again. If as a company your processes aren't up to it then regardless of you products you are not going to hold customers.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service. Bought a £180 stock with stain marks on the front. Customer service had no interest in helping with a refund or replacement. Very disappointed considering how much time they are spending promoting to become a market leader. Customers and word of main is the main point to concentrate on guys. Will go back to the bigger manufactures in the future.
Note: 3.12.24 replied to the email below with the details requested on the 28th with no reply so far.
