I stopped using them years ago, no issues. Then this year they started taking payments again. I got in touch with them, they cancelled the direct debit but are refusing to refund me bacause I am unable to provide proof of membership cancelation.
So they are basically thieves. I would avoid.

I attend the Falkirk gym and while the equipment provided is excellent. The amount of users that don’t clean down or put equipment away is shocking. If you don’t mind spending half your workout out putting others weights away it’s a good gym. Staff don’t seem too bothered and social distancing in the past and now is completely non-existent.

BEST GYM and GYM STAFF in East Kilbride. It's shut for refurbishment which means we are all at other gyms. I already new X4L EK, GYM and management team were amazing but wow eye opener, it's 100% best in EK by far. Welcoming, friendly management and staff every time, friendliest and welcoming members (let me tell you the other X4L I am using are not) also how they handled restrictions and cleanliness had been better. I would highly recommend this GYM. Looking forward to seeing Dave and the team and the members when ot re opens.

This company make it impossible for you to leave.
You fill in a cancellation request and it goes nowhere.
They will continue to take money from your bank account no matter how many times you email them.

Terrible customer service.
No phone number to call.
They don't get back to emails.
The gym is fine but they've over charged me (taken more than one DDI in a month) more than once now and still no refund or rectification.

Trying to cancel because their upping the price, and it takes you to a portal which DOES NOT WORK!!

By far the best gym in East Kilbride! Top staff and they are all so fun and friendly. Great environment for everyone .
Even with a return the gym still vibing!! Can’t wait to see it when it’s all done, it Will be epic!!!

This company will rob you! The complaints process is stupid! The guy on reception basically told me I was lying about getting an email raising the price. The manager didn’t seem to give a care when I approached him with it.

To cancel took 4 emails. I received countless calls asking if I wanted to stay. Don’t advertise in big writing on the windows that it’s £9.99 then start charging £14.99 after like 3 months!

Oh and finally the only way to cancel is to cancel the DD otherwise for months they chase you.

Absolutely appalling business. You are forced into a 2 month contract, not the 1 month as advertised, as you're unable to cancel within 14 days of joining but yet have to get 30 days notice. So I called back in November and was told (by two different people) that my account was closed. 7 months later I've been charged twice and because there's no email trail they will not give me a refund. Absolute con artists. This is not how key workers should be treated.

The Falkirk Gym is excellent. Ample, varied equipment and the general facilities are ideal. Always plenty of space to workout. Pricing is unbeatable and at £15 monthly (50p per day), this is easily the best value available anywhere. Location is ultra-convenient and the whole experience is really enjoyable.

I've joined this gym a month ago, but decided to leave due to relocation. I know from their policy that I'm entitled to a refund within a 14 day period, and so I've filled out a cancellation form through their website. Along with that I've sent them a couple of emails to which they say that they'll respond within a 5 day period, but they never did. It's been 2 weeks since I've completed the cancellation form, and I'm still waiting for their response. On top of that they are continuing to charge me for membership, and are suggesting you not to cancel it as a direct debit, as they require a 30 days notice to process cancellation and collect final payment, and cancelling your direct debit will incur a administration fee. Basically they are threatening you with a penalty in order for them to continue to charge you for a cancelled membership.
Horrible experience in general and wouldn't recommend them!

I’ve started work as a PT at the Hamilton gym a month ago. During the interview the manager Donald, have not mentioned anything regarding what will happen if you decide to leave the company. I’ve also paid £125 yearly license which covers my membership and allows me to work at the gym. After working there for 3 weeks I’ve decided to leave, as I’ve realised that it’s not worth it as my expenses outweighed my profits, and also that the job didn’t met my expectations. I’ve given one week notice since on the government website it says that “If you’ve worked at a company for a month you have to give 1 week notice”.
I gave them notice and they’ve banned me from the gym, disabled my membership and threatened that they will call the police if I don’t leave the gym, on top of that they don’t want to refund me my money for the yearly Licence as well as the money from my new membership which I’ve created, since they’ve banned me from the system. They are claiming that that’s their policy, but they’ve never showed me a proof of that policy and are refusing to show.
In general I’ve had a horrible experience with those people, and I wouldn’t recommend you to start work if you’re planning to at this gym, they’re promising you that they can find you clients, and you’re starting work there with the expectations, that the job involves coaching people, but it actually involves cleaning which is really frustrating, because that’s not what I’ve studied for.

I sent them a cancellation form on 9th April 2021 asking to cancel my membership. They said it could take 30 days to process this due to backlog but we are now in June and I have received no response to any ticket and they keep taking direct debits! It’s shocking behaviour from this company especially when surely they can respond quicker than 2 months and they have taken 3 payments since then. Don’t join this gym as they will never let you leave!

So disappointed in the service from Xercise4Less! I sent them an email on the 8th April to cancel my membership, however due to Covid closures and the backlog of email enquiries, my cancellation request was completely overlooked. So, on the 11th May they proceeded to take my membership payment from my account and are currently refusing to give me a refund on the basis I needed to provide 30 days’ notice – that’s 30 days’ notice from the date they decide to action my request, not from the date I actually asked them to cancel! I found that response ridiculous, given the circumstances that they were not able to action customer cancellations in a normal time frame.
As a result, I’ve cancelled my direct debit to prevent any further payments coming out of my account and asked them to refund the payment they took, as my initial email was more than 30 days before the next payment was due. They keep refusing and I have asked for this to be escalated – I completely understand that they couldn’t cancel this in time due to the backlog, however they should also be taking this into consideration with my refund request. It equally wasn’t my fault that they had to catch up cancellation emails, which caused the delay. As far as I am concerned, I contacted them to provide the sufficient 30 days’ notice before the next payment.

Awful company to deal with!! I tried to cancel my membership last autumn and have still not been able to do it!! As is my right I gave 30 days notice to cancel my membership, only to be told via an email that I would have to go to the gym in person, even though it was closed due to Covid and that as my membership had been frozen I couldn’t cancel it until it was unfrozen!! Now we all know gyms try every trick in the book to make it as difficult as they can to stop you cancelling your membership, but this is ridiculous!! My wife cancelled her membership with the same gym with no issues, which makes it even more frustrating!! I have since found their online form to request membership cancellation, on which you MUST put in a Direct Debit reference number, even though I don’t pay by DD!! I pay by a recurring visa debit card payment, which shows up on my statement as X4L Gyms Ltd. I contacted them again this morning, via email to request they cancel my membership with immediate effect, only to be told they can’t unless I use the form, which as stated is pretty much useless!! I’ve now submitted the form with a random number in the DD box, so I can at least create a ticket. Waiting to receive a reply, but not holding my breath!! I have spoken to my bank and explained the situation and requested that they make no further payments to the gym, which has recently changed from X4L to JD gyms and the subscription has doubled!! Their lack of help is shocking and I will be seeking a refund for the last payment and failing that will instruct my bank to begin a charge back against them, as the bank can clearly see from the emails going back to before Christmas, that I’ve requested my membership being cancelled!! My advice is don’t use either X4L or JD gyms, they’re not to be trusted!!

I took advantage of a free trial about 2 years ago for my local gym, which has since closed. Recently, I have had 2 fraudulent transactions made on my account amounting to £39.98. One is for XERCISE 4 LESS and the second one is for X4L GYMS. I never joined this gym in the first place and do not understand why, 2 years after having a free trial, you are taking money from me. I've tried to find contact details online to cancel any future payments and guess what, no contact details anywhere online. This is daylight robbery - you should be ashamed of yourselves you bunch of cowboys.

After cancelling your membership, this company WILL test your bank account details to see if they can get any money from you. I have had this happen twice. They do not respond via email and will not give me a refund. I have had to go directly to the bank to block them from accessing my details. Please be warned.

Made it so difficult to cancel, I’m still trying to cancel 6 months later. Shocking customer service, don’t reply to emails. They apparently have no record of my details but are still able to take my money..... block on the account now through the bank but they have now changed the account name so the money is starting to go out again! Literally don’t know what to do anymore. Use Pure Gym! Much easier to cancel and use.

I joined brierlly hill gym a few weeks ago with my son and we love it, there is a member of staff called omari who is so helpful and always is happy to help and talk to you, he has always got a smile and even if he is busy he makes time for a hello,I can’t fault this gym.
