Impossible to book on line
Booking on line was a complete nightmare. I tried for over an hour and then gave up. Among other things they wanted me to choose payment method but there was no link for that They wanted me to choose vehicle type but there was no link for that. The web site needs a re think as it is not workable

I had two journeys today and both times the driver was great. On time (early even) drove very well and was reliable. I was very happy with the service and will use again.
Awful service - avoid
Awful service. Pre booked 2 days before, then 10 mins before pick up, they called to say the fare was doubled. 3 women left stranded at night. If I could give no stars, I would. Avoid.

I use Wintax regularly. Mainly to visit the hospital often using Wintax for the return twice a day. Additionally our son uses Wintax to travel to Heathrow en route to his home in USA.
The taxis have never been late to pick up members of our family, the cars are always clean and the drivers are courteous. I cannot fault this company.
avoid airport pickups with Wintax/ Wessex cars
They are ok except for airport pickups. Terrible service at Heathrow.
Everytime I book it’s the same:
- I explicitly request to be picked up with a sign at arrivals
- instead, I end up searching all over the place and then phoning them, until eventually someone comes to meet me
After a long exhausting business trip I just want to get home not search for the cab driver. All other taxi firms seem to get this right, how hard can it be, somehow Wintax / Wessex cars don’t. No idea why it took me this long to decide but now will definitely stop arranging airport pickups with them.

Book a taxi for 13:30 but didn’t come. It was strange as normally they txt you to say taxi it’s in his way plus the map to see where the driver is. When I called bk they did send another one but it was too late as I got to the station at train departure. When I called to say I want to speak to senior controller ( you know who you are ) he was blaming me as I should have allowed more time . Normally 20 minutes it’s plenty of time but he insisted that was my fault . First I am the customer ( not that you care ) so don’t raise your voice and try to blame . If you the taxi is late you could have call me bk to mention as I could have walk. Second it’s your mistake as you didn’t book the driver because not txt was semt to me to alert me . Refund my train ticket

Awful service
Awful service. Cancelled our pre-booking 3 hours before the slot with no authorisation. To then double the quote (£79 for a 14 minute drive!). Really unhelpful would not recommend.
Rude driver
Rude driver, I was waiting in the right place but he couldn't find me. Got very angry on the phone with me. App also gave the the wrong car make and registration. Then in the taxi he didn't know where to go and asked me, I don't live in Winchester and he had the sat nav. Just awful rudeness.
I had a great experience
I had a great experience. I needed my elderly mum’s medication collecting from Winchester hospital. It was done speedily, good updating of what was happening, easy communication of details for collection. Very impressed and a weight off my mind. Thank you.

I was waiting for an hour and still no taxi turned up, kept ringing them after giving post code and address more than once, yet taxi went to wrong place, an absolute joke of a taxi firm AVOID AVOID AVOID
The worst staff you can ever imagine
The worst staff you can ever imagine. The driver came to the Winchester Royal Hotel & upon telling the name, he said that the taxi was booked under the name of William, however, I clearly mentioned the support that it should be under Miriam. The taxi driver then started shouting at the guest who then came inside to request me to come outside and speak to the driver as he was misbehaving. I went out to tell him that I was the one who booked the taxi but he started screaming at me saying that it was booked under Williamson and while I was speaking to him he turned up the window of his car.
Extremely unprofessional and rude staff! We tend to order around 5 taxis on a daily basis and now we will make sure that we move to another company who knows how to speak politely to the guests. A company that has staff who is there to cater the guests rather than misbehave with them.
Don’t trust
Don’t trust! Dishonest pricing, increased the price from £16 to £27 as they turned up at the wrong address. We even contacted them at the time of booking

Spoken over by a very rude male on the phone, who claimed that is was not their fault that the wrong time was quoted. Very disappointing and will not be using or recommending to anyone.
Wintax used to be good but now…
This company used to be good but now they have become unreliable and very expensive in my opinion.
Avoid - unreliable and rude
Unfortunately I would recommend that anyone who needs to be at a certain place for a certain time (train, plane, meeting etc) to either book 30 minutes earlier than is needed or to use a different taxi firm in Winchester. My taxi driver was over 10 minutes late collecting me, didn’t apologise (just said he only found out about the job 15 mins beforehand), meaning that I missed my train up to Birmingham which incurred significant personal cost to buy a new ticket. This isn’t the first time but will be the last as I will never use this firm again and would advise anyone considering using Wintax to book with an alternative company. Incredibly poor service.

First point if they had , they left 10minutes before booked departure . Secondly , they could have rung the doorbell if they had come . Thirdly hanging up twice is not great customer care. Not feeling confident We canceled the Heathrow trip the day after. Very disappointing
Cancelled as they were due to arrive
Cancelled as they were due to arrive. £60 table deposit lost. Asked to speak with the manager and the phone was hung up on. Wintax was great, however recently its gone way down hill. We are regular airport customers which is even more disappointing.
Last minute cancellation and lost deposit for our restaurant booking
Dissapointed had a last minute taxi cancellation. We had a table booking and had put down a deposit which we lost, and lost our booking. I have used wintax for four years, and dissapointed how they couldn't take any responsibility AND hung up.
