The best thing about WICKES Huddersfield location, Design Consultant Mr. Joe Ragona.
We were in search of a new kitchen, we spoke to Joe a year prior just looking at what was available at the store, Joe was very pleasant and easy to work with, he informed us that once we're ready he would visit our home to do measurements ( it took months because we did an addition to kitchen,) once it was completed we returned to Wickes, found Joe, he remember us and our needs. Visit our home, took all our needs into account and offered suggestions which made a big difference and was a great help with our design.
We can't stress enough how much Joe felt like family, he wanted the best for us, he move heaven and earth to make sure we were taken care of even when things were out of our and his control.
He is a very caring person and we don't know if he realises it.
Joe Ragona is much more than a Design Consultant, he would be your advocate and he is AMAZING at his job.
Visit Joe at Wickes Huddersfield you won't regret it. We would give 10 stars 🌟

Natalie, Sally and both Andrews were amazing in supporting me today. I cka in to purchase Stanley hand tools and claim a backpack from the offer. I was unsure of the process. Andrew printed all the t&C's, Gabe them too me and explained the process to claim. All staff were very helpful and polite. Absolutely fantastic with brilliant staff.

Joe Ragona at Huddersfield Wickes was excellent in guiding me through the whole process of buying a kitchen. He was always available to answer any questions I had and just knowledgable, informative, respectful and experienced. We started in January 2026 and I had contact with Joe on the phone and in store and last meet was 12th March. Kitchen to be installed 13th April. I am really impressed with service overall and with Joe in particular.

When went to the store with a list of things to help finish off the completion of our new home move. Quickly become pretty overwhelmed with the size and huge stock of products. After a few going around in circles we approached Andrew with our list. What a breath of fresh air! Andrew was friendly patient and quickly took us to the product stands we needed and when asked patiently and with good humour explained the best choice of for us. We soon completed our list and purchased our goods. What great customer service!

Stress free from the first meeting & the 2nd with Joe Ragona.He listened to our ideas & price range! He knew the best plan for our new kitchen & installation!
He explained & showed the different ranges & prices! He then came to our property to check the measurements! He has kept us up to date with the planning of the installation!
We would highly recommend Wicks & Joe!

I went into the huddersfield branch to buy some paint and was very impressed with the selection and prices offered. I need assistance and the staff member I spoke to Andrew, was very informative, professional and friendly. My experience made me decide I would be shopping at huddersfield wickes all the time.

After deciding to upgrade our kitchen, and the due necessary research, along with favourable reviews from friends and family experiences, we commissioned a Wickes Integra kitchen.
Joe at Huddersfield - helpful, amenable and knowledgeable. - Actually cannot fault the guy.
The challenges started on commencement of the project, or the lack of proper project management, or understanding of our needs as a customer.
Little consideration was given to how the logistics of having everything for a 15m2 kitchen (or half of a ground floor of a modest semi-detached) would work, the en-mass delivery of every item resulted in everything being excessively moved around all the time by the fitters. Which did result in time wasted, items being damaged during the process. This put the fitters under further pressure in trying to achieve the schedule which was allocated to them by Wickes, or the project scope / funding etc.
I think our fitter (who I will remain nameless as we had a contract with Wickes not him), felt the pressure and the performance of installation and delegation to under skilled team members resulted in more issues, with damage to product.
At no point during the fitting did we know who the project manager was from Wickes. My partner was working from home (2/3 days a week) so if any such individual did visit our house we were not aware. Thus any quality assurance and accountability were very minimal.
On the day which the bulk of the install was finishing we got an email from Wickes talking about the start of the installation, over a month after the delivery of all the items.
The mess during the installation was beyond belief, I found a comment by Paul - store manager at Huddersfield about their Proud to fit ethos a little bit rich when it took me over 4 hours to clean the mess of saw swarf from under our car port, and was also caped up the exterior walls. The hippo waste bags were overflowing by the end, which resulted in waste all over the front garden.
We are now three and half months in to back and forth with the post installation customer services, which has been painful. Lack of ownership, respect and proper communication has been appalling - over a week to response to some emails. When we tackled the store, they were disappointed as they believed the job was closed off and unaware of this, trying to get any accountable progress was challenging. With the only route being remote email and calls, this has been a low point in the whole process.
As we have rectification work now needed because of the rectification work, which has also picked up original workmanship issues along the way, our level of trust and satisfaction in what should be a highlight of our home, has been marred.
A conversation with Paul at Huddersfield also identified further non-compliance issues, which were also highlighted by Neff.
Please note, I am aware of customers who have excellent completed kitchen projects with glowing reports, which makes me think it is luck of the draw. You are at the mercy of which fitted is allocated, and whether you property works with Wickes one size fits all approach. Equally whether the centralised team are even on top of the installs, the local store knew more and were keen to progress things. Perhaps because they had a meaningful relationship with customers.

She then presented the layout/visual of our proposed bathroom which was very good. Since then we have been back to make some small alterations after studying closely the layout.
