We made an appointment with Miaran Dil at the Apex Retail Park, Hanworth store for Monday 25th May 2026. We took along a scale plan of our kitchen with all measurements, some photos and our own ideas. Miaran said our plan was a good one, but that he could usefully tweak it He then spent around 30 minutes inputting all the information into your system. When he tried to save the plan the system crashed and he lost all the work he’d just done,
Miaran said he couldn’t immediately re-input it because he had another customer appointment, but that he’d do it later that day and email the design to us. 3 days later we’re still waiting, with no contact except for the request to write this review of the appointment! Not impressed!

I had a really positive experience at Wickes in Hanworth thanks to Callum. He was incredibly helpful from the moment I approached him—friendly, approachable, and clearly knowledgeable about the products. He took the time to listen to what I needed and offered practical, honest advice that made a real difference to my project.
It’s not always easy to find staff who genuinely care, but Callum went above and beyond to make sure I left confident with the right materials. His attitude and professionalism really stood out, and it made the whole visit much more enjoyable.
A big thank you to Callum—he’s a real asset to the team!

I recently visited the Wickes store at Apex Retail Park and spent around **£700 on bathroom furniture and other items**.
Unfortunately, despite being a genuine customer using the retail park parking only for shopping at Wickes, I later received a parking charge from Euro Car Parks for allegedly exceeding the parking limit by around **20 minutes**.
What was disappointing was not just the parking charge itself, but the lack of support from Wickes when I contacted customer services. As a customer who spent a significant amount in the store, I had hoped Wickes would assist in resolving the situation with their parking operator.
The signage regarding parking restrictions at Apex Retail Park was also not particularly prominent, and it is quite easy for customers spending time browsing larger purchases to slightly exceed the limit.
I have generally had positive experiences with Wickes in the past, which is why this situation was particularly disappointing. I hope Wickes will reconsider how situations like this are handled, especially when genuine customers are involved.

I cannot praise Leigh Joyce (Design Consultant) enough for the smooth and efficient service at the start of the project. I also received excellent service from our Installer (Fixco Ltd, Oleg) who produced a seamless kitchen design.
Leigh explained everything really well and advised us on products as well as materials and colours for our kitchen. The communication with Leigh was also great throughout.
However, Wickes' communication throughout the project was poor. We were waiting for one small item which was not delivered in the original delivery, which was part of our wall unit. Not only did it not arrive in the original delivery which was at the end of October, but it was only communicated to me that it was out of stock at the beginning of January. I asked to be kept informed of when it came back in stock but I found myself being the one to reach out to get an update. My kitchen has finally been completed as of 13.02.26 but it was quite the journey to get to this point.

Was helped by Dil for a bath and toilet, he was so helpful, made the process really easy, did our order, gave us all the paperwork. Excellent service thank you Dil

Hanworth store: Unhelpful staff
After buying coal and kindling I left the store and the kindling bag split all over the place. There were three staff members outside the door all having a fag break, all of whom watched the bag split and stood by while I picked up all the kindling up and took it back into the store for an exchange.
Not one of the three offered to help and I mentioned their 'customer service' or lack thereof as I re-entered the store and was met with disdain.
Not a good look for Wickes - suggest you tell staff to smoke out of sight of the public - three staff off the shop floor all at once.

Great service from start to finish via Leigh, Hanworth. Leigh took our brief and made it a reality in 6/7 weeks. Very easy process listening and guiding us with his years of experience. Thank you Leigh! So good we need more units for a new project!

We recently completed a renovation for our bathroom with Wickes. Our design consultant Leigh Joyce was friendly and attentive throughout the entire procedure, and the installers were swift and a pleasure to have around.
Very happy with the final product.

There was excellent customer service, especially from one sales advisor: Callum. I was sent down Wickes by my husband, but when I got there unclear of what option to buy of bonding, plus was too heavy to carry. Ty was extremely helpful, pulled my trolley round the store, help me get the correct item as husband was then not answering. Plus assisted me to the car with the heavy goods. Excellent customer service, of which made a very frustrating experience of not knowing what to but pleasurable.

We had an appointment with Miaran Dil. We walked in to the appointment not sure on the level of work we wanted done and were working with vague figures of how much it would cost us at each level. We left knowing exactly what we would want to do, and everything feeling achievable and knowing our options. A plus was Miaran being such an approachable and nice guy, making the process super easy

Would give no stars but not possible to do so. Had a design appointment booked with one of the designers of the Hanworth branch for midday on Saturday 27th September.
On Thursday (25th September), she called to try to forcefully reschedule the appointment saying that Wickes don't normally do Saturday appointments even though we had been able to book this online a week prior. On the call, she kept trying to say the kitchen would be too expensive so that we ought to cancel. I explained that we were researching with various suppliers so a quote is useful for us to have. She ended the call saying she will let us consider further if we want to cancel and call tomorrow (Friday) to confirm the appointment.
Friday, no calls received so we still have the impression that the appointment is still going ahead on Saturday as I confirmed we were still interested on Thursday.
We received a call on Saturday 20 mins before the scheduled appointment and Ms Bhateja is asking if we still want the appointment to which I reply yes. She seemed a bit confused by this. It was clear that she was still angling for a cancellation. I reminded her that I said we still wanted this appt and that she never called on Friday as she said she would. She said she was super busy and then changed the topic swiftly.
When she attended, she literally spent less than 5 minutes (it should have been a 90-120 mins appointment with a full design and itemised quote as advertised by wickes) and effectively reeled off figures from the top of her head saying it would cost £15k-£20k (based on her extensive experience) and then left in under 5 minutes. We felt that our time was not respected and we were not provided with the promised service. It was completelt unprofessional.
We are appalled at the whole experience. If wickes have issue in offering free design appointments, then they shouldn't offer them but having liaised with various kitchen suppliers, it is the industry standard. Further, if employees do not wish to attend appointments on weekends, then perhaps, these shouldn't be offered as available times. Lastly, if a commitment has been made, then wickes and their employees should honour it with integrity. Its simply awful for an employee to work so hard to cancel or reschedule a booked design appointment & also at various points imply it will be too expensive without spending any time to understand our needs, budget etc.
We would definitely not recommend. In contrast, we had much more productive and effective appointments with B&Q, wren, howdens, magnet and ikea where staff were attentive and showed integrity and commitment to providing good service.

Worst experience ever. Bathroom Designer was clearly not interested in designing the bath room...one key word been repeated so many times was 'i dont have time', then my appointment was done in 5mins.
If there is no interest in designing bathroom and helping customers navigate through this quite complex provess, why even bother booking appointment for them? Such a waste of time, Very disappointed.
